Name of the Temple Kadu Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple signifies the Forest in olden days within which this Temple has existed.It is a great effort to have developed a Garden full of Trees and Plants of all varieties. The temple was built in the 17th century A.D. by Venkoji, the brother of the Maratha King Shivaji in Dravidian style of architecture.Shiva is worshipped as Mallikarjun. It is said to be the main source or birthplace of the Vrishabhavathi River.Kadu Malleshwara Temple is sited at Malleshwaram locality of Bengaluru, India. This notable temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a veey big Shivlinga inside the main sanctorum. The temple was established by Venkoji (Maratha King Shivajis Brother) in the 17th century A.D. This distinguished Shiva temple was designed in Dravidian style. Goddess Parvathi is also worshipped along with Shiva and he is being worshipped as- Mallikarjuna. Devotees observe fast on this night and do not eat anything till night and offer fruits, flowers and bel leaves on Shiva Linga.
