Just the best bbq in Chennai. Best experience with so much of unique dishes and special fire pan and nitrogen biscuits. Also the best ambience.

Yesterday 15.8.21., i went to coal barbecue, omr with my family and nephews family. Fantastic dishes were there to taste but we were not in a position to taste all the menus that was presented. Infact we missed out few good dishes due to stomach full. Enjoyed every minute over there.

Staffs are very welcoming and cooperative. They manage to arrange a best table for a specific number of group at any time. They give ultimate completeness of a birthday celebration and provide complementary came and lot of exotic juice glasses. The ambience is very charming with very tasty 😋 food items, especially the barbecued mushrooms and crispy corn.

A bit disappointed as the service was not very great. The people at live counters cannot understand any language.. also its not okay to have a worker that doesnt understand local language or at the least English. This complaint was also raised to the Chef who asked for feedback, only after this the Kulfi rolls counter even opened. Hope Coal barbecue improves in this aspect.

The interior is superb. Its very big and specious.All the staff behaviour is nice including Babbal who served us.They have a large variety to choose from. Taste is also very nice. Their dessert collection is also very large.They have fire pan at the end which is not good. Atleast i din like it.They have parking space.So overall Very good. Highly recommended.

Great ambience and comfortable seating. But the food is something i have had too many times. The taste is very familiar and not the best, but good enough to stuff your stomach. I liked the ice cream and honey chicken... Otherwise everything else feels mediocre. Friendly staff, actually too friendly that we were asked by 6 staff members individually how the food was.

The biggest of all the coal barbecues in chennai. You can book your seats in advance here. Monday and Tuesday the price is little less whereas on other days pricing is above 800. However, the variety given here is beyond par. Good place to visit if your number is huge or if you are partying especially. All regular items available along with few special items like panigaram, pizza and juice varieties. Staffs were really friendly. Experience was good.

Starters were amazing!!! Especially chicken starters.Too many choices for starters and maincourse, every item is mouth watering.Huge range of deserts and ice creams. Absolutely amazing and delicious. Foodies should not miss this and should definitely give a try.

I booked a table (lunch) for 05Oct then found out that it is limited to 2hrs (12pm-2pm). With so many dishes to offer how can a family completely enjoy the food with loved ones within that time. One cant rush things at a hotel and will feel embarrassed when hotel staff come up and ask u to leave after 2hrs. If hotel cant have sufficient tables dont take the booking. Just for sake of business and money, people coming there cant be restricted to eat everything in a hurry without enjoying ample time with family. With such a large bill on buffet one would certainly look to taste every food at service and make it count. I dont think that can be done at leisure with 2hrs time slot. I needed to cancel my booking and choose some other BBQ.

The food & ambience was amazing, you can eat each and every food they have.. Just we want to pay the buffet amount of each.. I thoroughly enjoyed the foods.. They also have desserts.. so go and enjoy with your family.. especially try honey chicken wings .. it is must try..

Some excellent service especially MrHakim.. But the quality of the food has reduced.Crispy potatoes were not crispy at first and they had to get a fresh plate that was much better.

Coal Barbecues had lost its sheen post COVID. They are not the same as how it used to be.We booked a slot for 2:30 - 4:30 on a Saturday and the service was quite lousy. They were very hesitant to serve the starters like how they used to serve erstwhile. The servers kept constantly asking if they can remove the grill within 10 minutes of keeping the grill and serving one round of starters. We asked for some second serving of Kebabs and Fried corn and they took 45 minutes to come back that too after we had to go to the manager and shout at him.The Nachos, Fries counter had its filling done onely once and later even when kids went and asked for the guys they kept saying that they will fill which never happened. Ultimately it was clear that they are just shooing away people.They earlier used to have 3 dessert counters to manage the crowd. But was wondering that on a Saturday they ran just one counter and that too they were not refilling food properly and made guests wait and fret out and move on.Same goes with their signature Fire Paan/Nitrogen biscuits. None was served and when we asked - they kept saying it will come but we only were asked to pay the bill by 4:20 untill when it never came.All in all, it was an experience best to be forgotten and Coal Barbecue was no more a place to enjoy a good buffet. The experience has gone down to drain and they are now no more entertaining to give families a better experience for the price they charge.PS : The jazzy positive reviews in the recent sections are mostly from the recent mushrommed up Youtubers and they all either seem to be paid or influenced. I personally see that one of the recent review was made by a person who was shooting on the same day i was there along with their staff who was escorting them. So dont get carried away.

Really its a great place to visit with your friends and family members.The ambience is great looking and you can take lot more photos too inside.

The Best Non Veg buffet i ever had in Chennai.

Their service was very good. But compared to timings, service before 9pm is much more goods than after 9pm. I booked table at 9pm to 11pm slot. At 10.30 they started closing. So I prefer you to be in there before 9pm. I booked table for a birthday party. We went a 3 heads l, theres upto 10 people accommodance.

