Well after seeing positive reviews I visited the place. Ambience 2/5 the place was stinking.Food 2/5, I ordered Tawa fish fry on the recommendation of staff by it lacked in basic spicy forget about the taste. The fish was just crispy no salt no chillie.Malabar Parotta(2/5) was very hard and stretchy.Chicken Chettinad (3/5) very small pieces of chicken and a bowl full of gravy.Overall below average ambience and foodWont recommend it!

Nice place. Ambience is good. Staff is supportive. Up for vegetarian food.We ordered chilli fried idli and paneer chilli fry for starters.Followed by main course: vegetable chettinadu and Nilgiri vegetable korma. Korma I had in Kerala few years ago so was a must South Indian dish for me. chettinadu was recommended by Restro staff.Do try appam... it’s a kind of break really soft and chewy... Malabar parota and kothu parota were nice too.

If youre looking for authentic south Indian flavours this is the place to come. I have been here a couple of times and tried different things in each visit and I have to say that the thing that stands out is the food. Every item on the menu be it the Chicken Chettinad or the Kozhi Malli Saaru (Chicken Soup) or the Stew or the Paruppu Vada or anything really has its unique flavour and literally smells of authenticity. I can totally imagine that this is (more or less) how the food would taste had I actually had it in a restaurant in south India.Even within this culinary goodness a few dishes stood out to me; I would highly recommend that patrons try the Kozhi Malli Saaru, appam and Malabar fish curry. Furthermore there is so much on the menu that you can easily visit 4-5 times and never have the same thing twice.I liked ambience too, it is relaxed and mellow and the the dining area is bathed in yellow light. And to me this is perfect for winding down after a busy working week, makes me slow down and appreciate the finer things :)Service is an area where I thought things can be improved, but not by much, the staff was prompt in responding to requests and the place is usually not crowded so you get your share of attention. Speed of service is decent as well. I would however expect that the waiters be dressed in shoes instead of sandals/chappals though. Two can have a decent meal here at around a 100 bucks and the fact that Zomato Gold works here and that makes the deal even more sweet. So in terms of cost too this is an okay place. All in all I like Coastal Reef for its authentic flavours and pleasing ambience. The food is great and it feels good to sit in for half an hour or so and slow down. I see myself coming in to this place for many times to come.

Baani square now can truly be termed as a foodies hub with various dining and home delivery options from shakes, pizzas, mughlai, oriental, lebanese, seafood, desserts, a restrobar and Waffle Joints. This time it was our tastebuds which guided us to this seafood joint Coastal Reef.We tried the below dishes :Meen Poluchathu : Fresh and good quality sole fish wrapped in a banana leaf. Tangy flavour.Mutton Sukka : Soft mutton pieces perfectly spiced with a good tasteAppam : Nicely fermented but a little oily for my preferenceMalabar Paratha : Just the way it should be , layered and softMalabar Fish Curry : Basa fish which again was fresh and tasted relay well with Appam prepared with a yellow pastePaneer Dosa : Was a disappointment as it was soggy and sambhar was coldChicken stew: This was the showstealer of all. With the taste of curry leaf , mustard seeds and coconut milk, this was the best chicken stew I have had for a long period. Yummy !Ambience : 4/5Food : 4/5Service : 4/5To conclude , Coastal reef has silent and relaxing interiors, authentic south Indian taste full of aroma and spices.

This place is in Bank Square in Gurgaon. The food is authentic South Indian and really really good. Its just the food that makes me visit Coastal Reef repeatedly. However, the service is a little slow but the food makes up for it.The ambience is sort of old school but not that bad. Place is good to visit with family.

Service and food could have been better. Madurai Britain, Appams, Non Veg Platter were awesome. But the Fish Fry was bad. It did not have the right masala for koliwada fish dish. Giving them 5 stars for the absolutely yummy Sambar and Chutney which are very authentic like original South Indian fare. The masala dosa is nice, but the highlights are the Idli and the Vada, which again are very authentic. They dont however serve fast food throughout the day. If you want Dosa, Idli, Vada, then you have to order at breakfast time. For rest of the day they offer authentic full course meals. Definitely recommended if you are looking for genuine South Indian taste!

I can see quite a few positive reviews, but my experience was not that great. I ordered (for home delivery) appam and Puduvai prawn curry. The appam was good (but packaging was hastily done with the appam trapped between the container and the heat sealed cover). But thats ok given the taste was alright and it was was home deliveryBut the curry was among the bad tasing ones that i had. The salt was inadequate and the water was seterating from the curry. The prawn tasted very bland. All in all I may never take a chance again.

3 to 4 month ago i have tried Machar Jhol from Coastal Reef because i was late from office and the only possible solution I found in swiggy is this restaurant...that was my best experience when I tasted the first bite of it. Since then i ordered only Machar Jhol only from coastal reef. But today i ordered Karaikudi Mutton Curry, just to give a try and this dish more tastier then last one. Kudos to the chef of coastal reef for such a tasty and craving dish.

Today the diwali shopping day, a day to have fun and chill. So we headed straight to bani square near south city in gurgaon. We had been here before so today we really wanted have some good south Indian but seafood and non veg. Coastal reef is just super duper. Everything is different, very kerala. Spicy. We had the sole fish curry, chicken chetinad with appams and south Indian paratha. the chicken was spicy and in a slightly orange gravy with soft chunks. The fish was sole and boneless and mild. It has a slight sweetness and very interesting with raw mango. Both are great with appams that are crispy. The paratha or parotha are just a little too chewy for me as they are made of only plain white l flour. The ambience reminds you of all those kerala restaurants from the old days with distinct absence of the Jim reeves and Christmas songs. I kind of miss that. BTW the songs were always played though the year. Haha. I highly recommend the place.
