Any auspicious occasion would warrant a visit to this heritage temple built in 1915. The temple premise is quite huge and was renovated few years before. It gets very crowded on Tuesdays and Friday especially during the Rahukala where devotees arrive in huge number to offer prayers. A fair/jaatre is held once a year somewhere in December/January and is celebrated with grandeur.People worship with strong faith. This place reminded me of Maangadu Amman temple in Chennai. The main deity is Banashankari Amman (a form of Durga).So Tuesday and Friday are special days for worship here. On those days annadhanam is carried on. Offering lemon vilakku is a special way of worship here. Thulabharam offering is also there.Very easy to get here as this is one of the very busy places. Has good bus facility and.. Its in the foot of Metro rail station... Devotees who come here prepare diyas with lemon and cotton wick..
