Very old sanctury in western ghats,it is also a reserved forest by ch. Shahu Maharaj before after independence it is convert in sanctury for bison.In the forest you can also witness the tiger, leopard,peacock,deers,bear and many wild animals.Also here you found very rare animals.there many species of butterflies,snakes you can only found here.

Unfortunately I visited the place during monsoons, and the sanctuary is closed this season, although the journey and the road beauty from Kolhapur was very beautiful during that season. The scenery was all covered in greens and that freshness in the air is best experienced than just reading about it.You might wanna consider taking a SUV in the journey as the road conditions are bad due to rains, this has formed massive puddles on the road.Though a local resident of Radhanagari suggested me to visit the sanctuary in winter time along with still enjoying the greenery along the journey.

Beautiful place to visit or even go through. Although, not for the faint hearted as it is almost completely deserted and can be scary after sundown. We only passed through on our way, stopped for a brief while to enjoy the sights.

Closed during the monsoon from June to November. Only waterfall can accessed. Landscape can be viewed from Phondaghat. Surreal place to be. Highly recommended.

Its cool and beautiful...basically its second stop of Konkan from kolhapur, Konkan is Start From Radhanagari.If anyone wants Go on Tracking then Dajipur also is best option.Cool environment and Views of scenery is awesome. DAJIPUR is One of best for tracking and Wandering in jungle if you love to see beauti of nature, various Animals And much more.Actually it is one of the best sanctuary of Kolhapur district. And It is 80 km away from Kolhapur.While entering from Karnataka Its also 80 away from NH4.Its having cool view of #Phonda Ghat and This Ghat is start from Dajipur.#Important- In Dajipur and Around 10 km of area there is no network for any cellphones.So be aware as there no network most of People faced problems like map doesnt working and all...!

Very peacefull place and environment!

We visited Radhanagari for Fire flies festival on May weekend. It was through a nature club. We could visualise lakhs of fireflies on the trees in the forest past 7.30 pm. Though weekend rush was there, we enjoyed watching so many fireflies. Amazing experience. In the morning we could catch a view of Beautiful Indian Giant squirrel, a species witnessed in jungles of Western ghats, also the state animal of Maharashtra. It is called shekru in Marathi. We dropped our plan of jungle Safari to search for Bisons due to time constraints. Overall a great place to visit. Got to know about Butterfly festival in November. Would love to visit again.
