It always a pleasure to visit a place amazed you.Its a great collection of 3 great historical cultures with a short brief .If you planning to visit Berlin some time these should be one of your destinations indeed .Quite big so save a day for itYou can reserve you tickets online or buy them before you enter.

Absolutely worth a visit. It is recommended to have at lest 3 hours to properly enjoy this museum and one can easily spans a whole day here. If one is interested in history of all sorts than this museum I definitely for you. 🧐😊

I spent there about 2 hours, but you can easily do more. It has four floors full of exhibits, but it is also interiors that are impresive. Nefretiti is definitely worth seeing. It was a close look on the past for me. Suggest taking a map, because navigation is hard at the start.

And such great architecture that combines a kaputt museum with after war rebuilding.Collection is also great, especially the Egyptian one.It’s also nice to see a museum that displays differently than in the old days, but the problem with today’s technology is that if fails from time to time and then the TV monitor is dark🥴.

Way bigger than you can expect. Quite a big collection of heavily focused on Egypt and BC era. The famous Nefertiti is at the second floor - no photos on that area. So many tombs, so less mummies -if your kid is expecting to see some, like mine, he/she can get upset a bit. Almost all informations about exhibited artifacts are written in German so you can seriously consider to pick a translator at the entrance.

The ticket is paid by Nefertiti chest that is amazing and a must to see. The egiptian part is really interesting and with good variety while the other exibits a bit less.

If youre a fan of Egyptian art and culture, this is a must. Extensive collections in an organized space. For me the stars were Nefertiti and the Berlin Golden Hat. They include an audio guide.

The museum tickets need to be prebooked and for a weekend you certainly need to book in advance. If youre organised there is the option of a ticket to cover all the museums on Museum Island over 1 or 3 days I think.The Neues museum was fantastic, almost as good as the British Museum with a huge amount of Egyptian and classical civilization artifacts and an eclectic mix of Celtic, Bronze Age, Merovingian and assorted medieval stuff, mixed in with prehistoric items, on the top floor.There were an excessive number of guards, about one to every eight visitors, which felt a bit strange. There was plenty of information in English and the obligatory gift shop too. We spent around 2 hours inside although by the top floor we were on information overload. Entrance was €12.

A trip in the ancient Egypt. Nefertiti is totally worth the visit.

What an interesting and inspiring place this is - the building itself is a beautiful neo-classical structure, damaged during WW2 and restored back to its original state. The exhibits are many and varied, covering a broad range of historical periods and styles. I could have spent three full days exploring this museum, there is so much there.

Its a beautiful and a huge museum. I suggest allocating at least three hours for the visit, possibly even more.

Wide variety of galleries. Well labeled and documented. Dressings and lockers available to hold personal items, handbags and backpacks (mandatory to deposit before entering the museum). Extremely helpful and friendly staff and security staff. Respects Covid regulation and security measures. The only con is the dim lighting.

It is easy to enjoy Museum. You can walk in Your own speed and spend as much time as You want, in front of exhibition. Museum it self is beautiful.

Beautiful museum and worthwhile to check out for a few hours. Collection is spread out over 4 floors and its easy to follow the floor map. Collection js about 60% egyptian and 40% other periods like stone age, medieval, viking, iron age. The heas bust of nefertiti is especially beautiful.

Whoever is into ancient Egypt civilization, must visit this museum

It was a big museum with four floors and lots of information. I was a bit overwhelmed because my tiny brain couldnt process this much new knowledge. But id love to come back.

One of the most amazing museums I’ve been to, the most popular pieces are Nefertity and Berlin Gold Hat, which are wonderful in detailes, but so many pieces from Egypt, if you are interested in History this place is recommended, there is audio guide available and its very easy to use and useful.

We spent several hours here, as we underestimated how long it would take us to cover all four floors. Main subjects at the time were: ancient Egypt, the Romans, Greek and the Germanic people. Overall very interesting. There is a free wardrobe or for 1€ (youll get the money back afterwards) you can take a locker. There is also a cafe within the museum as well as restrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful, except one rather harshly admonished my 86 year old granny to cover her nose, when she briefly lifted her mask to breath...(with no other guests around her btw, it was just us in that room and even the mentioned staff member was about 3m away from her).

The Nefertiti bust was otherworldly. Imagining the lives of the people, with no showers or running water, burning incense to cover the stench of living. I love this museum.

People working there have been incredibly kind, they added the cherry on top of the cake. The museum is wonderful, Ive particularly loved the panels with short explanations in every room. Beautifully organised. If you love Egyptian history and artefacts, ancient history and civilization, then its your place, dont hesitate to visit it! And talk to the people working there, theyre not just helpful, they just like making your visit more enjoyable :D

The redesign by David Chipperfield is exceptional and a wonder to behold—each room is thoughtfully imagined. While this museum will definitely interest those looking for ancient Egyptian items, it will also be of interest to students and admirers of architecture.

