Worst hospital. Poor management. Careless staff. No treatment.Graveyard for covid patients. Insufficient beds, incompetent doctors, no remdevsivir and negligible ventilators. Most of the patients admitted here lost their lives(even those who werent seriously ill).

Stanley Medical College (SMC) is a government medical college with hospitals located in Chennai (Madras) in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Though the original hospital is more than 200 years old, the medical college was formally established on July 2, 1938.Stanley Medical College and Hospitals is one of the oldest centers in India in the field of medical education.  The seed for this institution was sown as early as 1740 when the East India Company first created the medical department. The Stanley Hospital now stands on the old site of the Monegar Choultry established in 1782. In 1799, the Madras Native Infirmary was established with Monegar Choultry and leper asylum providing medical services.In 1830, philanthropist Raja Sir Ramasamy Mudaliar endowed a hospital and dispensary in the Native Infirmary. In 1836, Madras University established M.B. & G.M. and L.M & S Medical Courses in the Native Infirmary. In 1903, a hospital assistant course was introduced with the help of the East India Company. In 1911, the first graduating class was awarded their Licensed Medical Practitioner (LMP) diplomas.In 1933, a five-year D.M. & S (Diploma in Medicine & Surgery) course was inaugurated by Lt. Colonel Sir George Fredrick Stanley, a British parliamentarian. The school was named after him by the Governor of Madras Presidency on July 2, 1938. In 1941, three medical and surgical units were created. This was expanded to seven medical and surgical units in 1964. In 1938, 72 students studied, and then from 1963, 150 students were admitted each year. In 1964, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the President of India, laid the foundation stone for College Auditorium to mark Silver JubileeCelebration.In 1990, the Institute of Social Paediatrics was established. Initially established as a centre for children and for improving research programmes. The institute houses several departments of the hospital including nephrology, dermatology, and neurology and provides treatment for adult patients from Stanley..

Hospitality wise its a great ... treatment for covid 19 is more good than expected can say as excellent.but from the ward boy/women till security guard people keep on asking money again nd again they dnt Even remember the face that I just gave them.. outside ward and inside the covid ward its too much...I like the way of doctor how treat us .. doctors and nurses r too gud ..

Worst collage ever, at caltural time students are drinking and smoking worst toliet ,audithorium and stage

I was fortunate to be a student of this medical college. I had learnt a lot and most of it was because of my professors who were always interested in teaching. So much of clinical pathology was available in this area. Only thing I missed was poor radiology infrastructure.

Worst people ever seen, staffs wont respond properly is this how they treat their house people, as if they are working for free of cost, they treat the patient with carelessness ,people are dieying daily and bodies are moving out why is it so playing with human life, is this for govt has built this hospital, what are the health department of tamil nadu doing???

Doctors are good. But facilities are very bad. Especially normal ward. I have found lot of bedbugs. Asked ths issue with worker thy nt provided any responses. Govt has provided all facility but hospital maintenance is too bad.

It is a poorly managed hospital, worst for the patients. Dont trust the reviews before. They were given by medical students there who enjoyed their days in the college. They would have never thought about how it will feel if they were a patient there. I am sure none of the patients there will be able to give reviews here. Some of the Departments are good, and with available resources, they do their best- Gastro, Nephro, Hand surgery, surgical gastro etc...-general medicine is very bad.
