A very small restaurant located just next to Go Lebanese. The seating arrangement is very limited but the place has a very cute and cozy appearance. The interior has poor lighting and the sound of the chimney from the kitchen may be a bit annoying. The food is great both in quality and quantity and it is very reasonable. Must try Roast Pork Garlic Fried Rice. Highly recommended.
Small creative restaurants offering good food isnt really rare in an area like Southern Avenue. Wok Away is no exception to that.As per its name, Stir Fry On The Go, you may think its a delivery outlet only. But youll hardly believe theyve somehow managed sittings for a small group of 4 inside. Lets taste their food...Garlic Cilantro Egg Noodlesfor Rs.145 (3/5) :-----------------------------These noodles looked colourful because of the number of veggies and spring onions in it. Noodles seemed spicy & full with soya sauce but it wasnt really that. It tasted quite simple except some twist because of the burned garlic on top & its mild flavour. Portion was okay for 1 person but definitely not for 2.Sichuan Corn Infused Sliced Fishfor Rs.265 (4/5) :-----------------------------This dish was really impressive. Red spicy & tangy gravy with lots of capsicums & red chillies top of that few corns tasted delicious. Fish slices were fresh, juicy & they uniformly took the flavour of the dish.Pricing :---------------Mains averagely priced at Rs.265, I wont call this place cheap. But one good thing is that they dont add any taxes, so what you see is what you pay. Conclusion :-----------------------Southern Avenue offers a large variety of restaurants but not really pure Chinese restaurants. Somehow if you manage to find this place youll face hard time to manage sittings for your big group. However they offer good quality food that definitely can be considered for take away or online ordering.
The food is amazing .
While scouting for some Wok-Tossed preparations online for dinner, we came across this relatively new joint on Southern Avenue. This time we stuck to vegetarian only. Hence, after browsing through the entire vegetarian section and eliminating our likes and dislikes, we ordered Stir Fried American corn and greens. The Stir-Fried American corn with Chinese greens was indeed mouth-watering. The vegetables had a crisp texture and sauteed well. The vegetables had a light coating of the garlic-flavoured oil, which is our all-time favourite ingredient. We savoured this fragrant green side dish with Veg garlic fried-rice. The rice was non-greasy and had crispy little chips of burnt garlic.Looking forward to relishing more such wok-tossed preparations from Wok-Away. A delightful dinner indeed.
Really good quick bite for a chinese! I love the woks here especially when I’m stopping somewhere to eat during lunch hours off from work!
Good Food and Good Behaviour..