Huge collection of primarily ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the iconic bust of Nefertiti, which is heavily monitored by security.The museum itself is architecturally interesting— many traces of damage from severe shelling during WWII. Def worth a couple hours if you’re interested in Egyptology.

A lot of exponents in the museum. Hieroglyphs and sarcophagus from 1000 to 3000 years BC. Some exponents were even 15000 years BC, for example mamoth tusk. Really enjoyed the museum. The museum is quite big, so at the end it gets quite tiring

A lovely museum with the perfect collection size to really enjoy and not get too overwhelmed. Stop for a while to examine the bad reliefs and discover. Look up! The ceilings are a treat too

This is such an amazing place that it is hard to describe why it is amazing. Maybe because of the HUGE collection of items from Egyptians, Romans, Greeks, Vikings, Assyrians, and many others. Maybe because it is so big that you easily get lost in one of its four floors. Or maybe just because the museum looks so good, with very well decorated rooms. I recommend this to everyone who wants to get a glimpse on the history of mankind, from a few thousand years BC to a few hundred years ago. And if you are really into Ancient Egypt you should not skip this place if you visit Berlin.

Wonderful. My favourite museum in Berlin. Watch the ceilings when you are in. The egyptian parts ceiling and walls are like an old egyptian temple. This museum isnpure magic...the gold hat!!! And when you are watching all these artefacts from bronze and megalith era - dont miss the special exhibition MEGALITHS IN SARDINIA!!! - you start thinking about finishing anthropocene aera. What are we producing right now??? Plastic s... and technology. And other bad things which destroy the planet. Anyway: Neues Museum. Dont miss it. A must when Im in Berlin.

Huge museum ! Not covered in the Berlin pass but was worth the entry fee. Spend over two hours here I think, could stay longer or lesser amount of time depending on your interests! The museum itself was amazing the building was stunning and was at times more interesting than some of the displays. Really enjoyed it and would recommend if in berlin! Also given audio guide which is helpful and informative ! My photos dont show off how nice the museum is.

What exactly do you expect me to tell you about the museum that holds the bust of Nefertiti? Go there and see it! It also holds a golden hat if you are into golden hats.

Their collection is incredible when it comes to Egyptology and Roman/Germanic history. The modern yet more classic architecture inside is a treat and the presentation is very appealing. To find the cloak room downstairs it can be a bit of a maze though. You should definitely make sure you got enough time on your hand. I spent over 2 hours here just to see all. I can highly recommend it - you will just forget the time when you are here.

Went to see the Photographic Memories – Nubia around 1900 exhibition were in the website says; For the first time this precious trove of historical photographs is presented in the exhibition when you get to the room the photograph arent exhibit. Just a digital print of few of them on a collage (see picture), only at the description in the room explains that original pictures cant be exhibit because of preservation purposes. I dont understand why this is promoted as a photography exhibition when none of them (originals, only bad digital printing are presented). The details on the promotion of the exhibiting is misleading.

Great museum, lots to see. There is also a possibility to buy one ticket to see all museums on the museum island. I recommend that ticket if you have lots of time to spend that day. But if you just want to take your time, there would still be plenty to see in the Neues Museum. :)

Went early on a Monday morning, not to busy a few school groups there at the time. Nefertiti looked amazing up close, but no photos are aloud up close.Loved all the fabulous jewellery throughout the ages, surprising how little designs have changed. Well worth a visit.

Absolutely loved this place. Beautifully put together. Really nice selection, the best of the best for Egyptian artefacts. My highlight of course the bust of Nofretete. Very impressive when you come through the little entry and suddenly see this massive foyer and giant staircase to the upper floors of the museum. Stunning

An absolutely beautiful museum! Beautifully redone by David Chipperfield. The attention to detail in the construction of the museum makes it a wonderful place to visit for architecture enthusiasts and students as well as people seeking time in a wonderful gallery. In October, the exit was very strange and it felt like you were being pushed into a back alley. Im sure it will be different when the new construction is completed.

Really worth it! I totally recommend it when coming to Berlin.

I loved the museum and its setup. Most of museum shows Egyptian culture and it’s fascinating! We were there on Monday morning so it wasn’t crowded at all. Once you pay entrance, you can leave your clothes inside for free and take audio guide for free. The thing I resent is that it wasn’t written anywhere about the free audio guide, and the staff wasn’t offering on their own. Good thing was we asked. Taking photos of Nefertiti is not allowed.

Wonderful. Take your time to visit this museum. It has a very nice Egyptian collection of different objects. The masks and sarcophagus are impresive as well as the mummies. Also, dont forget to stop to visit cleopatras room, amazing details. There are also many other things to see in the upper levels. The estimated visit duration is 2 hours. It is good idea to buy the all-island-museums ticket for one day. The price is €18, better than buying individual tickets. Avoid lines, buy tickets online.

