Government office . The staffs are extremely co operative

Where every govt related works done properly with time & behaviour of each employee are very friendlier.

This place is so unorganised, choatic, confusing. When you compare this place to a fish market, the fish market looks more orderly. Once you reach this place, be rest assured that your entire day is going to be wasted, by making rounds of the numerous offices located here and the irony will be that your entire days labour will go in vain as you wont get any result. You will be called the next day or the day after next. This is the work culture which is persisting in Bengal of today. All that you can do is grin and bear it.

The HQ of South 24 Pgs.,houses the DM office with many depatments,police court,bank,post offices,the police headquarters bhabani bhavan is just beside the complex,pwd offices are in the bhabani bhavan complex.

Cannot imagine that District Magistrate will give so much of time and hear us so patiently. His secretaies are also soft spoken & wrll behaved. The office is little different from normal Govetnment office.

Located in Alipore, it is one of the most important place where all the official works of South 24 Parganas is done. The District Majistrate resides here.

The nomenclature 24-Parganas has been in vogue since 15 July 1757 when Mir Jafar whom the East India Company had just established as Nawab of Bengal ceded to the Company the rights of 24 mahals. The treaty by which the cession is recorded says that all the land lying to the south of Calcutta as far as Culpee, shall be under the Zemindari of the English Company and all the officers of this Zemindari shall be under their jurisdiction. The revenue to be paid by it (the company) in the same manner with other Zemindari. The Parwana notifying effect to the Treaty mentions the name of the 24 units of granted land.The District of 24-Parganas started taking shape under Clause Nos.2,3 and 9 of the Regualtion of 1793. The respective jurisdictions of the civil and criminal courts for the district and revenue jurisdiction of the District Collector were demarcated by the Regulations. This arrangement remained valid till 1800.The present district of South 24 Parganas came into existence on 1st of March, 1986. It then comprised of two sub divisions- Alipore and Diamond Harbour and of 30 blocks. Presently there are five sub divisions (Alipore, Baruipur, Canning, Diamond Harbour and Kakdwip), 29 blocks and 7 Municipalities

This place seems to be in a convenient location. But there are few direct buses from south n north Kolkata that will reach U at this place. Auto services are also not there. U have to come to kalighat or hazra to get more options for transportation

Very bad management. Most corrupted bureaucrats I found here. They will demand you directly for any work.

Congested on working days !! Otherwise ok !! Long queues in front of xerox stalls, people here are often indifferent towards others.....
