Bidhannagar Road is a Kolkata Suburban Railway junction on the Sealdah–Ranaghat line. It is linked to the Sealdah South lines via Sir Gurudas Banerjee Halt railway station. It is located in Ultadanga, Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. It serves Ultadanga, Kankurgachi, Bidhannagar and other surrounding areas. Many EMU trains coming from or going to Sealdah stop at Bidhannagar Road. Most long-distance trains skip this station but a few stop here. It has total 4 platforms.

One of the busiest suburban rly station of Kolkata situated on North nd Main line Section of Sealdah division with stoppage of few North Bengal bound trains. Its main station of Ultadanga and Salt Lake City area of Kolkata. In office duration it used to be very crowded. One can easily get buses nd autos for nearby nd other areas of city.Food nd Tea stalls available on platforms. Station building has unreserved nd reservation counters also with ATM nd toiletsBcoz of shortage of space, the station has been builted on high level thus the platforms for Up trains are on one side nd for down on other side. Bt both of them are connected with footover bridges.

It is one of the busiest station under Eastern Railway. You will see a huge crowd in the station if you reach there between 7:30 a.m. to 12-1 p.m. also , the same scene is observed between 4p.m. to 9-10 p.m.on working days. The crowd is slight less on holidays. There are five platforms, among them platform 1 & 2 is used by only suburban trains and platform 3,4 & 5 are used by long-distance trains.

Very busy station. A gateway to salt lake city. transportation facilities well developed. Connected with Roads and rivers. Auto stand, bus facilities, uber and others can be easily accessed. But its so crowdy. A severe accident may take place any day. During rush hours the station is so full that theres a not a single gap. The trains are very crowdy. The subway is really small and dirty. Otherwise it is good. I think 3 stars describes it all.

Very important station but its too much crowded. Very difficult to board the train from here during office hours. The subway path is too narrow which results in over crowded platforms. Also the announcement is not proper which may cause inconvenience to the new comers. More infrastrctural development is required but despite of that its a very important station.

This is one of the most crowdy stations......very high number of passengers travel through this station......but the area is very small........width of the platforms are also very small.......When a train arrives the platforms are completely filled by passengers and completely jammed.....it have two overbridges and two subways.......The two UP lines are numbered platform 1 and platform 2 and the DOWN lines are numbered platform 3 and 4.......This is odd one since all other platforms upto Naihati Jn have numbers as UP lines- Platform 1 & 2, DOWN lines Platform 3 & 4......i.e 2 and 3 are interchanged in this station......Announcement is not synchronised with the trains.......the announced train comes later and the previously announced train arrives first......it is advisable to check the boards on the front of the train before boarding....dont trust the announcements.......The railway lines are elevated and it crossed over the Bidhannagar Road with UP platform 1 & 2 on one side of the road and platform 3 on the other side........platform 4 runs over the road and its very long......This station is different from all other stations and its very difficult for someone new coming to this station.....

As my rating suggests - obnoxious! One of busiest station in sealdah main section and yet one of the most neglected. Lakhs of commuters use it everyday but there is absolutely nothing for them to make their journey safe, let alone comfort! Ignorance towards commuters from the railway authorities so high that it is not even funny.. Platform no. 2 has to be one of the narrowest in India, hardly 10 feet in width and more than 30% of that space is encroached by unauthorized shops! You can imagine the misery of the poor commuters. Its only Gods grace that stamped doesnt happen. If anybody working in Indian railways reads this post, my appeal to him / her to be please do something about this.

You will find this station after the sealdaha station. It is in the Sealdaha North section station. This station called Ultadanga also. If you want to go saltlake/ rajarhat / Kolkata or chitpur station then you have to drop here. It has subway and over bridge to change platform. Be careful about the platform number and check that you are in correct side to get platform when you want to drop this station as this station has confused platform number and side. Better you ask Someone about the platform before you leave the train if you new in Kolkata. Please always use subway and over bridge for change any platform. Auto, bus, taxi are available here always for easy communication. If need any assistance please contact with station master, local police, traffic police. If you want go chitpur station, you have to leave train here and take auto from here. You can also go Kolkata or chitpur station by walk and it will take 15 minutes only from this station. You will find a link road for chitpur or Kolkata station near this station. Please ask local person to get the link road for chitpur station.

A very busy platform with basic passenger amenities. This platform is the gateway to Sealdah for express trains as well as many other suburban locals. The platform serves it purpose for connecting places like Salt Lake, Newtown, EM Bypass as bus /auto for such places could be availed outside the platform. The platform is a bit elevated having an underpass for vehicle movement. Galloping local trains (Slow fast/fast) usually dont stop at this station, therefore no question of express trains to give stoppage. However, theres an exception... Gangasagar Express.
