Being an Architect, what appealed me the most was the minimalistic approach while designing this place. The place is nestled among huge trees and the property is on a river bank (Alaknanda). The rooms were very clean and had all the basic amenities. The staff was very helpful and while checking out they provided bottled water and some fruits for our onward journey, these little gestures make this a special place. The food was delicious, healthy and homely. Please do visit if you want to be with nature. The meditation space and the library are perfect for spending some quality time alone. Hats off to the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Saini, who are full of life and they actually waited for our arrival, just so that they can meet us and then leave for there home. Thank you Mandala for the lovely memories that I will cherish for a long-long time.

My review of Mandala will not be so much about what it offers as a property and how fantastic the location, interiors, food, hospitality are (all of which is in fact the case)…but something else, because it’s rare to have such experiences at hotels.It’s said that there are some places where you will land up only if it’s meant to be…and WHEN it’s meant to be. One of the best homestays I have stayed at. I went with my family and we were lucky to find the hosts there. We went in as guests and left as family.Highly highly recommended. A real retreat.

Perfect getaway for someone in search of a peaceful, luxury escape from the city life. Mountain views, tapering down into a river, sitting amidst a mango orchard- this is the place to be if you want a quiet hideout. Leave your laptop and office gadgets home folks cause the connectivity is not what you come to Mandala for (and you will find network with great difficulty). The place has gorgeous interiors and warm housekeeping staff. Food is delectable.If the direct routes are open, its a 6-7 hour journey by road from New Delhi

We had booked this wonderful abode for our parents for 3 nights. They had a wonderful stay at the Mandala.. be it the property,location or the accommodation , everything was welcoming with love.. they have mentioned how the hosts take interest in every small details to make the stay more memorable and warming.. Special mention to the chef for cooking delicious food for all 3 days. A truly divine experience

The Mandala is one of those boutique places which give you the experience of a home-stay. The hosts are extremely accommodating and the place has a very different vibe. This place gives you the freedom to disconnect from the madness of the world and go inwards into your own being or spend those beautiful uninterrupted moments with your partner or loved ones. It is all about community building where you sit together to share a meal at the table with other guests.We welcomed 2021 this year at the Mandala and it was a one-of-a-kind experience! We ended up making some great friends with the other guests! We had booked the Grove Suite which is a beautiful room with attached study and a hot tub which made our experience luxurious and comfortable!Highly recommended!

I’ve written a lot of reviews in the past, but this one’s different. This is not a review but a note of appreciation for everything we experienced at MANDALA. Everything from the lovely traditional welcome to the enchanting property and wonderful food exceeded our expectations. The numerous conversations around the dining table and at the fireplace elevated the MANDALA experience. Three nights seem to have flown by in this home away from home. We’ve left a piece of our hearts behind here at MANDALA.

A perfect place which is created, nourished with so much love and warmth and feels just like HOME. The beautiful stay is surrounded by majestic Himalayas and Alaknanda river flowing along with makes this sight truly magnificent. The food, cleanliness and hospitality is one of the finest i have ever experienced. The food is organically prepared with fresh ingredients, which makes it so savory and delicious! The place has an exceptional beauty and energy that leaves you calm and blissful! Truly had an amazing stay! Cannot wait to go again.

Amidst the serenity of the lush green Himalayas freshly showered by the July monsoon, we got a fantastic escapade from the din and pandemonium of everyday work - we got a fortunate opportunity to spend our weekend in the Mandala House. From the very courteous greeting by the Estate manager and the warm Indian welcome by the Hospitality staff, I knew that we had been blessed with an eventful and soulful Sunday.The feeling got stronger as we were ushered from the driveway through the Main hall to our Retreat room - Prana. Each element in the Resort was so thoughtfully, aesthetically and passionately thought through so one keeps musing about the artistic taste of Sahni family. The pool with its graceful wall, with the waterfall beside it was a relaxation from the semi-humid weather.The buffet, the cuisine was so salubrious that the inmates of the Retreat couldnt help taking few extra servings. And the staff was so hospitable in accommodating to your taste pallete. To top it all, we were presented with sumptuous Aam-ras from the freshest mangoes of the orchard from Mandala.The meditation room, the Shivalaya and the roaring Alaknanda just before it meets Bhagirathi was the show stopper and are a chapter in its own. Salute to the thought process of Mr Mani & Mrs Madhulika Sahni and cheers to their kids Divya, Dhruv and Waani for gifting India, one of the best, lavish and soulful retreats in Devprayag. Im honored to have gone there with my family and would give my highest recommendation for the Mandala House should you visit Uttarakhand.

