Staff were very pleasant and happy to help but we were disappointed with the food. We probably had the worst version of garlic bread! There were only a few dribbles of olive oil and balsamic vinigar rather than little dipping bowls with bread basket. We could see quite a bit of dust on the floor too... Taking into account location and prices, we were sadly disappointed...
This restaurant was absolutely worth 5 stars! The outstanding service, the fabulous food and the stunning location with views of Pulteney Bridge and the River Avon. The inside of the restaurant had beautiful beams and fairy lights too. I had the lamb ragu which was cooked to perfection, the lamb fell apart in my mouth and the pasta was al dente, the sauce and portion size was perfect! My husband loved the pork and my son also loved his pizza, we tried bits of eachothers and agreed this was definitely some of the best food we have eaten. We also had the selection of meats and cheese, olives and bread which was excellent. The calamari and monkfish was delicious and again portion size was spot on. The chocolate souffle was cooked perfectly too. The chefs did a fantastic job with the food and should be commended 👏!
If I could give six stars, I would.Saturday night, by the station, all the chain restaurants wanted a half hour or so wait for a table. I can’t be dealing with that, so gave it a Google. Ponte Vecchio came up and I am so happy it did. They had a table straight away, so we wandered down. We were greeted by a very well spoken but not at all snooty gentlemen on the ground floor, who showed us up to our table. We did wonder why we had to attend soon after calling as every other table seemed to be free - but they soon filled up. Service was attentive and friendly but not overly hover-y. The pizza was out of this world. Clearly fresh dough and cooked to absolute perfection. Really decent seafood on top. Easily in the top three pizzas I have ever eaten… and I lived in Piacenza for a year!
Superb staff. Attentive and pleasant. Also had some good advice about wine with the meal we chose. I was amazed the one offered was not one of the most expensive on the list, and in fact went excellently with the lamb. The entrée was plainer than expected really, though each (one lamb and one beef each with different pasta) were tasty and well balanced. The amount offered wasnt too generous. For the price, Id expect more and a little better, but it was a pleasant evening overall.Would I return? Perhaps for dinner, but most certainly for lunch. One MASSIVE thing which put me off was the music. Not a single Italian track played. Mostly it was old English chart music with something like Best of the Beatles and some other stuff. Another star lost merely for this killing of atmosphere.
Location was very nice right by the river. Good hand hygiene and social distancing. Was a bit expensive. Friendly professional staff. Dishes were tasty but nothing extraordinary. Lamb pasta dish melted in your mouth but lacked sauce making it dry. Carbonara was fine could have had more meat. Cheese cake was nice but small. Ice cream was fine.
Absolutely fabulous experience, the food is mouthwatering delicious, we enjoyed it a lot, the risotto is out of this world. we had the table by the stunning view of the river. this young man in the photo Omar made us feel home, Omar was very friendly and his suggestions were bullseye, after a long day enjoying the city of bath, this hidden restaurant is a real experience that we really enjoyed.
A stunning, ambient restaurant with amazing views outside and a lovely cosy atmosphere next to the river. Absolutely beautiful and the food was out of this world! Cant wait to visit again! 😍
Outstanding customer service, incredibly quick but stunning food. Highly recommend.
Perfectly cooked chicken breast. Crisp green beans. My sister lived her mussels. My husband had the think pork and ham and was very impressed. Well made pizza and lovely views. We would have gone back today but they were closed. The service was excellent. Definitely one of our 2 favorite meals in Bath. A nice break from so much pizza everywhere. Very lovely area of an already lovely city too
Recently did a lunch service. Great location by the river, staff were very attentive and there is a good wine selection. Id say food is of a good order however I ordered the pasta Genovese - this is a dish from the region of Naples which is cooked for a minimum of seven hours per the menu. I have to say the quality was very average and certainly not cooked for 7 hours in a sauce altogether. The traditional dish was lacking in taste and felt a little thrown together. Our party also had the Contadina which was well cooked however a little heavy of the cheese re the balance of flavors. Ingredients used seem of good quality which alongside location and staff keeps the score up
Lovely meal on the balcony. All happy on a sunny Wednesday. Food and drinks were enjoyed by all Only criticism being the pork escalope didnt work with breadcrumbs with the sauce over it.
