Khatravank, Artsakh 1182-1239. Located on a steep hill in a close proximity to Dadivank (around 9 km), severely damaged during XII earthquake and Seljuk invasions, it was left abandoned in ruins. It is been rarely visited by anyone ever since. Սամվել Կարապետյան Samvel Karapetyan has an article published in Վարձք #7 2012, where he describes new evidence on Khatravank foundation and the construction process. We have information on precise dating and names of the founders thanks to few miraculously preserved inscriptions. There are few beautiful Khatchqars from bright white stone, embedded in the interior and exterior walls, as well as basreliefs of a ram, an eagle (stolen) and a lion located on the bases of the supporting arches.
