This is one of the oldest shops of Kolkata now running under Saima franchise. The quality, quantity of the food is worth they are charging. Its quite reasonable price in this area. Behaviour is awesome. Taste is ok. Huge crowd love this place for snacks , lunch , dinner. As well like other shops and stalls of this area they provide faluda kulfi in cheap price.
This is a very affordable restaurant non AC that doesnt mean they use cheap oil for food making any age group people can eat those foods. Wow thing is they serve extra chutney and dal or choley if needed. When you go for shopping in esplanet must try Indramahal food👌🏻
I used to visit this place whenever I went to the dharamtala area. The dosas and chole bature was a must try and ao delicious. Other food items were also savory the lassi , kulfi and other sweets. The taste was really of heavenly taste as the name suggested. But quite recently I went there with my brother, I took cab from tollygunje just to eat at indramahal. I felt that something has changed but didnt realize immediately ,we sat there and looked at the menu and saw each and every dishes were non veg and the photos in wall had some arabic inscription. We immediately got up and left the place. I really feel sad when I go near esplanade. I will miss you Indramahal 😭😭
My mother got the first taste of the nightlife of Calcutta from here way back in the 80s.
I must not say that this restaurant is great place for foodies. Because their waiters are very much ill mannered and lazy. Most of the time some of them get confused to serve ordered food to the proper table. But food quality is very good. This restaurant is located just beside of Esplaned metro station gate.
Service good.food quality average
A fantastic place to savour chole bhature, various chats and kulfis. Very tasty and mouth watering menu to choose from. You can always have a quick bite. Moderately expensive. However, as I ordered my favorite items I felt very sad that the frontage of the shop as has been usurped by squatting hawkers who make it difficult for people to walk on the footpath. This apart with Metro tunnelling work and the construction of the Metro hub at Esplanade has made the place madding. What a fall from grace!
Now changed to hotel Saima, all dish changed, dont visit if you want some veg dish
Once a prominent restaurant for pure vegetarian food lovers enjoying North & South Indian Delicacies with sweets & savories is now completely Non-Veg Food Joint & it was really very disappointing for us as we came to have our lunch specialy planned all the way from Garihat only to find out that we cant anymore.
Ok ok
Have been visiting this place since childhood. They do offer variety of vegetarian food at reasonable rate. Overall clean restaurant and the crowd is also decent. Signature dish - chana batura and kulfi!
When we go here, we all celebrate it together.
Small restaurant but the food taste is good. Prices are reasonable. You also get South Indian breakfast items here. Ambiance and cleanliness is not that great but this is the only restaurant in the locality serving reasonable food items. Sweets and lassi are also good.
Well behaved staffs and very much affordable!
Indramahal is no more there , its replaced by a restaurant called Shaheen .
Indramahal is a small sweet and snacks shops which serve these items at a very nominal rate. The service was quite good. I ordered kulfi faluda and it was that much that one can satisfy his/her hunger. There is sitting service available for the one who wants to sit , relax and munch.A good and recommended place for small meals.
This place is right next to gate no 5 of Esplanade Metro. Ordered aaloo bonda and lassi. Lassi was ok, but the aloo bonda was served cold, it was not fresh and the cleanliness of the place was questionable.
Idli khaungaDhosa khaungaMundi hilaunga....Food quality is excellentFeel nostalgic..
Good
Nice outlet for snacks. Sweets are good.
One of old public food serving destination but with time theyre not improving the quality but decreased. Also place needs to be hygienic
Foods are not too expensive... But their dishes are very delicious specially the Raj kachori
(Click to read full review)Place : Indra MahalLocation : Esplanade, beside metro entranceAppearance : Large one-storeyed restaurant, Air-conditioning absentPurpose : They serve a variety of Indian and South-Indian dishes at a reasonable priceSuitable for : Families, large groups, kids, touristsImpression : It is a good restaurant for casual eating in the area and enjoys advantage for its prime location. Being a old restaurant, signs of ageing are evident, provides table services, although the foods are tasty, some dishes are a bit overpriced compared to the quality and amount they provideNotable mentions : Their lassis are a must try
Great food
Good place and good quality of the food but the price seems to be a bit high compared to the quantity of the food
A very old joint, almost like a heritage site. Unfortunately tho nostalgia is the only blissful serving you shall get. It has gone downhill over the years. The chole batura is barely batura but rather a puri with ton of oil. Dosa and other south Indian options are bit better tho. You can try it but not worth a special go. If your in area you can visit!
Good nd cheap
Not very much nice place... Absolutely bakwas food available here..
Cheap rate and good quality of delicious foods...
Good food . affordable Rate. Good Seating arrangements
Pocket friendly place for good food at Esplanade, Kolkata
Normal taste#pure veg.
If you are really desperate in Esplanade and dont have much time or money so visit this place .Sweets and food are so unlike the Kolkata spirit . Few steps more on either side you can hop in KC das or New Market area . Choice is yours .
If South indian food with an indian touch is your goal then this is the place you must drop in
Had Idli and kulfi. All I can is go try it !!
Its good..dosa was tasty..but I have doubt about other items..dahi wada and koolfi is not that good..as its price..
Quality of sweets was not at all good. Breakfast was ok . But the sweets were of many days. It had a bad smell too.
For the vegetarian its a good resturant..
Almost everything is tasty and as good as any other hotel in the country.....
Food is good but again poor service
Definitely a nice clean totally veg place. You can enjoy their varoius type of Masala dhosa. Dahi bada is really tasty. You can enjoy mango lassi also. Its a great refreshing thing after so much crowd. Just besides the metro.
Can get Indian food and sweets.
If you havent eaten dosa here,u r missing out on flavors of kolkata..
Big & delicious RAJ KACHURI,!
Known for South Indian food. Kulfi is a must try.
Various types of chats ..sweets ...lassi and kesariya kulfi served here...
