Anjappar is a very well known restaurant chain in Tamil Nadu for chettinad cuisine. We had came all way from Riyadh to try anjappar for their name. But had a very bad experience with them.Ordered two mutton briyani and two prawn briyani. Both were served in same rice without any difference. Instead of dum briyani they are proving briyani rice mixed along with the gravy which is like malayalis briyani. And there was only two small piece of mutton in briyani the reason they gave us was there was not enough mutton pieces to serve us. really disappointed by their taste and service. Not at all worth for the hype.Never expect the same taste and feel as what we had in Tamil Nadu anjappar. Prices are overrated and which is not worth the money and never recommend to our other state friends

I visited this South Indian Restaurant for lunch. I had Chettinad special chicken Biriyani and chicken thali meals. We enjoyed food and taste was also good. But the service is not good. Wants to improve hospitality. Food was delicious

Went for a first time for dinner, and it was a good experience. Spacious, good seating arrangements, has vibe to its environment, parking can be difficult, no WiFi, quick service and good staff. We ordered idli, stuffed dosa (chicken with butter and mutton), very difficult name dish with mutton, Butter milk and butter scotch ice cream. The items were all good. Though rabbit wasnt available. For the price, its good. Ice cream was 👍🏽. Worth a second try for sure.

Location is good, service needs to be improved. The preparation of dishes need some twist to attract diners of different ethnic backgrounds. Though the brand name is known across many countries, by adding an appetising touch may increase their clientele.

Must visit here once!This is the first Indian restaurant, who has 💯% Indian taste!They got variety of flavors!We went here yesterday just to try something new and it’s my favorite place now...we ordered Masala Dosa, Chicken Dosa, mutton Dosa , Chicken65, Chilli Chicken, some Chicken Curry , Noodles and Soup!That’s so much food 🙈 obviously we had have take away...I think I highly recommend their “Special Soup” it’s kinda tastes like Nahari but it’s some Soup, I don’t remember it’s name but waiter said it’s special here... and they have new names for almost everything!Make sure you ask Waiters about details of the Dishes before ordering...

The anxious wait is finally over as Anjappar has opened its first branch in Jeddah on 31st October 2020 and they did not disappoint. Good ambience, hygienic, courteous staff and most importantly Reasonably priced. Menu offers a wide variety of authentic South Indian cuisine with a blend of spices which Jeddah has not had before. Burnt Crispy UthhapamThis place was recommended as good South Indian food. But when they severed one of the most dish a uthhapa burnt out.. dont understand hows it even a called a chettinad restaurant ?Staff Service = Fast and the FuriousWhen you go for a dine in experience you are enjoying your time with your colleagues over meal dont expect sir your order in the first 30 seconds then after 2 minutes again coming over asking whats your order. Now the the iceing on the cake part .. all of us were still eating our meals and the waiter comes in here is the bill like he is running the race of his life ? Whats the hurry cant you see the person is still eating his meal ? Its like what new social distance protocol or what get in and out in a giffy !!Menu = Misinformation and unavailable itemsWe all went to enjoy a South Indian Thali. But they informed us that Thali is only available in lunch hour !! A big thank you for the management for not indicating this information on the menu nor its even stayed in their website the customer will get this information in his dreams that its available for lunch hour only !!Now for the juices part. Its for showcase only I guess then why bother putting it into your menu when they arent even available to order. Again its misleading and Misinformation. They only have water and cold drinks available how convenient !!I havent ever wrote a review in such a harsh tone for any restaurant but when you have the audacity to serve burnt food then expect to get burnt.

The price was good as per the quantity of food served. If you love spicy South Indian food, this is the best place to try it out. They serve chicken thali, mutton thali, fish fry thali and fish curry thali. The mutton Dum Biryani is yummy and fresh. The fish served to us was fresh too. Overall experience was great!

I visited for dinner with my family and friends,we were delight by the authentic southindian main course. The spices and flavours were extremely impressive,the decor gave us a good vibe&pleasant face of staffs also.The available dishes all are mouthwatering and delicious. Ever dishes we ate are fresh and the Gods signature of the Chef we felt,Thank you Anjappar and team for gave us a wonderfull evening with awesome dishes....

After a great wait this indian restaurant came up on arbaeen Street, As its partnof ghain restaurants and being first branch in jeddah they have lot to improve specially in their food taste,Quality and Quantity. apart from this they need to improve in their table service.for ambience no doubt it is apar from many indian restaurant in its surronding .coming to food a little disappointment in curries area south indian idly dosa okay 👌 but prices on higher side comparatively

Nice Restaurant with Authentic Anjappar Taste.Must go Place at Jeddah for South Indian Food.Especially Chicken Fried Rice,MUTTON KARI CHUKKA IS ULTIMATE. Anjappar Chicken Masala,Karaikudi special fry chicken,Egg Kothu Parotta,Vegetable Fried Rice are delicious. Ambient Atmosphere and Privacy for Family section and there service was Polite and Quick.No Car Parking in Anjappar.You have to Park outside Somewhere.We Enjoyed Mutton soup.Ghee Roast and chutneys are good.Chicken 65 is soft and Juicy.

