Authentic Tamil style traditional food, I was cruising through the space, simply searching for a pleasant spot to have lunch when I stumbled over this spot. Out front there a few group in a parklet and the scents of their food sold me. I went inside to discover another couple eating at one of the corners, and they were raving about the food. Everything looks OK. The spot is incredible and village style with a couple of corners inside, however they were doing a very decent takeout business. So I plunked down, looked at the menu and chose Mutton biryani , lamb curry and a rose milk . All were awesome, and since I like my food hot, they did and it was excessively (however at that point I requested it), yet everything I can say is that it was extremely tasty and I unquestionably will be back

Atmosphere of the restuarant was very good it looks like traditional house of the south indian people. And the dishes name also was interesting they put the traditional name for their menu card. And main thing food was very tasty but the quantity of the food is less for the money. Really you can enjoy your food here try it.

Been here multiple times. Have not been disappointed even once. Authentic Tamil style cuisine. Starting from their refreshing drinks, starters , unlimited meal options , desserts everything is excellent. The curries which they provided with the meals is sooo thick and tasty. My favorite dessert is their elaneer payasam. The place will generally be crowded , so better to do an advanced booking. Parking inside the premises is limited but vehicles can be parked on the road too.A must visit place for anyone who wishes to have a good heavy lunch/dinner.

Ambiance is good & something unique. Nattukozhi dishes are delicious. The Biriyani items are average only. Sukkumalli coffee is something not to be missed. Customer service is excellent. From the parking staff, to the receptionist, to the waiters, the whole team is treated us with a smiley faces & good care. Reasonable price.

Lovely experience. Amazing service, and delicious food at affordable price. I must appreciate the staff here, they are very cordial and pleasant. We visited Munveedu in Feb 2021. We ordered chicken soup, crab soup, chicken sukka, rotis and butter chicken and everything was yummy! We also ordered elanir payasam (tender coconut payasam) and that was delicious too. Will certainly visit again :)2nd April : we went here again for lunch and this time ordered chicken and crab soup, fish fingers for starters, fried rice and chilli chicken and desserts. The food and service was at its best again! :)

Nice ambience and we are satisfied with our orders but only thing is briyani taste is good but not upto the mark but the mutton is cooked well and other items are too good and in my next visit Iam eager that there will be change in taste of briyani.... thankyou!

Good Ambience & Lighting. Great Taste, Quantity & Quality of Food. Only downside is the Smell of Non-Veg Foods Spreads throughout the Restaurant, which can be effectively reduced by putting proper Exhaust on the Kitchen side. Other than this, everything was great!

I’ve been to this restaurant last afternoon for the brunch. I must infer that the ambience or the vibe inside the restaurant was quite good. Although the restaurant possess limited seating capacity and it’s quite smaller in juxtaposition with few other fabled restaurants of this ilk. The food on offer for the meal time at brunch seem to taste good, the non veg meals option is worth a try, whilst the appetisers were fairly priced the array of non veg starters available on the menu seem to be limited. The accompaniments provided with meals should be certainly improved as they do not provide any veggies or gravies to go with mid-day meals. Aside that the service from waitrons were spot on and satisfying enough. Hopefully the restaurant can improve further and attain the marquee ceiling in the years to come

After two years again Visited Munveedu for dinner.Interiors are renovated and looks fresh.Had my favourite NattuKoli soup,Chicken Biriyani and Koli Idichathu tasted good.Was suggested Kola urundai which I tried and found soft and tasty.Final sweet tried Ilaneer Payasam which I tasted 2 years back itself,still the same- delicious.

Tried lunch this afternoon. The ambience is traditional and different from the normal city hotels. Attukal soup is good, keema rice is the best and liver fry is spicy and well cooked. Overall a must try for the ambience and authentic food here.

Nice ambience. Food also is really good with timely service. My kids enjoyed the food very much. We went to this restaurant without any plan, but we had a good time there. They serve both non veg and veg foods. Mushroom pepper fry and baby corn 65 was really good. Cost is moderate.

One of the Best restaurant in adayar. Where you can get the old ambience and atmosphere.. but coming to the price it will cost around 1500 for a normal middle class family for 4 persons..

Their dessert is the best. Fajita ice cream and kulfi stand out. The price is little above average but worth it for the food. Calm, Peaceful place for romantic candle light dinner with mild Tamil songs played behind.

Amazing Chettinadu Meals. Limited meals. The cost is only 149 Rs. Great taste. Good hospitality. The country chicken gravy ( Naatu Kozhi kulambu) was good. But quantity is very very little. Then the Brain thick fry (Moolai) very tasty. The Tender Cocunut pudding ( Elaneer payasam) was very tasty. I thought some tender Cocunut pieces will be there. But it is completely mashed. But great taste.Good service. Polite staffs On the whole cheap and best restaurant. That too in Adayar.

Quality of food is very good, more like home made. Really excellent aroma, flavour and taste. Will have to mention about the quantity served in every portion, it justifies beyond the price and you have to be cautious not to over order and waste. Certainly a better value proportion in all aspects for the time and money spent with your family.

