I stayed here and believe me I had a great experience. The staff was very kind and helpful (I would like to take the name of Sabir here). Futhermore, you can access all sorts of shops nearby. Indeed, value for money.

Superb hotel in a budget.Highly recommend for a people who plans to stay in budget. 24hrs hot water and the extremely nice people welcomes you are the best experience you get when it comes to the hotel. Although rooms may not be of your expectations since this is one of the oldest hotel in kolkata youll get that old vibe when you are inside. Other hotels maybe better than this but you have to twice than this remember.

Decent place with reasonable room rates considering the location. Very convenient to walk upto Park Street & New Market.Though I was there during covid times, staff members were less & also facilities like fooding wasnt available. The rooftop garden is such a bliss to spend some free time.

I loved my stay at Sunflower. Just the fact that such a hotel still exists makes me happy. The old colonial building with the iron door elevator is just gorgeous. Sure, its dusty and crumbling, cleanliness can be an issue, but the rooms are actually very adequate. Theyre great value for a bit over 700 Rs and the location couldnt be better, just a few minutes walk from Park Street, the metro and the Central Market. Even if youre not on a tight budget but dont mind roughing it a bit, Id recommend a stay here, just for the experience

It is an old British era building in which the owner has converted few flats into rooms. There are also some permanent residents in the building. The reception is on the terrace which is a bit strange. I would suggest that only those people who are looking for a cheaper rooms can stay here. This guest house has no other amenities other than Wifi. Even though parking space is there but I doubt that it is for permanent residents only.

Nice place to stay and crash for a day or two. Colonial designed building with adequate number of rooms. Running hot tap water available throughout. You get free wifi with good speed.

Reasonable place to stay.

This hotel is located in a good place and the building is an awesome old traditional british building. Except this two I would say its very simple residential hotel without any modern facilities. Wifi doesn’t work well, hot and cold water facility available but difficult to uae, TV was there but they do not recharge it during Corona, while others taking less price but providing all facilities. Staffs are good, and the best parts are the rooftop garden and the traditional lift. And the building is also very nice looking.

Very reasonable price along with comfortable beds and a beautiful roof top wit sitting area from which Kolkatas tallest building is also viable. its also close by to Indian National museum and Victoria memorial

The sunflower guest house is a budget hotel. There is no restaurant attached with this. Its very near and walkable distance to Park Street. There are lots of street food stalls, big restaurants and all kinds of fruits available.For the budget people this guest house is one of the good ones. The roms are compact and attached bathroom with hot water facility and TV is there with.Easy to access the main places like Park Street,Maidan, Park and also the Victoria hall. All are in walkable distances.Well connected with Metro and public transport buses to all parts of the Joy of City.

This Guest House is quite popular because of the cheap rate and the location. You will never expect a room in Park Street area in this price.However, their services are worst nightmare. The staffs are not good in conversation. Sometimes you feel rude.The rooms are good. They provide you free drinking water but if you dont go for it. You should buy bottled water from outside.They do not allow local people to stay overnight.

One of the best stays till date. The rooms are from the time of the British era in India. The elevator (wooden and old fashioned) fascinated me the most! A foreigners paradise.

One of my favorite hotels in India to date (3 trips and a year of traveling in India). Its certainly cheap, old, and no frills, but the rooms are clean, the elevator up to the hotel is always fun (great view through the floors), and both the building itself and the rooftop are fantastic. They held our bags after checkout until our night train without issue, too. The location is also fantastic, as its right around the corner from the action, but is on a quiet side street. Ill definitely stay here next time Im in Kolkata.

The staff were all lovely and the location was great. Not that cheap for India but reasonable for Kolkata. Great rooftop for a morning coffee or evening hang out. However, the beds are like concrete, the sheets were not clean and our toilet leaked whenever flushed.

Very near to the park street. Rooms are cheaper as well. Main attractions of this guest house they have nice roof top garden which is relaxing beyond crowd city of kolkata, India. Rooms starting from Rs. 700 to Rs. 2000. Ac rooms available as well.

I chose this guest house because of its locality and reasonable price. No breakfast was included and unless you requested service there was none offered. The security staff were welcoming but the administrative staff were not at all helpful, only interested in filling in their records.