Really amazing meal and great service. Very attentive without being on our shoulders - they got it exactly right
Very very rude manager ! I booked the restaurant a month ago as we were going for my father in law and husband birthday , called a few days before to confirm and it was all fine , then the manger rings me on Sunday to ask me for £80 deposit which they never asked before and when I asked and question it he gets very rude and he cancels my booking because I questioned why he is asking for deposits now instead of at the booking time ! He was extremely rude and made me very upset and cancelled our booking! No wonder people keep cancelling and don’t go there if that’s how they treat their customers specially new customers, absolutely disgusting behaviour, that’s ok because we have found a lovely pub which they going to welcome us! Don’t even deserve one star !
Brilliantly situated looking at the weir underneath Pulteney Bridge. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We were a little disappointed with the squid starter, but the mains more than made up for it.
O my good, the most amazing food I’ve ever tasted. Service and staff were outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Amazing service and delicious food. We knew we had chosen the right place to go for dinner as soon as we were greeted on arrival. We had all 3 courses as we couldnt say no to the tiramisu and every other course had already been fabulous. The house red was lovely - a nice merlot. Not sure I would bother forking out for one of the more expensive bottles! Its in a lovely location, perfect for a stroll along the river after dinner. We were quite lucky as we were seated at one of the tables by the window so we also had a nice view! I must admit that I almost gave it 4 stars as the decor probably needs a little bit of love, but everything else basically made it irrelevant. In summary, I would definitely recommend and if Im ever back in Bath then Ill definitely make a return visit!
Our food was absolutely gorgeous, great ambience. Gorgeous location adjacent the Pulteney Weir and the service was first class
Fabulous place very rustic food great, staff lovely, very attentive nothing too much trouble
Absolutely amazing food and outstanding service, best Italian in Bath we would highly recommend!
Superb service, very friendly staff and very fresh well cooked pizza for lunch. Beautiful setting. Well worth a visit.
Lovely Italian, informal, gorgeous views of the river.
Its in an absolutely amazing spot, it looks like a quality establishment and it actually is.Food is great, staff are great, the location is great, the drink selection is also great and the prices are great, as in value for money for what you get.My partner and I had the seafood spaghetti and a diavola pizza and its like a taste of Italy in the UK which is what I hoped for, it wont disappoint.
Very nice food, especially seafood dishes. Good service and friendly staff. Definitely recommended.
Great place to eat as food was delicious and service was amazing. Sitting on the balcony we had amazing views of the river and scenery. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely superb. Went there with my son today for lunch and the staff could not have been more welcoming. The food was delicious and the view across to the river was wonderful. Just go there.
My girlfriend and I had a lovely lunch date at Ponte Vecchio. Great location, food and service.
Very attentive, polite staff and delicious food! Would definitely reccomend.
Best mussels I have had for a long long time, service was fantastic and tge atmosphere was very good too considering the current climate with covid! Cant wait to go back.
Better than ever!, we travelled from Plymouth to Bath and this was the only restaurant that we wanted to come to again based on the fantastic food we had last time. Once again they did not fail to disappoint, in fact it was better than ever. There were vegan options for my daughter who was on her first visit, and lots of advice on different gins from the bar downstairs. We had a wonderful table by the window overlooking the Pulteney Bridge and the river. The service was second to none, very attentive and very knowledgeable about the types of food that were available. Fantastically tasty and the Special Burrata I have to say was the best mozzarella cheese I have ever tasted. When we come again this will once again be the only place we come to.
Lovely restaurant, great food, just a little hard to find
This restaurant is right next to the river Avon, so if youre lucky enough you can enjoy the view while youre enjoying your food. Which is superb, me and my partner have had the chefs special, and it was wonderful. Well prepared and presented at a reasonable price. Id definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
It was OK. My ham and mushroom calzone was a bit bland but hubby said his carbonara was great.Bar staff were friendly but the table staff were a bit....not friendly.I thought the £15 price tag for a pretty tasteless calzone was excessive and so, under the circumstances, we didnt stay for pudding.
Took my wife here last night for her we drove up from London to see Bath as shes always wanted to come here.We looked at many restaurants before coming and boy did we make the right choice all the staff are incredibly friendly and made us so welcome.Well as for the food WOW everything we ordered was cooked to perfection so chef 10/10 we will most definitely come back here in the summer the place is just in such a beautiful location and was spotless clean.Thank you for an amazing meal worth every penny
Fantastic food and great service. Definitely recommend.
