Apply here directly, instead of applying via VFS Visa Agency. It’s cheaper and takes the same amount of time. The consulate won’t courier your passport after issuing Visa - you will have to collect it in person. However, VFS charges a huge amount for delivery anyway.Staff are pretty friendly. They’re familiar with all the process and happy to assist you with clarifications over the phone. Don’t hesitate to drop them a line.

I applied for Japan tourist visa from this consulate. No need to go to VFS and waste time or pay extra money. Staffs & security officers are very friendly here. No rush. No appointment needed. Directly go with proper documents & apply for your Visa. They have different timings for your visa application & passport collection. Note the timings & holidays on their website before you go. Only advantage with VFS, you dont have to go again for passport collection. VFS will courier you.You need to pay your visa fee only after you visa is approved. Or else they dont take any money.

The staff was super helpful, like the security personnel were really polite. But the agent I had to go to, an old man, was incredibly rude, he actually shoos u away when he thinks ur asking too many questions. Speaks condescendingly like he knows your up to something! Bad experience with that guy.

Consulate general of Japan is situated in Cubbon park road. It is near to metro station. It is open on weekdays from Monday to Friday. The timing is 8:30AM to 11:30AM in morning and 2PM to 5PM in evening

Its a fast service. But one lady over there demands some extra documents which are not mentioned on their website, embassy of Japan in India... They are notorious about fotos... 3 of my friends had similar experiences... She is so dry, expressionless... Also they dont give entire information on home.. dont know what s der problem to talk a bit more...

Dont waste your time going to any travel agency (vfs), go to the Japan consolate website, get the required documents, and theyll do it in a breeze.