I had a little trouble finding the place. The restaurant is quite spacious and there was good room between the tables. The authentic munveedu setup really works and it adds flavour to your experience. We wanted to try the non-veg meals, but it wasnt available for dinner. The food was good. Price very reasonable. Overall, we had a satisfied dinner. Ill probably come back for the non-veg meals.

Food was excellent. Been there so many times and taste never changed. Veg fried rice and butter chicken masala was excellent. Non veg items also very good. Price is on little higher side but taste compensate that too.

Taste was really great at this joint. Real South Indian taste and it reflects the taste buds of Tamil cuisine.Atmosphere and ambience were great. The primitive style wall decors was nice. Tables and chairs were if bamboo and wood which gives a real native feel.The service was quick and good. Usual wait time for a dish is 10-15mins. But meals will be served in less than 5mins wait time.I had ordered non-veg meals, Idicha Nattu kozhi Kari, Mutton Thala Kari, Mutton liver chukka and Pichupota Nandu fry. All tasted great. Quantity of servings justifies the price.Must try should be meals as you get mutton, chicken and fish pieces with curry itself. Good place to hangout as a team.

First of all the location was so peaceful and a broad road. You really get a feel of getting into a manveedu. Nice themed restuarant with each and every pieces exactly vintage.Coming to dishes, it was awesome and so spicy. Really mouth watering dishes out here, especially my favorite is Nandu Poriyal which is shellless, you should defintely try that.All dishes are wonderdul and definetely recommended.

Bad service and dish taste not into the mark

Loved the setup. Exudes tranditional feel all over. Few might feel it to be little dim lit.Excellent service. Prompt. Decent serve times. Their Vazha Poo vada is a must. Very tasty. Tried out their Chicken Kheema Rice (mentioned as their special in the menu card), but I didnt find it to be special. It was nothing more than Chicken Fried Rice with kheema pieces.A decent experience all together.

Manveedu. Honestly, I should say the experience was overwhelming. I was skeptical about the taste and also about the price of the food becausr of the location. But they stumpted us with the ambience, construction style, customer service, food quality amd pricing. From today, if anyone asks me about an economical, non veg, traditional food, I WILL recommend only Manveedu.. The walls inside the restaurant are made of mud as in a traditional village home with a specific patterned kolam. Coming to food, every item was good. Tandoori chicken, Nethli fry 😘😘, kothu parota, vazhapoo vadai... OMG! Just amazing. The best was dessert and it was ilaneer payasam. This was one lf the best payasam in Chennai. A must try if you visit this place. Loved the customer service. The gentlemN was well over 50 years and the respect with which he treated our 4 year old child was just the best and cannot get anywhere in Chennai. Finally there is no tax as they are componding dealer. See the bill attached.

Visit this place only if youve enough time or patience to wait for food as this is not a typical fast food restaurant.The food served here are mostly fusion, and worth trying it for once.Had Aattukaal soup (wait time - 11 minutes), Chicken Kheema Rice & Chilli Chicken Dry (wait time - 27 minutes) and Sukku Mall Kaapi (wait time - 8 minutes).

Great food !! If you want to enjoy traditional South Indian food this is the place for you. The food was really good and the service was great. It’s pretty easy to locate. it was a great experience.

Things I feel when I visit this place1. Either the chair / table is in odd size. It felt little uncomfortable while having my ordered food.2. No kids chair is available.3. There are not many car parking lots4. During peek hours you may have to wait outside5. Tables are too close to eachother. Need to adjust my chair for the people who is needs to enter into the table behind me.6. Some dishes are spicy.

By far, one of the best Non Veg restaurants between Adyar and Mylapore. The food was tasty and homely. The price reasonable and the service is very good. People longing for homely non veg should try out at this place.

The food here tasty and spicy. The briyani had a Chettinad vibe to it and the meat was cooked to perfection. However the portion sizes for the dishes were not equitable to the amount theyre charged for. A good experience overall.

We went to Munveedu for lunch. The restaurant was full so we had to wait outside for 15 mins. We decided to leave as we were all hungry but the manager requested us to give him some time and quickly gave us a table as soon as it got free. The food was very good and the interiors replicated a village house. Enjoyed the experience.

Food is good. Their menu is little different from the routine dishes, so can try varieties. Vanjram fish curry, sweet corn crab soup, vazhai poo vadai and nethili fry are their best sellers, along with the herbal juice they provide.

This Restaurant at adyar has good starters and quite good varieties of non veg. The vegetarian food is not so great. Its quite costly but worth a try.

I went to MUNVEEDU with a group of friends.We were given a table which was in shape of U-the first I have seen so far.Staff were very friendly.Nice decor,situated in the heart of Adyar.They have a variety of dishes in the menu as well as special dishes that they change everyday.These items are mentioned in a blackboard at the restaurants entrance.Loved every dish that we ordered and the best part is that it is nominally priced.I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves food.

Best Hotel must try

Lucky to get a dish of Ayira meen kuzhambu today. The tiny freshwater fish is brought live from the waterbodies near Madurai, cooked and served fresh. Yummy with steaming hot rice...! Second time for me in three weeks.Other dishes too are mouth watering.
