Koder House has a very calm and serene atmosphere inside. The food served there is also good. Service is also nice. But the thing I would like to highlight is the hygiene that I found there. Its extremely neat and tidy be the dining area and the wash area. It seems they clean it every hour. Hygiene is as important as the taste of food and service which we dont find in every place. Koder House but wont embarrass us in this regard for sure.
Kodar house... Fort kochi🥰♥️
The positives: well preserved and charming old property. Lots of history. Great location. Very warm and courteous staff. Massive and well turned-out rooms. Now a few things that could be better: the food in the in-house restaurant is plain and somewhat disappointing. The tiny pool was dirty and definitely unusable while we were there. The toilets could use some sort of ventilation/exhaust. One socket at a floor level was broken and exposed and could have been unsafe.
This is a place with some history. It is Portuguese mansion of the 1800s. It was purchased by Samuel S Loser , a prominent Jewish family of Cochin and renovated. It is a fine example of Indo-European Architecture. The ambience takes you back years and makes you imagine how life would have been in pre-independence India. The food is delicious with more non -veg fare available and the servers are warm and pleasant in there approach. A good place for a Sunday brunch!
Had a great time with my friends. Great sea food and beer. It was wonderful to see fort Kochi on Christmas. Full of lights and crowd. the place was secluded in the middle of humanity. A nice feeling and concept.
I only ate in the restaurabt because the rooms are just way too expensive. They have a tiny pool which reminds more of a jaquzzi rather than a swimming pool, still it.s clean other than many other pools in the area. The food selection is not so big but modt of it is Delicious. Staff is friendly and since it.s a rather expensive place, it.s mostly undercrowded and hence you.ll get served quickly. A good choice for a good dinner with a glas of wine.
Koder House, Cochin - Heritage Boutique Hotel. ... Koder House, located in Cochin, is a testament to the rich Jewish heritage and culture that once thrived in Cochin. Elegent and spacious rooms. Gives a sense of history and heritage once being there. Food is Continental.
Nice ambience, good food. Service was really really good. We will have enough freedom. Keep it up
Great location, beautiful rooms with colonial style furnishings. Lovely helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast - really light crisp dosa.
Stopped by for lunch and a beer this afternoon, really great service! The food was fantastic - we had a malai kofta and pulao rice, some paratha and raita and everything was super delicious. Definitely going back for more.
Great place to stay and good food. The Koders are a famous Jewish family, prominent in New York now. This place is a window into an older world, magical in many ways.
One word, wow! Stunning, charming, tranquil boutique hotel with wonderful grounds, charming gardens (with pool) in historical building at walking distance of main Cochin attractions. Room (tower) spacious, light, quiet, nicely decorated...
Set in fort Kochi, would definitely keep you going back for more. Good food, pleasant service.
Koder House Is A Jewish Restaurant Owned By A Jewish Family. They Serve Mainly Jewish Kosher Food. This Building Is A Beautiful One, Which Was Built In 1808 By Samuel S.Koder Of The Cochin Electrical Company.
Great ambience and heritage. For residents of Kerala food is average fare. For out of towers, theyve got a lot of the local seafood delicacies.
The heritage of this red building is very unique , it was owned by the most famous Jew family in kochi maybe in india. Now it has morphed into a heritage hotel ,The food is good but each rooms have unique identity by itself.
Really Good hotel! Definitely the best we stayed in. Love the rooms and the staff. Good value. Thoroughly recommended.
Wonderful place. Helpful staff. Ethereal ambience. Absolutely loved it.
Liked the food on a very hot afternoon with chill beer Good service and ambience
Proximity to the beach is a plus. Right opposite childrens play area. Very well maintained
Food is delicious. But little expensive...Best place for sea food 😊😊
Ive had the opportunity move around this house before it was bought over. Amazing architecture, very very historical
Dont miss this place if you are visiting fort cochin
Its very silly that you have this rule tht people cannot use your restrooms if they are not stayin in the hotel. You are located in an area where lots of tourists and foreigners come. I dont think u will be losing any thing of you let a tourist use your restrooms.
Great place for western travellers, with a good variety of menu with beer and wine.
Beautiful hotel at Fort Kochi beach area. Inside looks exquisite, restaurant is pretty looking but expensive.
A beautiful old home converted into a hotel and restaurant. The restaurant has fantastic food.
A real piece of history, well kept and astounding quality of services!

Exquisite property. Rooms are large and beautifully arranged.
Nice Restaurant. Delay in food delivery waited almost an hour after order.
Place is good for couples. To spend long time chit chat and food.
Lovely ambience but food not up-to mark

Heritage
The building was a Portuguese mansion in the 1800s. In 1905, Samuel S., of a Jewish family in Cochin, was killed. Coder bought and rebuilt it to give it its present structure. When rebuilding this colonial structure, Coder had in mind the exact plans for it. He turned it into a house, a fine example of Indo-European architecture. The house has spacious rooms. Its architectural features include rich wooden floors, carved wooden furniture, and porch seats at the entrance. Other features of this mansion include floor tiles and high glass panel windows set in the pattern of a chess board. Window glass is believed to have been imported from Belgium. One of Samuel Coders grandchildren later sold it.
A historic house in an excellent location but the stay is below any standard. High price and poor value. There was a terrible smell of damp in all the rooms. The level of service and maintenance is very poor. Breakfast is poor. Not recommended
Nice to cool off, nice setting.
Superb address to visit Cochin
