The staff is vaccinated and restaurant is open from 12-8pm. Visited recently, service was very good. Not crowded at all. Quality of food served was very good. All the dishes were nice specially the snacks were excellent especially the fish fry. Among the gravy dishes the mutton deserves mention. The prawn could have been better. Overall highly recommended.
The water was continuously leaking from indoor unit of AC in the 1st Floor at Table 12. I had to immediately shift to the other side of the table. It was a very embarrassing situation for us to see such kind of poor maintenance at such a popular restaurant. We also had to wait nearly an hour outside the restaurant.

The place is absolutely well maintained and all the covid protocol are being taken care of!Coming to food, You must try their signature dishes to know the actual taste of Bengali cuisine. The main course: FULKO Loochi kosha mangsho thali(the must try)as we Bengalis are crazy about Fulko loochi! The starter had Bhetki fish fry,Mangsho r chop, Chingri thora cutlet, Gondhoraj fried chicken. We took Gondhoraj ghol as the beverage, again a must try. The use of Gondhoraj lemon and its pulp in Doi r ghol is a specialty of 6th Ballygunge place. The sweet gesture of the staffs wont go unnoticed!
It was a good experience. It was Kasba brunch. Covid 19 precautions taken. We took chicken thali @290 Katla thali @310 & Gondhoraj chicken @155. Gondhoraj chicken was really good. Chicken thalis chicken was not much existing. If you want good bengali thali then visit any 6 Ballygunge place thali resturant.
They dont accept prior booking which is very irritating. Service is just average and behavior of the staffs were lil rude. Taste and quality of the food was so so. Ive visited their other branches and they were better.
Recently me and my family was there for a bengali cuisine lunch. Great place and excellent food quality and they give a huge quantity of food also. Must visit restaurant in kolkata for Bengali cuisine. This restaurant is specialised in Thali (combo meal). Try out the Gondhoraj chicken, Mutton kosha , Chingri malaikari
Overrated place. Their welcome drink Gandharaj Ghol is totally unique thing. The taste is just right according to the price of Thali. The taste of vegetarian cooking is fair and very spicy which is not supposed to be. Although unlimited, but it cannot be eaten more than once due to being more spicy. Everyone should try the chicken thali. Staff behavior is very good. There are so many food items available in Kolkata at such a low price which is certainly commendable. Everyone should come at least once.
Foods were awesome and value for money.Staffs behaviour was also good .Best place for lunch with family.
Earlier this place was really good..But my recent visit here was pretty average. .prices have gone up which is expected with inflation but they should also work on their ala carte dishes... Bhetki items and mutton is really good..But the dab chungri was very poor..
First of all location is very nice. The thali they provide here is just awesome. All the food items served in the thali are fresh and well cooked. They also provide a complimentary drink with the thali which is very refreshing. Most of the items in the thali can be refilled except for some. And last but not least the staff behaviour is very nice and polite.A must visit if you are Bengali thali lover.
Food taste was awesome. Specifically aaloo dum and mutton.
Best Bengali Thali in South Calcutta within the pocket friendly cost. The items are delicious even vegetarian as well as non-veg also. Go ahead to enjoy a sumptuous lunch or dinner. But take time for waiting in the queue since there is a big demand and we had to wait for half an hour to enter in the restaurant.
Ive experienced a very good time here. The food, the ambience and of course, last but not least the behaviour of the staffs towards customer is a must to be mentioned in the positive side of the place. Willing to come here with friends and family again.
Naam bade darshan chote.. it was quiet disappointing.. everything was normal... there was nothing wow about any of the thali or dishes.. if you love your time as well as money then avoid this place..!
It isnt upto the mark like other 6 Ballygunge place outlet in our city.
Love this place, food r good in taste. But waiter behaviour should improve. Overall good.