Museum full of Egyptian artifacts. Not as easily set up as other museums. The device and headphone to guide you around and tell you about the Egyptian artifacts was hard to use. Finding a relating number to put into device was difficult, in the end we gave up on it. All the plaques are in German as well. Other then that it was neat to see mummies and busts. They also had clothes and jewellery form that time.No bags allowed in you can use the coat check or buy a locker. I recommend buy the museum pass. This pass is available at all the museums on the island and give you entry to all of them. Pay once and save money.

Lots of Egyptian artifacts, relics, and archeology. You could spend a lot of time in here reading about all of the history. Also one of the only museums on Museum Island open on Mondays.

This museum is known for the statue bust of Queen Nefertiti. The building was reopened in 2009 after heavy damages in WWII (original building mid 19th century). The museum show Egyptian objects and papyrus, theres also a Nordic part, Greek part, Roman part, ...Many objects worth a visit.

Wow! What a rich experience! But be aware, if youre visiting with a stroller or wheelchair it can be confusing to find the elevator and see all the floors. My mom had to use it and weve noticed how confusing and poor the few signs we found are. Also get there early because the cue to ger in was huge (went on 18.03.19) and we had the luck to buy our tickets with someone who wasnt in a good mood.Positive: the head seats are included and cost free.

Sphinx, Pharaohs majestic power, Sobekhotep V... many such sculptures are available here. The most famous of them all The bust of Nefertiti is a lively sculpture which still talks with its 1 eye. This sculpture cannot be photographed for reasons unknown to me. We have Indian God Vishnus sculpture as well. Gold helmet (pointed hat) are other master pieces.

Absolutely gorgeous place to begin with. So much appreciation for the use of natural light instead of blacked out night mode like the most do the museum do. The building itself is out of this world! I love the embrace of the imperfection aka Wabi sabi approach in the interior design. The staff was a bit intimidating haha but I guess it’s the covid thing. Favorite!

One of the famous Berlin Musems. This one with mostly antique Egiptian and Roman arts. Nefertiti is to be seen in this museum, as well as other very well preserved pieces of the egiptian art.

Very nice museum and decorations in the room. It is quite big, so if you want to hear(they give you headphones for free at the entrance) or read about everything, you will probably need more than 2 hours.I rate it 4 stars because they close 15 min before it is indicated so we couldnt see the last floor, which we planned to leave for the end for a quick glance, and it was disappointing. Also, it is prohibited to take pictures of the bust of Nefertiti.Anyhow, especially if you are into Egyptian mythology, it is definitely a worth visiting museum.

Lovely place to visit! The remodel is exquisite and has managed to preserve some of the old architecture along with the new. The collection is extensive and well laid out. If you want to spend an hour to see the famous pieces you can - if you want to spend 4 hours diving into the details you can!

Wonderful museum! Dont race directly to Nefertiti. Shes beautiful but theres a lot more to see too. Its worth starting from the top floor and working your way down so you dont get too tired.

Incredible collection, really worth seeing. You can learn a lot or see what you were learning about on art/ history of art/ history classes.Just better get really really hydrated before, as they have rudiculously strict rules not allowing you to carry even a bottle of water or a snack, which is allowed in so many other great museums around the World (seriously!). You can get super dehydrated or hypoglycemic visiting the place.

The first 2 floors are very interesting, there are good audioguides which explain the things in a very clear and interesting way. The people working there were very kind and had no problem answering our questions. Would highly reccomend this museum if you are interested in Egyptian history. I loved it.

The museum had a functional lay out that enables guests to wander about but not feel lost. The audio guides need a bit of an update as a lot of the numbered displays have no audio accompaniment.There were numerous guards posted but do not mind them as they know how to keep the guests feel welcome.We were able to see the main feature, Nefertiti.

Fantastic, big, must see museum. There are many Egyptian exponents and emotions during visiting is on top. Many exponents are more then 3000 years. Inside of Museum building is very integrated in atmosphere of exponents.

Great museum. Exhibits ranging from Egypt to neolithic Europe to the Iron Age.The museum itself is worth a visit with a gorgeous redesign. I think the layout and path is unclear. You find yourself coming across different era artefacts mixed together, without a common theme.The Nephrititi bust is a must see.Didnt like the audio guides personally, but the price is included so cant really complain.

Interesting, however, it is not chronological set, but divided by themes! Anyhow, it is worth a visit. It is very well organized for the entrance, and you have to get a locker with an € deposit prior to entrance into the galleries. Also, consider a few hours to visit the entire museum, as it is quite big.

Wonderfull museum of Egypt and ancient history.

My boyfriend and I visited this museum using our Museum Passes. We were pleasantly surprised with the collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, given we enjoy that type of art. We found the collection rather expansive, given it covers many floors.We decided to grab a quick coffee from the café and were underwhelmed with the service, so wed avoid it in the future.This museum has a massive elevator, cloakroom and services, so wed recommend it to those of all ages.