Their music, books and the venue itself has some very special energies! Even more remarkable, amazing and gifted is their staff. They are always smiling and look after u likr family. I had tears in my eyes when I left Mandala. It has left a mark on me (good one) and I can never forget my time here.Mandalas meditation deck and swimming pool area creates the most beautiful shifts and centres you in the most subtle way. The experience of the place starts right when you see the main door open. Located in a very ordinary location at Dev Prayag, the moment you get in, one feels that one has been transported in another world. The place mesmerises you and one feels so good by the welcome the team extends. All rooms are well designed and decorated. The food is delicious and is served with great warmth. The staff is courteous and takes care. The hosts are extra ordinary and go all out to make guests comfortable. All in all Mandala is an excellent experience. Would highly recommend.

Its been a week since we left Mandala, but theres not a single day when I dont miss it. It had become a home away from home. All credits to the beautiful couple - Mani uncle and Madhu aunty. Being in their presence you would know you are in the presence of love. Mandala is a special place, with just 5 rooms, sitting in the quaint village of Rod gaon, it allows you to truly rejuvenate and connect with yourself. The space has a meditative vibe, the moment you enter it feels you are engulfed by this force of love and calm.I could dedicate an entire review to just to the food, their chef Nautiyalji deserves all the credit to cook simple food but with some magic that I am trying to replicate the same dishes at home even today.The rooms have a nice bohomian Bali vibe to them. the photos dont do enough justice to the view and vibe of the place.The view of the Ganga from the rocks below Mandala add the mystical charm of the place.Lastly, as Madhu aunty and Mani uncle came to see us off with a food package so that we dont have to eat outside on the way, auntys words reverberated in my head - everyone who comes here should take something back. We took back a lot of love and memories that we would always cherish.Looking forward to our next visit!

I have been traveling to mountains alot and I have found everything here peace, comfort and homely feeling. Whole place is designed and created with so much love and its present in every corner of the property. Rooms, Food, pool and hospitality everything is perfect. Himanshu Ji and Chef Uncle felt like family.In this difficult and unexpected year 2020. I consider myself blessed to stay here. I came back with so many memories, peaceful Meditation experiences and a desire to go back. And most importantly I saw Geeta and Shiv Puran in reading corners and I ended up reading few Shaloks and now I know why my grandfather tells me to Read Geeta all the time.Thank you for offering us your place.If youre planning go here, stop planning just go!

This place is a pure delight and the service, the surroundings, the food, the people - everyone will make an effort to serve you with utmost care and happiness. Mandala is truly an experience.PS: Travel Hazard - Travelling from Delhi/Gurgaon will take you around 12- 14 hours to reach Devprayag as the fastest route is under construction. Driving right now is very tiring and the roads are a mess so plan accordingly. Usually it takes around 2 hours from Rishikesh to Devprayag but for now the journey is of around 5-6 hours.

Any adjective to describe this place will fall short in doing justice. Staying at Mandala, is a lifetime experience. Nestled in one of the quaint villages of Dev Prayag, this place is ideal for anyone who is looking for a getaway from the city’s madness. For people seeking true nature, spirituality, adventure etc. this place offers it all. The place is built to promote local culture and lifestyle, and it’s a true winner in that sense. Mandala is done beautifully using local elements and still gives a plush feel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Food is vegetarian and exceptionally good. Small Walk from the main building to the holy Ganges is beautiful. However, the real star of the entire place is the team that runs it. Mr. And Mrs. Sahni are the nicest people that one can meet. Their energy and smiles are infectious. The service team comprising of Himanshu, Gaurav, Kulanand and chef Nautiyal provide heartlfelt experience at every opportunity. It’s a place that should be on top of everyone’s bucket list. We can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended !

This place is paradise in hills ....My parents visited recently and as per them this is a fabulous property which has been done to highest standard. Property has outdoor pool and big Orchard plants all around ... Ganges river flows next to the boundary of property ... my parent are so impressed that they want to return back next year . Highly recommend to visit with friends and family ...I was not in country when my parents travelled , otherwise I would have joined them too .. I have heard so much that I plan to visit soon ...One more tip , the caretaker makes fabulous food 😊

It was an awesome experience which i never had before.Such a calm place in the valley with the river flowing down the resort.We were there for 2 days, the kind of treatment/ hospitality given to us by the staff was unmatchable.The staff is well behaved and they make you feel like a home away from home.The food quality was like any other 5 star hotel.The cottages/ rooms are designed in such a way that you always have a gigantic view of the hills and the river flowing down.You completely change your perspective the moment you enter inside the Mandala, its like another world.I would recommend to visit atleast once, rest i am sure you would want to visit again & again.CheersBye