Sunflower guest house is a simple, old building that provides you a decent room, good for a day or twos stay. Its affordable and the location is right on Park Street which adds value to the experience. The building is old and quite interesting in itself. No food, but plenty of options available nearby.

Our overall stay experience was average. The reception was on fifth floor but the lift was only till 4th floor. the waiting room or lobby is on 3rd floor. checkin time is 12 noon. we reached there by 10:30 am and informed the manager. he told us to wait in lobby room as checkin time is 12 noon. he told that room will be ready by 12 and we will be called. but I went to reception at 12:45 after waiting for long time when no one came to call. he then told to bring our luggage as room is on 5th floor. so we had to again go from 3rd floor to 5 th floor with our heavy luggage. Finally checkin was done at 1 pm. the room was clean. but bathroom had no hot water running. Theres no restaurant.

Hi Everyone, I stayed here during Dasara Festivsl. The hotel seem to okay for me as it was came in within my budget. Again, it varies people to people. Let me share few things. Cons: There is no in-house food service neither tea/coffee in the morning so you have to go out for everything. The other thing I noticed, they dont clean the room & change bedsheets. Not sure, I suppose to tell this separately. Also, no hot water available. Fortunately, I got it only for two days. Pros: The hotel is at the centre of the city and closeby very good restaurants, Easily you can access metro and bus stations. Since i was out all the time it doesnt mater to me got adjusted after two days. People who are just looking for basic needs and budget hotels at the centre of the city this would work out for them but dont forget to book AC room.Thank you

Looks alike an old building without much facilities but its not... though checkout time is 12 am.. the particular thing that mostly impressed me that the guest house has a open lobby where you can take rest as well as a Cloak room where you can keep your luggages and a roof top garden too, just sit n enjoy your evening time there...Last Friday ( evening) i had my return ticket so the staff asked me check out by 12 am & oblized me to keep my luggages for further time till I leave the premise of the hotel.... The nearby places is ROYD NURSING HOME, Westside show room ( Mall ) & Bengal Hyundai.... some great restaurants too where you have to wait outside until & unless your booking number has been called for.... but the only thing laking is the tower hanger, theres only one but that too in the bathrooms door & it in the lower side which is a cause of concern certain times... outwise all good....

This place is a good place stay. Rooms are good and well maintained. Staff is very polite and respectful towards the guests.BUT THE OWNER (one among two persons - ealder) IS VERY RUDE, UNPOLITE AND DISRESPECT TOWARDS THEIR CUSTOMERS.

Bedroom and bathroom were good...but dont expect it to be a suite just because its gocertified...there were lots of small cockroach everywhere...first night I complained about it and they put some cockroach spray in the room... thats all...apart from that I really liked the hotel...its safe... location is good and above all the staff was really good polite & helpful...good place for family stay

Ancient looking Guest house... some family still live here. Calm and quite environment. There is a amazing terrace on the roof. Your time in here will be pleasant.

The beds are comfortable, the workers are friendly, and the hotel is remarkably clean for Indian standards. Always a pleasure! The best part: I work online, and this hotel has free, blazing fast wifi (again, for Indian standards). Double rooms start at around 1,000 Rs, several hundred more for AC.

Horrendous experience. The pictures as shown in the website were nowhere near the reality. There was even a tinge of gender discrimination.Take my advice, there are really beautiful and expensive hotels just nearby. This one is not worthy of being called a hotel.Just, just dont even think of coming here.

Both private dwellings & commercial Guest Houses mixed up together, without any signage or guiding instructions leading to unpleasant arguments between the original permanent residents and guests. Unprofessional management. No emergency or fire exit. Elevator unreliable. Legitimacy of this guest house is doubtful.

I stayed here in August 2016 for 2 days. Room is pretty ok but costly for that neighbourhood. Room is on 5th floor, everytime u need to use the lift and bad part is they use old type of lift system. During my stay there was heavy raining in kolkatta, sound of rain was disturbing throughout night against that plastic window protector. If you are vegitarial there is no good hotel to eat near by. I stayed here bcoz it was near to my work place and i wanted to avoid journey inside city. And so many places are available near to this hotel for sight seeing Overall ok to stay for 1 or 2 days.