Literally worst experience on 25th September, 2021 at Navalur.1. Starting from the booking. I had booked for 2.30 pm slot for 2 and when we reached there we saw 250 people standing in the reception. I thought like they were preparing for a New Corona Cluster. If we have booked then why should all wait outside where there is no place to wait even.2. Coming to serving it started only at 3.00Pm where the appetite was almost gone.3. Live counters deliver food very very late like mostly after the main course but say max 5 to 10 mins4. Starters were all half cooked totally waste5.we asked for roti around 3.30 and it was delivered at 4.00 where we had almost completed Main course and were about to start desert6.desert section was another mess. Nobody was happy serving. Nothing was refilled in desert section. Icecream Roll section no one was available. Total waste.7. Signature deserts were 2 important dishes nitrogen Biscuit and fire pan and they both were not served.8. Overall it was a literal waste of 1558 rupees. Pls dont go to this restaurant. They lost their credibility post lockdown I guessOverall experience 1 out of 5

Its the largest barbeque I have visited. Very spacious, stunning ambience, delicious food, amazing staffs. It is know for its nitrogen biscuits and fire beeda which will be served at the end of your meals. Neatly maintained restrooms.Most suitable for family and friends get-together. My advice is that better book on weekdays, weekends will be too crowded.

Nice ambience. Dishes are excellent. Best service staffs are very kind and make you feel comfortable. we loved the desserts. Theres more variety to choose. All the safety measures are followed in the pandemic .We had a great day.

Service started with a 30-minute delay the last time I went, but they wound up within the usual timeframe, so it was a bit of hurry towards the end. It might be a one off case though, as I have never experienced it before. Rest, the menu was as usual and good and crowd to full capacity.

Visited Coal barbecue 2 weeks ago just to taste honey chicken wings.It was a pleasant surprise to have few more good tastes too.The welcome drink was not too cool enough. But ok as a complementary drink.Then came the tandoori chicken which is damn tasty when taken along with mayonnaise.Mutton sheek kebab is so soft and deliciousFish is also soft but not as delicious as sheek kebab.Honey chicken wings again ultimate.Cheese potato and corn were also good.The live counter food were also nice.Only thing which I found bad is the dum briyani. Not even par.. coal barbecue should definitely work on that.Rest of the main dishes were nice.To end with Pan ice cream is a feel good thing

Food wise the place was good but didnt love upto expectations. The pastas werent very flavourful,icecream rolls had too much of essence and the slider bun was too dry,seemed like it wasnt freshService was also not so good,as even my fresh plates with food were being cleared as I was up in the live counters.

The place is situated right on the OMR road, very spacious and one of the biggest barbecue places in Chennai. But that is also their disadvantage, the place is too much crowded on the weekends. The dishes are very good, would rate them as better than even Absolute Barbecues, but they lack pathetically on the service which pulls down the satisfaction when you visit the place.Live grills and starters dont get served as fast as you would like, sometimes the personnel just reply that the kitchen is closed. They have to close for lunch and start preparing for dinner which is understandable but closing out the desserts when people are still eating is not acceptable. We got a seat at 3pm on Saturday, and were almost asked to close and leave by about 4.45.P.S: Kitchen closes for the live grill at 3.30. They clear out Main course by 4.30 and desserts by 4.45 5.

Gone there after reading some some good reviews, hope those all written by restaurant guys.Except Prawn/tandoori chicken all are below average.Fish is worst to the core because of its raw smell.Chicken on sticks are rubbery.Cajun potato is completely burnt on first time, we thought by mistake, but unfortunately that was for the second time as well.Main course, my god very worst......Live kitchen is average and pizza counter boy doesnt seems to be working, whenever we ordered pizza, he says 15 mins with hid rude and idiotic voice...Deserts are below average and I have never tasted the rabri sour, thanks for the experience CB.Even in dream Ill never think of CB.....Very very worst experience, we havent cooked the meat in BBQ, we burnt our money in Coal Barbeque.🤬🤬🤬😡😠😡😠

Ambiance of COAL BARBECUES is so cool. The starters are superb awesome, the grilled items, Kebab, grilled chicken, prawns, Honey chicken are 🤤. This is one of some best place for celebrating special occasions.The main courses and desserts are also great. And the Nitrogen ice cream, Pan ice cream, Kulfis also nice. Its better to book a table before you reach there.I recommend this place for a try.

28th of September I went to coal barbeques OMR navalur Branch they didnt serve food hygiene especially the honey chicken there signature dish they serve the whole costumer for rotten chicken its smell like hell I have vomited and compline to the chef after that they serve good peices and they also not serve us veg barbeques I am really disappointed About that particular Branch not all branches

Worst eva experience,only added advantage is some extra menu like pizza,burger,smoke biscuit and momo.I used to frequently vivst ABs, but after along try we went to Coalwe were so excited to be there,but we did a big mistake by booking 9.30 slot.Dining itself started around 10pm, for name sake they strted serving within another 30 mins the store chef came to us and informed that we are about to close the main course can yu please confirm whether yu completed or not.we are surprised by ther bad approach.They dont wanna know how satisfied is the customer and sharp 10.30 we got bill to our table.After seating arrangement , no one stood after our table.for a special occussion we went their but everything were messed with their behaviour.When i wan giving feedback also they are not ready to convince us.At end of the day they want to make money out ,thats it.Their ultimate aim is Money making not customer satisfaction.ABs are far far great from this they run behind each table and customer to serve them better.