I must appreciate the kind of food they are serving! Take away food packaging is awesome😍 Platters are delightful, preparation is gastronomical and The pocket pinch is just right. My suggestion- Simply go for this one and trust me youll come out with a smiling face🙂Cheers to Good food.. Good life
Very delicious food mutton thali people were good serving person were good total every thing was good
Being a first timer to this place, I thought of trying out a thali which would be sufficient for a person with a lot of varieties. We ordered a chicken and two mutton thalis, which included luchi, aloo dum, rice, dal, dhokar dalna, dherosh shorshe, jhuri aloo bhaja, mutton kosha, khejur chutney, gulab jamun and a lassi as a welcome drink. The quantity was decent but mutton preparation was certainly disappointing. The mutton could have been softer. The overall experience was pretty good otherwise. :)
Yesterday me and my husband visited that restaurant. Trust me Im fallen love with this restaurant. Foods quality and quantity both are fabulous. Specially the mutton kosha! What a taste!! The ambiance of this restaurant gives an authentic taste of Kolkata. Not only foods but also their behaviour towards customer really appreciable. And they served gorom gorom fulko luchi gorom gorom begun vaja potol vaja! In the pandemic situation they maintained really well. Really had an awesome experience.
Well a very much hyped restaurant. 1st thing thali is not available all time atleast when I visited. Next thing is very poor hospitality. I waited approx 40min outside then 30min inside but no sign of welcoming behaviour I found. Food quality is not as expected. Dal of the day is pretty good but others items(rice, chickn, mutton etc) are lame and cold served.
Awesome food. Very well managed. Better to reserve a table like we did.
Superb food quality.. only drawback is waiting time on weekends but still worth it
I had heard a lot about this place but frankly I was disappointed with the service. First they didnt have aam pora shorbot. This was still acceptable as this isnt the mango season. 2nd, they didnt have ilish thali for reasons best known to them. 3rd, I ordered for kids thali which comes with ice-cream. They didnt have that!! 4th, the thali should come with complementary aloo bhaja. Imagine they had shak bhaja. I had to pay extra for aloo bhaja!! 5th, some doi ghol had to be served with the main course. They forgot and served that after reminding them when the meal was complete. Imagine how pathetic it would taste then. 6th, we couldnt complete all the items so asked the attendant to pack. He packed chicken n mocha chop but refused to pack chhanar dalna bcoz it was a part of thali??!! I mean, what kind of ridiculous logic is this?? Even the chicken was very much a part of my thali and I paid for it. Why the hell would I not have the right to pack for Chhana bcoz I paid for that too?? This is pathetic service and ok food!! Not worth the money AT ALL!! Id recommend none to visit this place
Oshadharon ranna!Cooking was really really good. This is hands down the best restaurant for Bengali food I visited till date. Literally all the dishes were amazing.
Review is only concentrating on Mutton Thali (Price 355).5 star for hygiene and fresh food items.5 star for welcome drink (Lemon Lassi in my case).3 star for the vegetables and alu dum as dont expect average quality like home.Obviously, 5 star for fresh and tasty mutton considering expected two masses.Other participants like Rice, Lu chi, Dry Pan, Green chilli, Lemon are standardized.* Except 4 lu chis and mutton everything is unlimited. So, dont think about whether they can satisfy your appetite or not.
Bad behaviour of the staff.Food quality not as expected. However the sector V is better than Kasba.
Food was super tasty and authentic Bengali flavours.. tried Dab Chingdi and mutton thali.. both are mouthwatering!!Must try once when at Kolkata..👍
The taste of the foods were not that much of tasty as it famous and even i did not get good veg items in mutton thali. I also got bad smell from Papad and mutton. So I suggest not to visit here with high price and low qualitybor less items and Cold foods....I really disappointed... But..The taste of Chatni and Fulko luchi was very good.
The service provided outdoes everything. The taste is fine but the service makes up for it and more.
Nice Place to hang out with friends.Quality of food is good.Try MOROG POLAO.
If you are a first time traveller to West Bengal and would like to relish the plethora of regional mouth-watering dishes that this state has to offer, then this restaurant is your ultimate destination. 6, Ballygunge Place is predominantly famous for its Thalis. Here, you will get plenty of food options (Veg & Non-Veg) to choose, from their extensive menu. The restaurants ambience is simply top-notch, although the sitting capacity is a tad less. I would definitely rate this restaurant as one of the topmost authentic Bengali cuisine restaurants in Kolkata. Recommended. 👍🏻
Total wastage of money. Ordered mutton thali, in the thali veg was pathetic (I can cook better veg than them 😅) , mutton was so overcooked that the gravy became bitter. They dont know how to cook Daab chingri but can charge 370/-, the prawns was so big that you may need a microscope to find the same. Not recommended.
