Well the stars are your answer, food and drinks although not at all cheap, but also it doesnt give you the feeling that its not worth the money. It is it is, food was delicious. Deduction of 1 star just because one of the item wasnt fresh(bread went bad) although the filling tasted great so it was forgiven.Overall its a decent enough experience but Id suggest to go spend your money elsewhere and have a better time.

The Orient offers an amazing range of food! I have tasted their Mixed fried rice. I admit it tastes so unique and nice from any other restaurant. The taste is spicy, but just perfect. Amount is enough for one. I avoided going to the restaurant due to covid, and ordered the food. It came with such a nice packaging!I definitely recommend this place to try out the dishes 😍

We had been told that for sort of reasons the open air space in this property is closed due to summer but it was a turn off for us. And the bar area was also closed for some work is going on. But Good food. Enough quantity. Good ambience.

One of the fantastic dineout place in Kolkata to have some awesome and finger licking Chinese food. You will get authentic Chinese food here. Great ambiance. Interior, lighting and music combination can make your date perfect. Really a sophisticated place to spend a great evening with your loved one.All staffs behaviour was very good. All the staffs are aware of the items they are selling. They have great knowledge about all the items in the menu. So if you cant understand some you can easily approach them and they will help you the find the perfect combination that you are looking for.Now if we talked about the cons of the place then there serve time is a bit high. You might have to wait for your order. And its not that pocket friendly. It can be a lil bit of over price. According to my apatite it will cost more then 2500 for two persons,which might not be very much convenient for everyone.Otherwise in terms of test and hygiene they are maintaining pretty high level. So if you have good budget and you are around City Centre 1, should visit for some fantastic Chinese food. And they serve alcohol there.

Went there for a family dinner. Absolutely loved the experience, right from food to the ambience. The ambience and seating both are very cosy and comfortable. The interior design complements the overall dining experience pretty well.Coming to the dining experience- this is one of the best Oriental cuisines we had ever had in Kolkata. Preparing Sushi/Maki is a very hard art to master and I am very pleased to say that they have mastered this very good manner! We had ordered Asparagus Tempura Uramaki. Not to mention, the taste was very good and the finesse in the presentation was well visible. I was amazed at the level of mastery of the Sushi chef was comparable to one of the best Oriental restaurants in Bangalore. Along with these we had opted for the Orient speciality vegetarian noodles and stir-fried assorted mushrooms with garlic and soy as a side dish. Both the dishes were very tasty and complimented each other very well. The taste was perfectly balanced. The desert here was unexpectedly good, that can easily make a ‘speciality gourmet chocolate’ restaurant bite the dust. We ordered the Banoffee pie, vanilla chocolate bomb. The presentation of the dish will give high-end luxury hotels a run for their money, and so does the taste, both were beyond expectations.Hygiene was properly maintained with the servers wearing masks, sanitisers kept near the entrance.I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant for great Oriental cuisine. Being a regular customer of Orient, today’s food we ordered was disgusting. None of the items ordered were edible enough. The food was cold and completely disappointing.

Visited this place for the first time. The overall experience was not so good. I dont know if this place has been always like this or it is post lockdown situation. We chose buffet lunch. The buffet was not spread like many other places but a buffet menu is served. Honestly food was good but service was very poor. If you have lots of time in hand and want to spend the whole afternoon in a restaurant over food then can choose this place. But I just couldnt digest the fact that we had wait long between every two dishes. It took more than 2 hours to complete lunch.

Decoration and people are dedicated. Food quality is not up to the mark. Glasses should be more clean and clear.

This is a good restaurant for Asian cuisine. We had ordered dumplings, sushi, pork ribs..all of which tasted quite amazing. The beverages were also pretty refreshing. They have outdoor seating as well, which is good for cooler weather. The prices are slightly higher than your average restaurant but its pretty awesome.

The orient is situated near cc1 in saltlake....this is the best place to taste Chinese and other oriental cuisine in saltlake..... approx 1700 for two people....the place is very nice...the decore is very nice.... specially the Chinese music is playing all time.....the interiors were very good mainly the dim light....all the foods are very tasty I just love them.. thumbs up from me....

