A beautiful place and enough lanai as we stayed in a oyo the view was ultimately peaceful, theres a big stone just beneath the bridge that connects both sides of the river ,sitting there and enjoying river is good.A suggestion to those who wanna visit Devprayag is a place to visit on the go not a place to stay ,during these days as the railway is being set up that part so it might be hard to find a stay as most of the hotels are full.
This is the view for lifetime. I bet you havent seen anything like this before. Such a wonderful and colorful scene of river confluence. The bold and distinct colors of rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi makes the entire place so lively and awestruck. Bhagirathi (Greenish in color) emerges from gangotri and Alaknanda (Muddy in color) emerges from Badrinath. Their confluence is known as Devprayag. People visits this place specially to take a holy dip. Nothing much to do beyond taking a dip. If you are around Haridwar or Rishikesh this place is a must visit.
Beautiful place.Devprayag is the final one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi river and both rivers thereafter flow on as the Ganges river or Ganga.Bhagirthi comes from Gangotri and Alaknanda comes from Satopanth and Bhagirath Kharak glaciers.Devprayag is one of the Panch Prayag, the five holy confluences of Uttarakhand. The lovely and divine beauty of this town attracts the lot of tourists here.
A DEFINITE stopover, whenever I am this side of Uttarakhand.Though this time, due to the ongoing construction of the so-called all weather road, the drive to and fro wasnt enjoyable at all. But, being at Devprayag Sangam always takes you on a different spiritual/emotional level.
Devprayag : Origin of Ganges one must visit.Devprayag is a holy place, where the Alaknanda river which comes from Satopanth & the other one Bhagirathi which comes from Gaumukh joins each other & their merger becomes Ganges. The Alaknanda which has dusty color & the Bhagirathi which mostly has bluish clean water joins each other. The Bhagirathi is always very aggressive while the Alaknanda is generally calm in flowing. The place hardly has an altitude of around 1300 meteers only but its a must visit when crossing the place. One can spend few minutes here watching the confluence of both the rivers. One stop at this place everytime crossing the point.
DevPrayag , The Confluence of the Gods. The Birthplace of the Ganga , The Holy Confluence of the Mighty Alaknanda River and the Beautiful Aqua Green Bhagirathi River. This holy place has its own importance due to sangam. All local stuff like fooding, clothing are available in this place. Scenic beauty gives provide satisfaction to eyes. So Experiencing the most peaceful place. Just sit beside the river and watch the flow of river and sounds whichs gives next level of satisfaction. Amazing. What a beauty of nature.hills and 2 different colour river mixing and become a river Ganga.
The place is just divine.Difficult to express in words, when 2 rivers meet Aleksanda and Bhagirathi to form the mighty Ganga. You will see calm river on one side and stormy river on other , the confluence has a different vibe. Like opposites attract this is perfect example of that.Do not litter there, if you want to take bath, carry pair of clothes.
No words can justify the beauty and spirituality of this place Devprayag, approx 75 km from Rishikesh, 75% of road is very easy and comfortable but 25% is bit tricky , this place is magic , one can enjoy the journey as it includes beautiful valley, mountain , little shops and ofcourse photography ... Easily accessible by government bus and private taxi at reasonable rate, this is a place where you can find peace and self realisation.

Devprayag is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tehri Garhwal District in the state of Uttarakhand, India, and is the final one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi river and both rivers thereafter flow on as the Ganges river or Ganga.
Uttarakhand is knows as Devbhumi. Rudraprayag is famous for Alaknanda and baghirathi river sangam.
Excellent place to visit, be very careful before you take the holy dip, as Ganga ji is quite turbulent.
Devprayag is the place where the holy rivers Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet, merge into one and take the name Ganga, making it a unique pilgrimage.Devprayag is one of the Panch Prayag or five sacred confluences of the Alaknanda river. The rivers converge to flow down to the plains as River Ganga. The five holy sites are Vishnuprayag, Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, Rudraprayag and Devprayag. The town is also the winter seat for the priests of Badrinath Dham temple. Located on the route for Chardham yatra, Devprayag attracts thousands of devotees, especially during the yatra season.
Its a divine place ❣Devprayag (Deva prayāga) is a town and a nagar panchayat (municipality) in Tehri Garhwal district[1][2] in the state of Uttarakhand, India, and is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River where Alaknanda, Saraswati River (an underground river in Hinduism) and Bhagirathi rivers meet and take the name Ganga.

No word can describe its beauty
Wonderful placed... its Gangas birthplace - Confluence of Alaknanda & BhagirathiDevprayagDevprayag is a town in Uttarakhand, India, and is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River.Devaprayāga means Godly Confluence in Sanskrit. As per Hindu scriptures, Devaprayaga is the sacred event of merging two heavenly rivers, Alakananda and Bhagirathi, to form the holy Ganga.