The dishes are not rich in taste rather is very simple in taste but the main dishes needs to be improvised like bhetki, shorshe begun.Ps: the welcome drink is really good
I think of the cheapest thali ... quantity and quality was good..
A place that serves bengali food with modern touch.First, the ambience was nice, small but nice with a large landscape photo of Hoggs market. We ordered a thali that included a welcome drink (Ghol gondhoraj), Luchi, Rice Daal, Aloo dum, Veg Kofta, Potol bhaja, Jhuri Aloo bhaja, mutton, papad, chatni, kalo jam, misti doi/nolen gur er ice cream. Food waz so delicious I cannot explain. The ice cream was mouth-wateringly tasty. Will go back for that. The waiting stuff was very nice and took order carefully and was generous with servings. The only downside is that the place is a little too small, have your reservation and you are good, but at hasty hours you may not get a table. The tables are for 4 people, 6 people may cause feel a little crowded.Recommended.
Like their accommodation, service & food quality. Neat & clean with good behavior. Food was so fresh & tasty specially the shrimp with green coconut.
The food was good.best bengali thali for sure.
Food quality and taste is nice, cleanlyness maintain also....But tables are so small. Its like as coffee table, it is not to enough for lunch.
Ordered mutton thali, quality was not that good, but the waiters were very much courteous and helpful.
Quantity and quality was great compared to the price. The food wasnt extremely rich with oil. Tasted like goodol authentic home cooked bengali meals.
It is actually a perfect authentic bengali restaurant..so much tasty foods and very good hospitality😊
Food is just awesome but theres room for improvement. Service is quite good.
Good, the quality has deterorated though, gondoraajer ghol felt like ghol only without any essence of gondhoraj.
Thali is good...veg item dalna.. and luchi Aloor dom is good taste.....potol korma is tasty.....overall all dish good....
Probably one of the best places to have an authentic experience of a Bengali dish. The food feels like home cooked with the right mix of spices not too oily and not too spicy. The ambience is excellent and the decoration of the plate is something to look out for. There are different varieties of Thali along with side dishes.
Wrost than ever . Teast less food . Dnt weast ur money.
The food here is exceptional! Everyone who wants to try the Bengali Thali must visit this place. Everything from the Welcome drink to the desserts were a burst of different flavors. However, the special thalis were a little overpriced and the additional non veg items that were served didnt taste that great. Moreover, I was absolutely disappointed with the service during my visit as I found a small piece of hair in my dessert and the manager didnt even bother apologizing for it or offering to replace it. Could be because it was closing time, but certainly not the kind of service I would have expected from such a highly rated place!
Finally visited the well talked and famous place for its Bengali Thali. They only serve Thalis, it has also variety Chicken, mutton, fish, veg etc.Prices are very negotiable and easily affordable, its near the Acropolis mall.We had chicken Thali. They only repeat the veg items, non-veg items are one time only. For the start, they gave us a complimentary drink, which was worst, too much sour to it.
It was good in all respect. Cleanliness, food quality, service everything was as per expectation.
The price wasnt that bad based on the food,Just needs more improvement on the quantity
We ordered one chicken thali and one vetki paturi thali and one gondhoraj chicken.Gondhoraj chicken & ghol ( wellcome drink) is too good.Thali veg items so so..😶😶😶Chicken is nice, and vetki paturi is well cooked and tasty
Services and food is so so good and testy.
Average bengali cuisine.Cant say too good.
IT was a good experience ...All the food item was ambrosial... But they add sweet to every food item which I dont like but still the taste was good
The food is very good and tasty.customer service is on next level🔥🔥🔥. They won best restaurant for bengali food in 2017. If you go there you must try the Dab chingri, it is very tasty.
Over rated place.
It was really delicious.. All the preoperations had perfect blend of Bangaliyana & Taste... I loved the lunch and Ill surely go there again...
Very bad experience..they dont let share our own food we paid for and encourage wastage of food..and manipulate to order costly stuff too much..very bad experience..
