This restaurant is nothing just a showcase, just for taking pics and enjoying the rooftop view, you can plan here just for that. I just went there and had couple of dishes... The Non Veg platter was okay just the chicken and prawns was good the lamb and fish was over cooked and the whole platter is priced over 1500rs where the quantity is very less and the main disaster is that 20rs Kindly mineral water is billed 150rs, which is not mentioned in the menu card if you call the manager and you ask they will say this is what the management decided. We had two water bottles where the MRP is clearly mentioned 20₹ but we have be billed 300₹ for that whereas my mint cooler is 250₹. My only suggestion book a table, go there have some desserts, enjoy the view and come back the main dish and starter are just having the fancy name but its not anything special. And one more suggestions never ask water bottles there. If you want to visit a good food and okaish rooftop view try Sholinganallur Top view, the restaurant is not this much architect but it had decent menu and not over priced.

What a pleasant dinner it was! A day to remember and stunning scenic sights to behold your mood. Waiter doing perfectly fine. Kudos to the team and chefs and sous chefI have seen they are handling the guests so well. Adjacent table guest were notorious and complaining a lot. Chef came in situation and clearly explained them also the manager doing good job on explaining with patienceWe had good day anyway but I too would be lil more happy if the food is served extra hot ( considering that we are having outdoor IYKWIM)

On a dry and not so windy day in Chennai , you can avoid this place. Gets sweaty after a point of Chennai . Not ceiling and limited table fans available. Few mosquitoes here and there. Not a neatly maintained pool water. Food was fine , no issues. Service was good too.

I visited the place in Jan, 2019 and got blown away by the cold breeze and the Skyline view from the roof top. The inside sitting area is good too with royal look and live sea creature counters.Now the issue is that the good things end here. The food is okay at the least with very small portion sizes . For the amount they are charging, even the ambience doesnt sum up well. Even the food menu is so short with very minimal options.The service is decent that you get to see in even regular restaurants. The music is good.Conclusion: Go only for the view and during winters.Food -3/5Food options - 2/5Ambience - 4/5Service - 3/5Cost - 2/5

The quality of the food was very mediocre. The place was shabby, too pricey and lot of mosquitos. Very bad experience.The grilled fish wasnt tasty so as the chicken. Neither hot nor spicey. The pesto chicken was decent. The biryani in the end was the saviour. Paid 5K for three n decided never to step in.

This restaurant used to be one of my favourites a few years ago, but after yesterdays disappointment, I have vowed to never go again!Food : Fish & Chicken Tikka had a lot of superficial masala added to it and it wasnt well marinated, thereby giving the sense of eating food soaked in masala. However, chicken biriyani was extremely flavorful, the rice had a richness to it and that in itself gave some sort of solace in the end.Ambience : We were given a corner table which at the outset didnt seem an issue but then we were taken on a ride by the incessant biting of the mosquitoes. Upon informing the staff, we were hooked up with a pole mounted fan which doesnt offer any help. Upon further complaining, no solution was provided. Therefore, we left as soon as possible.Table reservation : There is an option to reserve a table via zomato (but I presume the hotel doesnt want to offer the zomato pro benefits) so table reservation doesnt go through. Booking via dineout/eazydiner is apparently the first step of the two step booking process which requires one too further confirm the reservation by calling the restaurant. (Defeating the whole purpose of the simplicity offered via these platforms).So to sum it up, if one just cares about the view from the top, this place still remains ideal. But for everything else, its not worth it anymore.

A awesome place to relax and enjoy especially the rooftop, the rates were nominal, a good polite service by bearers a well maintained lobby. The food was well served in good quantity & taste

It was a nice beautiful roof top place... we had a wonderful candle light valentines dinner... Limited menu excellent food, both continental and Indian cuisine... Ambience - one of the good rooftop restaurant in chennai... Also has indoor seating... The view was excellent... We had the chicken continental main course and Penne spring vegetables with pesto sauce... It tasted excellent and was presented well... Quantity was good enough... They have a good collection of wine... We went on a Saturday night and there was live music... Not really sure if they have live music on weekdays as well...

It was a beautiful rooftop. The breeze, the view all were so mesmerizing. The food also was good. Especially the fruit punch mocktail. I ordered chicken sizzler which was good. Crab meat ravioli was yummy. Overall it was a very romantic evening with such a beautiful ambience. Would love to visit again.

A descent restaurant just for its rooftop ambiance and their starters. The crown in residency towers is great for get togethers ! Their sea food is good and so are the non veg platters. Their mutton Briyani was descent but could have been better. Their portions are descent but the prising is on the higher side . Wash dish is upwards of 500bucks . A must try is their non veg platter 👍🏻. ✌️

If you enjoy having food in a natural ambiance under the moonlit sky, then this is one of the few places in Chennai. Rest of the things about this place are average. The service isnt good. The food isnt to a fine dining standards.

For an establishment that depends on the ambience, you would expect the food to be up to par....Sadly, we were underwhelmed. The food was way too spicy and the service was poor. They charged a 1000 rupees for chicken that was mostly bone and no meat. The service was unbelievably poor and frankly, it ruined the experience for us. We wont be returning any time soon.

Good place, ambience is good but the service was ok, not great, they didnt offer to pour water or ask us what choice we need, bottled water or normal water, even a small restaurant would come and ask us that. We ordered squid for starters and it had so much oil and batter in it, main course prawns had no flavour in it, the only food that was good was the chicken breast and mutton keema.And these people charge CGST and SGST even on service charge, when asked the manager he replied this is not for your bill alone but for everyone there should be only one gst for the entire bill amount, not a separate one for service charge. I also have my bill copy for the reference.