Nice place, good food and service but music was absolutely dreadful - felt like in a 70/80s disco, Dolly Parton, Madonna etc ..... feel the Manager had dusted off his Now78 tape - we suffered for an hour and had to escape.
What an amazing place for post lockdown outside dining! The food is absolutely delicious and the view is amazing and the service superb! Highly recommended🤩The panzarotti and cheesecake are divine🤩
Very disappointed. Good service and was looking forward to the food, but unfortunately it was quite awful… Lasagne was microwave standard.
We found Ponte Vecchio with a recommendation from our guesthouse. The Windsor what a gem! Tez our waiter was professional, courteous and a pleasure to be served by. They have just employed a new chef.. And WOW! I had one of the specials Guinea fowl! At this point i have to apologise for the photo, it is an after shot.. try it! You will not be disappointed.. nice wines, good selection of starters and scrumptious desserts. Enjoy.
Good service, great food, not too pricey..
We chose a shared board starter which was so amazing. As for mains, my partner had the steak which he really enjoyed, the only downside was the peppercorn sauce which wasnt as good as expected. I had the chicken which was okay.
Brilliant meal. Friendly staff and excellent service.
Lovely staff, brilliant food, great setting by the river. Couldnt recommend it more.
Good food and service.
Had a beautiful meal here great location great location.
Tiramisu to share (and die for) delicious Very Italian fool
Stopped for a light lunch. Has a small area with some tables for eating outside, but up quite a few stairs. V pleasant looking down onto the water through the trees whilst having cold largers and calamari and monkfish starters . Friendly prompt service. Great location for crossing the bridge and straight into centre of Bath...
Average meal, pizza burnt in places.sweet ok but didnt blow my socks off.Service was good.Price was expensive for what we got.Would I return-maybe not.
Hit and miss with some meals.
Amazing food and great customer service
Had a lovely time here for my girlfriends birthday! Food was excellent and very reasonably priced, service was top-notch, (shout out to Omar. So friendly!), and despite the current covid conditions, the whole team nailed it. Hope to be back sometime!
Hidden gem with a fantastic view. Great food coupled with truly first class service. My wife and I have been many times and weve always been looked after extremely well. Fresh, well presented italian cuisine by a chef who clearly knows what hes doing. Highly recommended.
Super friendly service, food was good although not outstanding. The tiramisu was the best part!
Quaint and quiet place good view. The food was lovely.
Location is lovely, food was decent
A really unexpectedly good restaurant. From the outside it really doesnt look like much, but when you get upstairs the decor and the atmosphere are lovely. It really helps that this place is family run which gives it a really cosy vibe. For all the coeliac out there, fear not, you can eat here! The waiters are really attentive to your needs and there are loads of great gluten free options. The panacota pudding is great if youre not full by the end!
Loooved this place!
Lovely views
Best pizza ever!! The waiters at the restaurant were so lovely and helpful. The meal was delicious. Would definitely recommend going here for dinner! My girlfriend and I had cheesecake and chocolate soufflé for dessert and would’ve had 2 if we could fit it in.
Amazing food with polite and friendly staff. My girlfriend friend and I both had pizza. It was such a great portion too. Had we not eaten a lot during the day then we would have tried the desserts (they looked amazing too). Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
Great food & great service. Lovely meal out.
Absolutely first class service and the food is excellent - Total pleasure to dine here.We were a party of 4 and the staff could not have been more attentive and friendly - We will definitely be back soon
The food was delicious and well presented, the staff were friendly and helpful this made for a good night out
Great food and service what a lovely place to lunch 😋 we will return
Staff knows the menu and wines well. Excellent chef. I highly recommend this place. We did not discover it until the end of our trip. We would have been back a few more times if time allowed
Lovely food, staff very polite, however courses were served too quickly.
Great place. I will be back for more great food and service.
I went to this riverside establishment for lunch and was very happy with both product and service. The staff were courteous and attentive. The venue was very clean and tidy. My entire party enjoyed our food and well be very likely to come here again when were in the area.
Stunning food and a beautiful location. Ponte Vecchio have been killing it for years 👌🏻
Lovely food, good wine choice and excellent and efficient service. Upstairs is well decorated with lovely atmospheric lighting. I look forward to visiting again for a meal.
Outstanding service and excellent food. Highly recommended.