It took my excitement precisely 20 minutes to turn into disappointment when after a visit with family noone cared to even acknowledge our existence there.Anjappad, the name is not new to me as Ive had excellent experiences earlier in India as well as Singapore and perhaps thats the reason my expectations in Jeddah skyrocketed even before it opened here. So if you guys are thinking this is a food review, let me disappoint you that it isnt, as we never got a chance to even exchange pleasantries with the waiter, leave alone tasting food.Installation of nice gadgets (in the photo) to call the waiter and to initiate billing etc is of no use when no-one is bothered to service the customers, particularly at a time when theyre supposed to be extra attentive and careful to uphold their reputation.One thing is for sure, that i am never setting foot in this restaurant again, at least as far as Jeddah is concerned. By the way, we were not the only disappointed family there, two more families waited and left in disgust and extreme frustration. Lets just say that Anjappads loss was Chennai Darbars gain; at least they know how to make their customers feel happy.

Heard a lot about this restaurant from South Indian friends. But it fell flat. Price and quantity was ok. But taste? There was unfortunately no taste in any of the food ordered. Hyderabadi Dum Biryani was more like boiled rice with mutton curry mix. No flavor, no aroma, no taste. Just boiled rice. Chicken lollipop same, not at all any taste. Gobi 95, just touch of Gobi taste, otherwise tasteless. Spiciness through chilli does not make food tasty. Totally bad experience.

They provided mobile number in their advertising of Grand Opening no body is there to take the call.I have been to Anjappar today for lunch with my colleague. We ordered Veg Thali that came cold. The staff is too confused serving three tables as he is the one only staff they had. We had to wait for 15 minutes after asking for the bill. What we got to see is wrong account of balance. Upon informing it too again 5 to 8 minutes to get the correct balance. Moreover, the staff didn’t move until we gave him the tip.Overall, total unprofessional and the food is not up to the expectations.Cant think of visiting them again.

The location is good. I went with my family.on a weekend. The service was really slow- there were only 2 waiters serving the whole floor. The food was cold by the time it was served. Also some of the items we ordered from the menu were not available..Even a simple beverage like masala chai was not available. Dont think I will.go again. There are some other good south indian places in Jeddah.

Ordered for lunch:Tandoori chicken- juicy, succulent and one of the best in Jeddah. A must try.Porotta- fresh and crispyGolden chicken in chettinad style - authentic and extremely tasty.Chettinad mutton biryani - excellent taste but slightly disappointed with 2/3 small pieces of mutton,but they were kind enough to rectify it immediately.The portions were considerably large for atleast 2 people.On the whole an excellent experience, service was equally good.

Have been here for a week to taste different types foods in their menu.Price is very high and the quantity served was very less. Sometimes had to satisfy with previous days Porotta .Fishfry meal was pathetic and hard to find a sigle veg piece in the side dishes served like sambar and other curries .Masaladosha and Ghee roast were average.Not worthy for the price they charge.Wont visit again 🙏

Veg noodles, finger fish, kulcha and corn soup are very delicious. Quantity is good. Very comfortable ambience. Service is excellent on weekdays or lunch time. Sambar can be improved. Prices are reasonable.

A good place for South Indian chettinad cuisine. Offers good breakfast options but its from 11AM onwards. The Thalis here are a great feast and a must try!

Long over due visit ... and finally went for a quick snack. My wife is from bangalor so she was very excited to try Anjappar.We ordered paper fry dose 10/10, iddli 10/10, vara 7/10 and ghobi manchorian dry 9/10. All accompanying chati and sambher are full of flavor. Anjappar it self is clean shinny utensils and friendly servers. The karrak tea was excellent.

I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. Can experience an improved service and less waiting time. However, the price is high for the quantity served.Poor service. Couldnt deliver as marketed. Price is too high and the quantity served is very less. Obviously they could do a lot better to satisfy the customers. Hope they will get good reviews as time progresses.

The worst service ever seen .waiting for everything from food to bill is tiring.food was full flop with no salt or spice at all 😐.this is not authentic anjappar .it is just a replica in name.

They might be having branches in many countries but unfortunately at this branch, we were in shock as the food was not tasty or even closer to South Indian taste. Hope they can maintain business for another year.

Due to lock down I had the experience of take away from this restaurant. Taste wise it is fine, however the price is on the higher side. Also the quantity is low.When you order the curries or dal, you wont get the roti/chapati or the free rice. You have to order it separately.

After a very bad start, they have managed to bounce back , with an improved service.Coming to the food , they try their level best to match the authentic taste of Chennai’s Anjappar and I believe they have achieved it up to 70% . Would definitely recommend !More than their Briyani, I loved their non veg meal, especially the fish curry meals . The fish curry was just out of this world. A must try for all.On the negative side, many dishes in their menu card are not available actually. Hope they cover it up soon ! Cheers

Went there with colleagues. We all were super excited but were disappointed with the experience .Out of 6 items that we ordered only one item was good. Rest were not good at all. The service was okay. Prices are high considering the serving size!If you want good food, go to Anjappar, sit for 5mins, get out, drive to Chennai Darbar, go in, order and ENJOY the food!Worst part.....they don’t even have Filter Coffee! (It was on the menu though)I want to meet the people who’ve rated this place with 5stars! Maybe you guys ordered something from a secret menu! Guide us please!

5* for the best in Indian Hotel for taste and delicacy I ever had in Jeddah.People who have control on spices can try good spicy (tadka) Chicken, Mutton, Crabs, Shrimps and Fish items.Please note the price is worth enough to compensate of taste. Start with soup and starters move on to naan and chapati (bread) with gravies then have a simple biryani and close with ice cream (no carbonated drinks please.)....I would say it will be a full treat for both stomach and mind.So, try enjoy your the food first then give me your comments.