One of the must visit restaurants in Chennai. This is only my second time. Often Visited Bikes and barrel though. I gave 5 stars only for the service itself. We need more stars for all the other things. The view from here is extra ordinary. The staff are very friendly and ready to help you with anything immediately. Food is good. Must try the sizzlers. They are delicious. Overall Wonderful wonderful place.. Definitely a must go!!

Had a dinner buffet. Only thing that could be appreciated was the view from the roof top. Its unique about this restaurant. Other than that, everything else was quite disappointing. The buffet had only two Non-veg starters. Fish did not seem fresh at all. Chicken was relatively better but had to request multiple time to get once. So, yeah the service was not great for the price. Also the main course was below average. They had added Rose water or some similar essence to all the gravies. If you are visiting just for view, you can visit this restaurant for dinner.

Excellent roof top BBQ n bar. Good collection of liquor. BBQ is good. Be aware that they take a while to serve food. So be prepared to wait a while and order your food accordingly.

Fantastic view of the city from the restaurant. Perfect ambience to have a calm breezy dinner with the wind playing its tunes into your ears along with tasty sumptuous dishes been served. With dine and drinks its one good place in the city limits which is perfect for romantic couples, corporate dinner, friends getogethers and family crowds. On the whole a beautiful place with a beautiful view of the entire city.

Amazing Ambience and courteous staff. Prices definitely fall on the heavier end, but the food is extremely tasty. Having Zomato Gold makes the whole experience perfect. Perfect place for a night out with family and friends or a date night with your significant other. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I loved the place. Its a open air restaurant but u cant smoke cigarettes in there. The things I bring to your notice is that the place for outside dinning is small....so u need to book a table before. And the service is little bit slow.

The fantastic view ! Right up there among the rooftop restaurants of Chennai. Either go early or late ( last kitchen order is 10.30 ish) to avoid the rush and waiting time. The food was nice, but for the ambience , I was expecting food out of this world , which it wasnt. Definitely worth a visit though. !

Beautiful ambience, good food, but poor service. We had to wait for our food & keep following up. They brought 1 fish item and took at least 15 minutes for the rest of the main course by which time the fish was cold.

An elegantly designed and lit place. Dim lights, on the rooftop beside a little diagonal water pool is the best spot for a marvelous experience. Very courteous staffs, amazing cocktails, but they must work on the taste of their Indian dishes.

The space is beautifully lit. The overall ambience is pretty nice. There was a little delay for the ordered food to arrive but enough time to have a good chat with whomever you are with. The Ranch Chicken Salad is pretty tasty and the flavour gets to you. Seafood Soup wasnt that great but definitely worth trying. Overall the experience was good but the rooftop feeling isnt the same because its mostly covered and open only to one side.

Wanted to have a romantic dinner at a rooftop restaurant with my wife. After surfing the net we chose this place. The rooftop area is really nice and spacious with good views of the city. Thats the only positive thing about this place. The food is very very ordinary, portions are small, and everything is ridiculously expensive. The waiters are polite but not very attentive. I would not recommend this place at all as it is simply not value for money.

The rooftop patio has amazing views of the city, the best we have experienced in Chennai so far. Service was excellent. Good was quite good. The wine selection is okay - a bit overpriced for the quality. The restaurant opens at 6:00, we showed up at 6:30 and were the first people in the restaurant and were able to pick our own seats (which ended up being fantastic).

Great ambience in case you get your table outside for a good view of the city. No other selling point. No major food options. Will recommend a visit to the restaurant if you are in or around T Nagar. Views from the restaurant are also good with rooftop being an icing on the cake. Top view of Chennai city. Great food, nice ambience and courteous service.Only con is the music played by the band is very loud for that space. Though the singers are good, the loud volume plays the spoilsport. Suggest they have a very mild music like flute or santoor.

The perfect date place overlooking the bustling​ Tnagar landscape. The outside seating, and the water flowing is unusually romantic. Choose this place for evening dinner. Food is not the real highlight here though the food is really good. I would not go there as much for the afternoon buffets but as much I would for the romantic dinners.

We went out for birthday dinner on 22nd floor. Ambience was excellent , food was OK but mosquitos had a field day ! So people beware if you are planning on a celebration on 22nd floor. Brought it to attention of manager who simply did the routine nod and presented the bill !

I visited chennai for three weeks and I decided to take my girlfriend here for the stunning views and ambiance. I have been here multiple times and the experience was phenomenal. But, it turned out to be the other way this time around. We got the tables right next to the infinity pool and my first sight was the dirty water which has never been replaced for days. I could literally see tiny dirty things floating on it but I decided not to make a big deal out of it.Ordered the meat kebab platter, some veg platter and few drinks. The food wasnt tasting that great ; I did sense something wrong with the food but I didnt have big complaints about it. We left the restaurant in an hour and I couldnt sleep the whole night. Woke up in the middle of the night and threw up multiple times. Slept for few hours and I threw up again and again until I had nothing to get out of my system. The doctor clearly said it was the meat that you ate last night which was responsible for this chaos. It took two days for me to recover and I was scared to eat anything for the next two weeks.I am sure the meat for frozen and was kept days in the refrigerator. I would suggest everyone who visit this place to think twice. Crown has lost its charm and gone are the good days. If you are looking for ambiance, consider other places like raintree which is 100 times better. I am sorry but I had a horrible experience here.
