Really nice to look around the abbey - but the tower tour was the best bit by far! Definitely worth the money to go up the tower and see the smaller, hidden rooms. Great views of Bath once youre up there (even if it was a bit rainy when we got to the top!)

Really enjoyed the tower tour. It was so much more than just walking up 212 stairs for a view! We also got to see the bells and clock and learn more about them, and even got to hear the bells chime whilst in the bell tower. Would recommend! It was quite popular on Saturdays though, we wanted to do the 4 oclock tour but it was booked up, so had to go for 5 oclock instead!

Ben and Gemma gave us a wonderful Tour of the Abbey! 212 narrow steps in total but this was broken down in parts. The time flew as it was interesting seeing the bell tower, how the bells worked, the history of the building etc finished by being on top of the Abbey with wonderful panoramic views. Coming down was easier than going up! Would highly recommend doing this tour!

Bath Abbey is a stunningly beautiful complex building. Every inch of the architecture takes your breath away. Its a magnet for all kinds of people who almost surround the Abbey. In the square in front and the large square on the side always have some fabulous musicians or solo singers playing. We spent a few hours listening to music here.

Bath abbey is located at the start of the touristy area right besides roman bath entry gate. Abbey door is well worth looking at with super exquisite detailed wood carving. Went in for a few moments. This is one Abbey that gives peace to heart and mind. Others do not not so much. Highly recommended to go there at dusk when lighting is put up and everything changes feom roman bath city to romantic bath city.

Its a beautiful architecture inside and outside. Front view is a bit hidden because of the constructions near by but from river and from the side road one can capture good pictures. Inside it has big glass windows that seems like typical british artwork from 16th century. There are couple of paid parking areas on walking distance from the Abbey. Long queues on sundays if you are a visitor.

The final destination for our hike of the Cotswold Way. And what a historic place to end literally following in the footsteps of many before us. There’s plenty to see inside and out the Abbey. The current renovations involve installing underfloor heating and restoration of the gravestones that cover the Abbey floor.

This structure makes it difficult, even for the secular visitor, to ignore God. Right smack, dab, in the middle of it all. The beauty of Bath is the bridge, the river, the crescent, the shops, the, food, but really it is God. Praise Jesus this structure is in the midst of it all, reminding people to look up!

The Abbey is gorgeous and full of history. The tour to the top of the tower is worth the small cost of the ticket. I think this is the only place in Bath to see the amazing views and the clock tower and bells are very interesting. The stairs to the top of the tower are steep, uneven and cramped. If you are nervous about small spaces or heights, you may want to be cautious about attempting the 212 stairs to the top.

Magnificent Gothic abbey. The climbing to the tower is worthwhile (212 steps) as you can have spectacular views of the beautiful city and see right into the countryside. On the way up, you will get to visit the ringing room and bell chamber, stand on top of the Abbey’s fan vaulted ceiling, and even sit behind the clock face.

Very beautiful facility. The history is truly something to take in. This place gives new meaning to church family records. In all honesty, it is a much a church as it is a mausoleum and indoor graveyard as a great many people are entombed here, most tiles also containing a bit about the person lying there. There was a lot of construction being done on this centuries old church when I visited.

Wonderful historic abbey. Kindly old gentleman surprised us with a recounting of one of the many tales of the abbey; my son listened enthralled at the tale of how the illiterate monk William Birde got his name engraved on a column so he could read it. He also showed us the secret grotesque face that you can only see in a polished plaque. Entrance is free but a donation is welcome.