Car parking available for few cars only others should park on roadside only. After we reach we have to wait for 15 to 20 min and no one will atten u only we should go and ask them and no person wi be there in reception.Food taste is good and fresh but for every starter we should wait for 10 min and they will keep 2 to 3 sticks in each stick one or two piece chicken or fish will be there.Everytime we should call that person and ask for starter they will try to fill only corn and potatoes dish others we should ask few times but after asking also they didnt give few starters and In some time they are saying its closing time and starters is over and they are taking out barbecue stove . Coming to main dish everything is ok. But ice-cream for that also we should wait for 10 min and only few favours is available.In pizza section also same thing they also saying come after 15min .one more thing over time is limited for just 2 hours when we are going with family surely its not possible to enjoy and eat within that time .overall compare to coal barbecue I like barbeque nation their services is very good superb and they dont have any timings .

I have visited this restaurant twice for our office party. I love the food. All the staffs are very cooperative and friendly. Food is awesome with so many varieties. Spicy chicken is the best and momos are delicious. Even the Chief himself would be on round to interact with customers about food and quality. Do visit. If you are Bengali then please know that maximum staffs are Bengali there.Very good hospitality.

One of the best BBQ I ever been, they got lots and lots of varieties to try with. Best place if you are a vegetarian, I mean it. This place got lot of veg stuff which other similar place dont offer. Be on time to enjoy the full potential. Fire pan and smoke cookies are my favourite. Live pizza counter is something unique.

As per my experience I would say this is the best BBQ out of all in Chennai. Perfect ambience. Tasty food. Great service. (They are good only in Hindi)Honey garlic chicken and honey baby corn is their signature. Went for friend birthday treat and cake cutting song for weird as usual 😂Overall it was a happy experience!

Nice dine out experience

Its very popular, hence very crowded and noisy. I wouldnt say it was bad, but not choosing it again. The service is not that great. You see people in yellow and red flying and dumping things on your plate. Half of the live counters are closed. The ppl on the open counters are least interested to serve you. If you go with family, you end up feeling intimidated and out of place. Just not worth the effort.

Today we experienced pathetic situation at coal barbeque, we never expected such a huge crowd, and people were just taking food directly using their hands and even the spoon which was kept to serve any dishes were directly used to put it in their mouth which was really disgusting, these things could have been avoided, even though I complained to manager it was not taken so seriously. Not a right place for people to go during this situation

Dont come with big expectations. We went there as we heard its one of the best BBQ... But no its not! Just average taste and not a big spread. There are other better BBQ in OMR.Main course spread was much and also curries were not that good.

Coal barbecue is one of the place where a quality time can be spent with an excellent quality of food and fun. There are so many varities of food items present in this place that even just tasting each and every item as a sample makes your stomach full. The taste of food items are so awesome and they maintain the same taste every time I visit this place. The ambience, the service, the hospitality and the food are so awesome that I visited almost thrice in 10 days. They keep adding new items in the menu and its a good treat for both eyes and stomach. The price per head is also cheap compared to other barbeques and they offer some coupons also which will still save lot of money. Happy to visit this place again.

Worst decision we made to visit on weekday. It was a disaster. We made reservations for 9PM n got table by 9.15. Bbq starters were served after 9:30. Eventhough there were many table empty we were made to wait till the first set of people finish their dinner. At this point itself we got irritated. Coming to food, bbq starters are okayish today. Cheese potato was worse, white sauce pasta was sweet and bland in taste even after asked to change it. Welcome drink was just water with a hint of sweet taste came out of it. Rest of the starters are just ok. Pizza was very hard, the veggies were not even roasted. Seems like they baked base and put some veggies over it n served, another disaster. Main course was surprisingly good compared to starters, biryani and kuzhi paniyaram was really good. Ordered naan, it came out very hard and we were unable to chew. Coming to desserts, gulab jamun was not smooth, it soaked a lot of syrup and like a flour paste when we ate. Pastries were okay. No nitrogen biscuit or fire paan served. No one paid attention like they did earlier in asking any occasion to celebrate. And adding oil to fire, we waited 15 mins to pay bill. I decided now, never to visit coal bbq again.

Before we complete the bbq starter we have been approached with the bill and asking for whether I am going to pay with cash or card . . Thats really embarrassing . . Staffs are completely crazy on running behind the crowds requests . . Every thing was delivered late . . Food taste is inbetween great and okay . . . All together we had a very average experience.
