This place will give you an excellent vibe of twentieth century cafe. It has historic significance as well. I dont know the exact year but it is really old in age. Famous writers and influencers used to sit and gossip here. A lot of influential persons, when they came to Dhaka used to stay in Beauty boarding and roam around and sit in cafe corner for snacks.I tried there famous mutton cutlet. It was something worth the price. It is prepared simply with onion and bread crumbs, give you a fresh, sweet and spicy flavor at a time. They are served with white loaf to eat with. I cut the cutlet in pieces and eat them pouring into the bread and it was really sonething delicious. And if I talk about the environment it is a cozy place, lots of people gossiping, with a old school vibe. Its obviously not a corporate place. But it will give you an good experience of old dhaka cafe. Overall I surely recommend it for the cutlet to grabe with your beloved friends, while talking about the next book you are writing to be published.
The taste is average. But 70+ years old cafe. It is worth giving it a visit.
You are here in Puran Dhaka and you havent tried the mutton crumb chop. Then, you are at great loss! Stop over thinking and try it already!
Ancient enviroment. They are running their business from last 80 years! On of the finest restaurant in Old Dhaka.Thank you 🙂
I liked their moghlai and the most popular item mutton cram chop. The shrimp chop was worth trying too. But they use the bread in all the item a bit excessive.
Food is good for mutton lovers. Its a oldest cafe in dhaka.
This place is historical. My father always went there with his friends and he told me that cafe corner is the 1st in dhaka who sell crump chop.Place is highly recommended for those people who want to feel the old dhaka atmosphere. The cafe is too narrow but the food will make your tummy satisfied.Must try items are - Crump chop, alu chop, chicken fry, shrimp fry and the tea.
Very old in dhaka. Cram chop is the best in menu.
This place is amazing for food. Tasted the renowned mutton crumb chop and it was out of the world, I had to take one more just to feel satisfied. The chop is so delicious. After that, I was advised to taste their prawn chop as well and it didnt disappoint me as well. I will highly recommend these two chops for everyone.
Quality of food was not tasty. No salt use at all. No spice. Fully rubbish. Especially their prawn item was worst.I am very much disappointed.
Honestly the place was good for some evening snacks or morning breakfast but overall i think the mutton chop rules over all the items....the taste is just amazing, its a bit pricey(due to getting overated because of food vloggers) but its worth it so that will be my suggestion for foodies to try this place and take the taste of 60+ years old recipe of fried mutton chops
I have tasted their cram chop, chicken cutlet, potato chop, bread toast and tea. Cram chop is overrated, chicken cutlet is OK but not outstanding, other items are good. The place is not clean at all, decoration is cheap, service is OK. Price is justified. I will not give any special effort to go there again.
To be honest, I just went there to taste ক্রাম চপ (Crumb Chop) & the কিমা চপ (Kima Chop).Crumb Chop was beyond imagination! Nicely cooked with the mutton and bread crumbs. Outer side of this dish was crunchy which increased the speciality of this item. Its one the best item Ive ever had in my life!It was so delicious. I, on behalf of my partner bet you that youll never find this item on any other places in Bangladesh. I suggest you to eat this item there. You can also have bread, maybe other lunch or dinner items. They also have different types of Chop (চপ). Im not sure about what they give for lunch or dinner. You can go there with your friends and have a good time eating their delicious items. Also you can have tea and relax here for a while. Its a bit small, but classic place to hangout. They also provide salt, vinegar and their special masala. The special masala increases the taste of Crumb Chop. Thats all for now. If I come here again, Ill taste different items & will edit/write this review again!
One of the oldest and popular Food shop in old Dhaka at bangla bazar area. One of my friend invited me to take a taste of their cutlet and chop. I was just curious to taste. So I went there and met with my friend then went to this cafe. This is old cafe environment is also like medium old. I was not ready to set their but my friend said me just set and taste one. So we ordered Some cutlet and chop. They served quickly with salad. After take a bit I feel like awesome. Although my friend said me they serve the best cutlet in the old Dhaka. Yes, their cutlet and Chops are really awesome. Services and price are also well. But I would love to take my another taste there with a good environment. So it would be great the authority update their interior environment.
Famous for mutton crumbs chop
Still a very popular and a crowded place. People line up to get a seat for their foods.Loved the old ambience.
Its a historical cafe in Old Dhaka City. It has glorious long run and famous in the city. They maintain their quality for long since. It is totally a different Cafe in city. They make various types of cutlets and Fries. Mutton cutlet is most favorite here its named here cramp-chap. Famous poet and writer of Bangladesh and India visited this cafe. For milk-tea in Dhaka, this is my 2nd choice.
Fish item was not upto mark. Other ok.
Very old historic place at Old Dhaka. Satisfying generation after generation with their amazing crumb chops and other items. I wish they could improve their service, cleanliness and hygiene.
You will find quite a bit taste of British Indian eras food like Cutlet. Usually that thing is quite rare in Dhaka.Place is not cozy at all, if fact its the opposite of cozy. The place is very crowded on weeken.Oh, and they serve with Fork and Knife.
Good place for ex-food of Dhaka Like katlet, chop, fries etc.
Not something to look for. Average location. Average food. You get better food in local restaurant
Food quality is good
Awesome local food. Its a old restaurant and maintaining their quality.
Foods specially Cramchap is good. But seating arrangement is not much. So it is wise to take away Foods in stead of eating here. Thanks.
Local breakfast is good. But taste is little bit decrease than earlier. Local different types of snacks are very good from the evening. I liked the tea very much.
One of the best historic food corner of Dhaka. Still its food is quiet good. The mutton cutlet, cramb chop is the main reaosn to go to this place. The tea is really great here. It serves a strong tea rather than over sweetened tea lije most of the other resturent. I loved the tea very much. Not a must visit place , but if lives around there, everyone must try this.
Good food, but the place should be more big.
It was really good
Quit Good.
Good food 😋😋
Good food, need to develop their inside environment. Still best with their signatory cram chaap 👌

Basically a local traditional place .Locals meet here and have snacks.Breakfast is considerably good.Luchi-Parata along with Vegetable tastes good.Alur Chop is also standard.Loaf toast with Alur chop and fried egg served with cucumber salad is very popular among locals.Cutlet and fried chicken is very average.Environment: 3/10Price: Reasonable. One can just give it a try.A bit overrated place.
One of the oldest place to visit for snack items or some quick bites

Old historical food cafe
If you visit Old Dhaka- you must try Mutton Cramp Chap
It is a famous restaurant in old Dhaka. It is at Banglabazar. It is famous for its various type of cutlet, specially mutton cutlet(crump chap). But potato chop is not good. There are so many options to choice your bite and you dont have to wait much, they serve quickly. There are so many historic places(walking distance from here) near this restaurant. So if you go there you can also visit these places.
My personal rating is 7 out of 10,,
Old is gold, super food
They serves very well. But price is lightly higher than the quality comparing other nearby restaurants.
