Clean shops. not at all crowded. good commodities like sarees, dress materials, handicrafts.Bed covers etc. still some shops are giving 20+10%discount. New arrivals also seen in good number of shops. parking facility in side market. wheelchair can be driven on ground floor. Lift probably not there for 2nd floor. price considerably in expensive mainly due to discount factor.

Closed on Sundays. Mostly outlets of different state Govts.. Discount during Puja, Gandhi Birthday, Dewali etc. Only readymade cloths, dress materials and Sarees. Khadi offers few offbeat products, such as, incense sticks, Honey etc.

Uttarapan Market is located beside CIT Road near HUDCO Crossing in East Kolkata fringe. This shopping complex was built by WB Government. It is a 2 storied market complex. There are showrooms of almost each state of India. Beside that there are also private owned shops. There are good parking space also. The shopping complex is well connected through road.

Good collection but shops are less

The north Kolkata answer to south Kolkata Dakhinapan. Though at one time there were a huge number of government shops but now a major section has closed down. But there are other government shops and Khadi shops selling awesome sarees, clothes, kurta, shirts and other stuff. There is Mrignayani the Madhya Pradesh exclusive store and other government stores from all over the country.I simply love this place, it is my favorite shopping center.

For middle class buyers this place is good bargain.

Nice place for Government Emporiums.

This place is situated just beside ultadanga housing estate near hudco. This may not be considered a mall but can surely be a shoppers paradise. All government emporiums are present here along with some privately run shops. Food shops are available. If anyone is interested in dokra, manjusha is the word. There are other gift items as well. Those who visit uttarapan knows that it is paradise for saree lovers (not comparing with dakshinapan or biswa bangla). My humble request to everyone reading this.... Please visit uttarapan and help it to flourish. Lives of many artisans and craftsmen are dependant on this.

Although the market houses many shops from Bengal as well as other states regarding their fabrics, handloom & handicrafts, the variety of stock needs enhancement and affordability.
