1st time visited to view a movie.. very good experience overall. Very nice and clean place, and good place to visit with friends and family.You can go there and enjoy a movie but i recommend to confirm the tiket before you go there cause in this covid situation movie hall running with half to its seat capacity so it filling fast. So it will better if you confirm your tickets online..And other than the place have a nice environment. Public toilets pay and use also avilable inside the premises and onside NANDAN also.Give it a thumbs up if you find informative.. 👍

Usually very crowded especially on Sundays. There are two screens here. Screen 1 is very big and Screen 2 is very small. The seats are very uncomfortable and will surely give you a back pain by the end of the movie. Prices are very low compared to any theater in the city (Screen 1- Rs. 70/ Rs. 50/ Rs. 30 and Screen 2- Rs. 30) so thumbs up for that! Picture quality isnt great but isnt horrible either. Sound quality is pretty average.

Sunday I visit this place for watching MUKHOSH a Bengali film after lockdown. The ambiance is awesome and the price of ticket is so reasonable . Lovely

Nandan is nestled in the cultural hub of Kolkata. It surrounded by some of the iconic buildings like Gaganendra Pradarshashala, Rabindra Sadan, and Bangla Akademi. The place is well connected with the rest of the parts of the city by public transport. We went there to watch Dictionary, a Bengali movie directed by Sri Bratya Basu with Abir Chatterjee and Nusrat Jahan in the lead roles. Nandan is steeped in history and culture and a wonderful place to visit. I was quite surprised when I heard a balcony ticket is priced at seventy bucks only. Certainly much lesser than the entry pass of other cinema halls of the town. The place is very well maintained. They have taken some precautions against the pandemic and that prompted us to stand in the long queues. If you are lucky you may spot some celebrities in the precinct. The air conditioner in the hall was very strong and refreshing. To cut the long story short, Nandan is an ideal place for hanging out with your beloved ones. If you drive to the place, I dont think parking would be an issue. The staff are friendly and courteous. And if youre curious about the movie, I would say it was quite fascinating. Abir and Nusrat did a decent job, ably supported by Arna Mukhopadhyay. It was indeed an exhilarating experience.

The movie hall is excellent. The chairs are very very comfortable. The sound system and screen size is very good as well as the rate is wat cheaper than standard pvr or inox halls. A must visit for movie lovers. Carries the essence of heritage and culture. The only con is the ticket checkers. Their behaviour is very rude.

I am avoiding the place last 2 years. But when i go there I fell in love with the place. The space of the place is very big and, calm, quite, peaceful, in one word just great place for touring with family, friends and girlfriend. Only one thing is missing this is there will be no Hindi or English movies showing in threatere now or future, Never . Nandan is the depot of the Bengali Art, Culture and Cinema. Bengali Oscar winner film director Satyajit Ray inaugurated Nandan. Now it has three screen as Nandan 1, Nandan 2 and Nandan 3. Nandan 1 is the largest among them. Nandan 1 and 2 both is used for commercial movie and Nandan 3 is used for some special screenings and other things and for government use. Except Nandan there is Rabindra Sadan which is also a large screen for theater or movie and Sisir Mancha, Academy of Fine Arts where you can enjoy various paintings and sculptures. Bangal Academy is find in Nandan premises. There is also a food court from where you can get affordable foods. Oh one thing I must say. Nandan has the facilities like a Five star multiplex but the ticket price is even lower than the single screen halls.