Nice location. Beautiful.
The place has really mesmerising view😍😍 the place has a very beautiful natural beauty. One can experience inner peace while looking at the sangam and views. A must visit place🙌🙌🙌
Auspiciously beautiful place to see rivers Alaknanda and bhagirathi meet to officially kickstart the named river Ganga.Usually the river Alaknanda would have the same color and clearity like its counterpart bhagirathi but given the amou nt of construction happening in the valley (200km rail project upto karnaparayag), the river turned out to be muddy during my visit.
In Sanskrit, prayag means ‘confluence’ and Devprayag stands for ‘holy confluence’. Devprayag is the confluence of two holy rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi to form Ganga. According to religious scriptures, Devprayag is one of the five important holy confluences. Rivers like Bhagirathi, Alaknanda & the mythological river Saraswati (flowing underground) meet to from the River Ganga. River Bhagirathi originates from Gangotri and Alaknanda originates from Badrinath, both of which are considered sacred destinations for Hindus across the world. Devprayag is the last prayag of River Alaknanda. Religiously, the site is very sacred and holds immense significance among the Hindu followers. It is believed that Lord Rama and the King Dushratha did penance here. There is an ancient temple of Raghunathji built above the confluence with massive rocks. It is believed that the temple was built more than ten thousand years ago. There is a small water spring called Baitalshila, which is believed to have powers to cure leprosy. Devprayag is also hugely blessed with divine natural beauty and showers tourists with its serenity. The place is accessible throughout the year and can be visited anytime. Try avoiding Devprayag during monsoons, when the water level rises and there are chances of roads getting blocked due to landslides. Devprayag is a small town situated in Tehri Garhwal district in the state of Uttarakhand, located on the Rishikhesh-Badrinath highway.
One of the best place i have visited so far ❤
Its out of the world place...nature at its best. Clean water, fresh air and beautiful temple. It truly is gods adobe
Its a place where Alaknanda & Bhagirathi rivers confluence and It is also The confluence of river sarswati originate from Mana village Badrinath.
This place is holy place and beautiful holy river.views are awesome. Here is also Raghunath Mandir that is holy temple also
Devprayag lies at the confluence of river Alaknanda where it meets Bhagirathi and attains the form of the holy Ganga thereon. The color of both rivers and even the temperature of water is different. U can see a lot of fishes in the clean water. Flour dough is also available for feeding fishes. It is a beautiful sight to see two rivers of different characteristics merging. Words or pictures cannot describe what it actually looks like. Must visit and see this beauty.
Beautiful scene... must visit 1 time
I personally liked this place as this was the first time I saw confluence of two rivers. It was a pretty different experience for me, as I headed towards the Ghat (Sangam), the ambience was different from Rishikesh or any other place or Ghat I visited.I will recommend, to do visit this place once in life or if you are heading towards kedarnath or if you are there in Rishikesh and like to explore new places. It was hardly 75 kms from Rishikesh. I made it from Rishikesh within 2 hours by scooter (access).
Devprayag has its own unique history. This town is a place of Pandits who belongs to Badrinath Dham. Those who do not know where the rise of the Ganges is due to them, we should tell them that the birth of Ganga starts from here after the merging of two rivers named as Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. Bhagirthi comes from Gangotri and Alaknanda comes from Satopanth and Bhagirath Kharak glaciers.Situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and the Bhagirathi, the town of Devaprayag lies at an altitude of 472 m. on the metalled road running from Rishikesh to Badrinath and about 87 km. from Narendra Nagar. The town is the headquarters of the tehsil of the same name and is one of the five sacred prayags (confluences) of the Alaknanda. Tradition has it that the town is named after Dev sharma, a sage, who led a life of penance here and succeeded in having a glimpse of God.The lovely and divine beauty of this town attracts the lot of tourists here and it is also believed that Lord Rama and King Dushratha did meditation here. For the tourists who have a devotion faith in their heart, the ancient and great temple of Raghunathji is claimed to have been erected some ten thousand years ago and is built of massive uncemented stones. It stands upon a terrace in the upper part of the town and consists of an irregular pyramid capped by a white cupola with a golden ball and spire. Religious ablutions take place at 2 basins excavated in the rock at the junction of the holy streams – on the Bhagirathi known as the Brahm Kund and the other on the Alaknanda called the Vasisht Kund. The temple, along with the other Buildings of the town, was shattered by an earthquake in 1803 but the damage was subsequently repaired through the munificence of Daulat Rao Sindhia. The temple is visited by a large number of pilgrims every year.Besides the temple of Raghunathji, there are in the town Baital Kund,Brahm Kund,Surya Kund and Vasisht Kund; the Indradyumna Tirth,Pushyamal Tirth, Varah Tirth ; Pushpavatika ; Baitalshila and Varahishila ; the shrines of Bhairava, Bhushandi, Durga and Vishveshvara ; and a temple dedicated to Bharata. A bath at Baithalshila is claimed to cure leprosy.Nearby is the Dasharathachal Peak, containing a rock, known as Dashrathshila, on which Raja Dasharath is said to have led a life of penance.A small stream, the shanta running down from the Dasharathachal, is named after Shanta, the daughter of Raja Dasharath and is considered to be sacred.

Such peaceful place. Origin of holy river Ganga after sangam of 2 biggest tributaries Bhagirthi and Alaknanda.
Peace ☮️
It gives u a beautiful feeling have a safe journey
Magical place, awesome experience
The place is wonderful. You will find two bridges there. One for walking & another for heavyweight transportation
Very attractive place for peace lover and worshippers. Two river alaknanda and bhagirathi meet here. Water is so pure and cold. Bhagirathi is green and clean and alaknanda is brown in rainy seasons.. its the place where ganga is named. Taking a dip in it will shake you up but will also give your mind and soul an inner peace, surprisingly you wont feel cold once you come out of water. You may find crowded during holy bath days...Dont enter into river in Rainy season please as it is dangerous..
Totally Mesmerized the sangam of mata alaknanda or mata bhagirathi . I am lucky i was born in uttarakhand thank u godJai badri kedar
