As silent as it says with full of natural habitat & you feel like you are in forest. It also displays large variety of birds.

Although it is supposed to be a Silent Zone I guess it is simply a joke now because most of the street hawkers and food street crowd in this area. There is new parking facility around this place for two wheelers and cars but do not expect this place to be anywhere close to being a Silent Zone. Also there is no official sign board marking exactly from where the silent zone begins.

Good place for family trip..parking area is not so good. Street food a available. Playing area is there. Horse riding is available. Easily noticeable.

Nice place in night

Rankala lake, one of the oldest and most famous tourist attraction in the city. Lake is surrounded by old town on one side while the other side has newly developed locality. The shores of lake have been renewed in recent years.

Contrary to the name it was crowded one, that too in covid period.

I would give 3 stars as the greenery has reduced a lot compared to what is was many years before. Good Place to visit if you are planning to come in evening time. Not a good choice to visit in day time. You get lot of snacks outside the park. Not recommended for family and children as you will find lots of couples sitting over here.

Quite clean area. Good, clean, ice cream and pizza joints. Even street eateries are hygienic. Mostly run by locals who are honest and hardworking. Rates are very reasonable. There is a good play ground for children. Paid entertainment, horse ride, inflated Mickey mouse, battery operated children cars available at a reasonable cost. As with all the public places in Kolhapur, the KMC is not bothered about providing clean urinals/toilets/washrooms for the citizens (gents & ladies). In emergency DMart can be availed.

This zone is home to water birds. Specially in winter it is full of birds. Painted stork, common coot,open bill,purple moorhen,river terns white Ibis,purple heron,grey heron, etc.This is a lovely place for bird photography.This is a picnic spot serving kolhapuri dishes. And also accommodate children park.

Beautiful sight to behold, but from a distance. If you are disturbed my the raw smell of India of the sight of buffalo bathing in water, then enjoy it from a distance. But, do enjoy. Thats real India.

One Of the tourist attraction in Kolhapur. Important point to note, even though we call Rankala lake as single tourist spot there are 3 different gardens around the rankala. U can take all over a round trip visiting all the spots or visit any of the one spot.

Its awesome place. In nature and beautiful lake. Very rare kind of birds visited here in different seasons. Also rare species of turtals also found here

Rankala is first place comes to everyones mind after hearing name Kolhapur. Contributions of kolhapur to our country an as well to overall world (if I am not wrong) is very important & noticeable. Rankala Lake is the heart of kolhapur as every one says. I bet we dont have person who is having no interest to visit Rankala any time.Rankala is always first choice of everyone that is from morning walkers, senior citizens, small Childrens and families as well. Evening is the best time to visit with your company. We have boating, horse riding available here. A silent atmosphere here takes you to heaven. 😇

It should having some provision for safe vehicle crossing area.

Its a good place to visit and have a rest full time either alone or with family. The thing you have to follow is the silence 🔇 as this is no sound 🔊 zone area which is very important to watch the beautiful birds 🐦 which are frequently migrating during their peak seasons. Now a days due to increased intrusion of plastic bottle 🍾, wine 🍷 🥂 🍻 parties in this area, this area is having suffocation and needs immediate actions from the public and the governors. This area is also being encroached by the algae called Jalparni, reducing the oxygen from the water and is causing tremendous damage to the aquatic life 😔 😔

Area is good, but not the silent zone for sure. Buses and trucks are actually banned in this area but the traffic is still flowing without any legal obstacle. Accident prone area. Drive safe.

Better place to have a walk or sit with your partners enjoying the nature. Atmosphere is not that good nowadays the water is getting polluted and stinky smell is always there so its not comfortable for some people.