Somedays we enjoy our food a lot, on the others its too average. The place needs to focus on consistency. Lately we have noticed even the furnitures have cracks and place desperately needs a renovation

The food was the usual food like noodles and other starters , they added twist to it by may be experimenting a little bit. The dessert is wonderful there , i had banoffee pie which was interesting and special if you are with someone special. The price is bit costly but you would love the outside scenic view specially when it rains . They have tiramisu as dessert as well💋😍🥰

I was there for lunch yesterday. I ordered some sushi, rice noodles, Sui Mai and one special Duck item as side dish on repeated suggestion which wasnt on the menu. Then I find out that they charged me ₹1495 for a lobster as the duck wasnt on the menu. That starter/side dish Duck item is way way overpriced at ₹1495. I am very very dissatisfied and would skip the Orient from now on!

We went on a Saturday night for dinner. We were three persons. The ambience inside is breathtaking. The seating is comfortable and there are ample chairs/seating. Theres an open area as well. The music was upbeat but not loud. We could have a good conversation without any bothersome loud music. We ordered a veg domain platter, Stir fried XO Udon noodles veg and Javas baby corn broccoli and water chestnuts with sambal olek veg. The dimsum platter was the best and it was presented in a unique way. There were five different dimsums and each tasted different from the other. Udon stir fried noodles were mildly spicy and mildly saucy with a nice flavour to it. The noodles were whole wheat and ribbony but not entirely flat. Our main course was towards the sweet side. We would have preferred a non sweet dish for the mains had the waiter informed us oriorlt about it. But nevertheless it tasted fine !The restaurants ingredients are fine and apt. The flavours and aromas are perfect. They do charge for their service but thats optional to pay. The service is good and friendly. Zomato gold made the deal sweeter to us. The restaurant was more than friendly to honour our requests and the gold deal.

They made our anniversary successful. Visited them with a dineout booking and a personal request to decorate and give us a candle light dinner. They arranged it quite well and were very helpful. The waiters were very friendly and kept all the requests we made.The food too was quite good and the dishes had ample amount. However the prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quantity being more justifies the coat if 3-4 people are sharing. The portions can be smaller and cost a bit less targeting 2 people.

For fans of oriental cusine The Orient at City Centre, Salt Lake is a very good option. Though the menu is not that varied compared to other similar restaurants, the taste of its fare quite makes up for it. Another special attraction is the ice cream rolls which they prepare right in front of you. This joint has a seperate smoking zone. The staff are very courteous and helpful.

City centre 1 was the only place probably 10 years back in Salt Lake City.It has its nostalgia in that way. Now it is even in better Avatar lot of activities & amenities.

This is a new popular Asian restaurant in Salt Lake, Kolkata.It serves a variety of Chineese, Thai and Japanese dishes with sweets and pastry.The buffet spread was good and has several choices. They had spicy noodles, meats and fish and vegetables.The appetizers are served at the table. For the appetizers we had spicy chicken boneless and spicy prawns.The place was busy. We had to wait. But once we got in, the service was good.We were pleased and satisfied with our experience.

New Chinese food option in City Center 1. Lunch buffet spread was quite elaborate. Starters served on table were tasty, offered as many times with smile. Prawn stood out in the main course.Darshan was bad, don’t know why they had covered the hot Darshan - it was all soft and watery. Its designed in a Chinese fashion and has got separate space for Buffet and A-la-carte....The restaurant has also got a bar in it...which offers a variety of choices of hard drinks. It has also space for sitting outside but its not okay to get over there in rainy seasons... various types of Oriental dishes(Chinese, Thai, Japanese) are available here....We ordered Hong Kong Style Roasted Sliced Lamb with Pak Choi and Mushrooms as the starter. Then in the main course we ordered for a mixed chilli basil fried rice with Hong Kong five spiced Honey Chilli Pepper Pork Ribs. There was a dim sum festival going over here so we order a honey garlic chicken dim sum of medium plate containing 4 pieces. All these items were brilliantly prepared and tasted awesome. All the items listed above were recommendable. The service was also appropriate and fast and we didnt have to wait for long.The prices were a bit at the higher end but the quality quantity of food and ambience and location of the place was worth it. Since we had applied a dineout coupon it brought down the price to half.Overall it was an wonderful experience to enjoy oriental dishes and hangout with friends/family......Would surely like to visit again!!!

