I stayed here for 4 years 20 days untill Covid lockdown started.My hallmates used to say it is their second home. But I couldn’t say so.Cause, this was home. My first home for those 4 years.Numerous memories. Numerous moments. Tears, joys, stories, fights, love.Whether I stay in a tent in a dessert or in a penthouse in NY, AUH 406 will always be my home.

The biggest student hostel of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology ( BUET). There are 8 hostel for students of BUET. This hostel was named as an honour to Nawab Ahsanullah. He has given land and financial support to establish Ahsanullah Survey School, now it has become BUET. This hostel is one of the oldest hostel of BUET.

This is a boys dormitory of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. The building was primarily used as the administrative building in the early years. This dormitory has two entries. The main entry has a beautiful fountain and aquarium, where turtles and fishes can be seen. The secondary entry has a big inner courtyard, which is used as a garden. The building is 4 stored at some places and 3 stored at others. I love watching the courtyard at different times and seasons of the year.

Its a dormitory for male BSc students of BUET. It actually consists of 2 halls. One is Ahsanullah Hall North and another is Ahsanullah Hall west. There is a beautiful artificial fountain at its main entrance funded by a former resident.

I am glad to be part of this historical male dormitory for BUET students. We passed our happy undergraduate years (1993-1998) merrily.

The hall is made in the shape of A. It was once called Ahsanullah Engineering College which was later dedicated for the accommodation of the students studying in that institution. The hall will give you a 1960s vibe. The menue in the hall canteen is specially good during PL(Preparatory Leave). You can find food even after midnight during that time.

Loving place

A historical place within BUET campus. Historical because of its being one of the oldest building and the largest students residential hall of the campus. A buetian can never forget his days of residing in this hall. Unique feelings of pure natural beauty, a healthy environment for study; you can only find in the halls of BUET.

I dont reside here,but the hall beside it. The best thing about this dorm is its garden... Its awesome.

Have been here for five years. Passed the most colorful days of my life in here. Its basically was first established as Ahsanullah engineering school(Now Known as BUET) the first engineering institute of this country. Later this institute became University and expanded. This building is being used as residence for the students from then.

Its a residential hostel for BUET student. About 650 students resides here. Its one of the most oldest hall of BUET. I am a student of BUET and i am an alloted student of this hall. Students celebrate many cultural festival around the year here like hall feast, colour fest, Saraswati puja etc.

A Nice & Big students Hall(Boy)

The atmosphere here is really good. students here generally share a room. usually in a room of 3. water system, sanitary system is also good. there is a indoor garden here which is big enough to let students play. but the food here is not the best. and rarely there can find news of theft. but considering all of the facts, this place is good for buet students to study from.

It is the citadel of BUET. Trueborns of Kings, Shahs (Persian emperor) and kaisers are sent here, to be a part of this hall, to be a part of a great tradition.

It is very awesome place. It is one of the oldest Hall in BUET. Students of this Hall is friendly in nature.

This was my home for the last 6 years of my life from 2012 to 2017 for studying B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering. Never felt for one moment that I am away from home. Weather is nice and the people of AULA are hadom in everywhere. I am always considered myself a lucky person to be an alumni of this hall.

Every year, around 1055 students get accepted to their undergraduate programs to study engineering, architecture, and urban planning. Of the 10,000 candidates selected to write the undergraduate admission test from an initial application pool of over 10,000 applicants, only about the top 10% are admitted. Around 1000 graduate students are accepted into their Masters and PhD programmes on an annual basis. The total number of teachers is around 600. With the construction of new academic buildings, an auditorium complex, and halls of residence, the university has continued to expand over the last three decades. BUET has been ranked 135th among the Asian universities in the 2018 edition of QS World University Rankings .