First time the food did taste good. Specially the lamb, shrimp and sushi. Coconut ice cream was the best. Second time dim sum tasted ok, pork ribs were good. Other dishes tasted same!31/08/2019:Went there for dim sum festival and had the non veg dimsum platter.The pink one is minced chicken, black one is charcoal prawn, yellow was honey garlic bao or the basa preparation and the white dumpling with cut on top is the pork one. Pink one I found the best followed by the pork dumpling. Rest of them are also good.

This place is awesome. My first visit to The Orient and I can guarantee will not be the last. It was lunch date with my BAE. Not gonna discourse about everything but I must appreciate their ambience, the glass window with an outstanding view of City Centre 1 metro station and an outspread sky. They also have an open area for drinking and meals.We had non veg buffet which is going on now. We used dineout pay but they dont accept nearbuy 1000 cash voucher on buffet but its available on a la carte.Thanks for the lovely lunch. But serving could have a bit faster cause buffet is served on the table in order to maintain social distancing. We had to wait for at least 10 minutes in between the dishes. But food quality was too good and completely hygienic but sanitizer wasnt provided.Food, ambience and view. All together 5 🌟 experience.

I had visited The Orient for lunch on a Thursday afternoon.They have three separate section-one outdoor and two indoor one for buffet and one for ala carte.Since we opted for buffet we were taken to a section which the buffet spread laid.The place as empty when we entered but it git gradually filled up by 2-2.30pm.Firstly the ambience is soothing and the decor is really apt.Coming to food, we started with the clear soup, salad and the starters served on the table.The clear chicken soup was really good and so was the salad.After that the starters were served: cripsy potato, veg momo, spring roll(not good),chicken dumpling and wok tossed crispy fish(the best❤)The main course was a spread of noodles,fried rice, chilli panner, 2 other veg gravy,chicken in a sweet gravy(didnt like much), roasted lamb with vegetables(mild and tasty) and the oriental fish in pepper sauce(really the best in main course).The dessert spread was small.It had darshan, coffee flavoured pastry,strawberry mousse,crumble almond tart and fresh fruits.However the ice cream served is unique.They served rolled ice cream( choice: kiwi, mango, strawberry) which was prepared instantly.The cost was just 650 all inclusive per head.It can even be available for 625 all inclusive from the nearbuy app.Though the tasty of the main course items were not great leaving 2-3 items,but somehow the entire spread offered was worth the money.The service is also really great and the staffs are very attentive.I would definitely recommend this place to ppl looking for a quiet place for lunch or dinner with family or friends.

The Orient is a decent place to grab some Asian food. I went there during the Dumpling Festival and had a chance to try out a couple of their offerings. I really like the Thai Minced Chicken Basil dumpling. The coating was good and the fillers were very good. For starters, I ordered the Crispy Chilli Babycorn and main course was Chicken XO Udon noodles and Sliced Pork in Black Sauce. While the food was decent, what turned me off is the amount of sweetness every item had. But I guess it varies from person to person. But if youre in City Center 1, do try out The Orient.

Good decent mall with multiple facilities. Very close to our place. One of the best in new town and salt lake area.There are multiple branded food joints at the ground floor, it also has Inox multiplex in the same mall. This mall is also good for a quick shopping with multiple brands accessible at the mall.One of the best place to try at this mall is to go for tea junction at the ground floor. They serve variety of tea and coffee and other snacks. You can also try momos at the ground floor..This mall also has a specific cab pick up zone and a designated auto zone.

I have visited Orient a couple of times and everytime I have been amazed by their mindblowing food. they have both indoor and outdoor seating.This year on the eve of my birthday I went to Orient with my family. I tried raw salmon sushi for the first time and it was great. I was a little skeptical but there was no stench.I love their sui mai. Its steamy and juicy.Also ordered a few different items and everything was top notch.I would be visiting again soon.

Speciality in oriental food as the name suggest, you can try authentic taste as per our understanding. Liked the arrangement in covid 19 situation. In dessert you can try coconut icecream. Even other dessert also good. Cost is ok compared to other fine dining options.

My review is purely on the basis on their weekend lunch buffet. It’s a fantastic spread on the basis of the price. Starters are served at your table and include favorites like crispy corn, orange chicken, crispy salt and pepper fish and chicken dumplings. They have an awesome salad bar with made to order som tam (thai papaya salad). The main dishes rotate but spread from typical favorites of chinese to khao suey and thai dishes. They don’t disappoint.

Best Chinese food ever. Try Their signature dishes, and dont forget to try Thai Coconut. My all time favourite dessert.
