Sweet Rascal is different experience. Really different compared to any other in Yercaud.Two things to look out for, there is very limited parking and you need to book a slot in advanced, they have 1 hour to serve. Plan well in advance and call them.The ambience - just wonderful, green green all around along with some interesting wall decors and painting. They have animals all round, can be bit high on smell if people are not used to pets.Coming to food - simple and good. Its worth the wait and price is nominal. Menu totally depend on what is available with them and its A1 quality.

Worth the hype!!Nothing like an restaurant. The food is cooked by the local ladies. Food tastes homely and delicious😋The service is best. Everyone are warm and welcoming. Dam reasonable too.Loved the ambiance and the wordings around.Sure will visit the next time when we are in Yercaud.

The guy has his style of entertaining his guests. As a host of South Indian delicacy he serves well and nicely. Has limited space so booking you have to do in person and in advance. Only thing which I felt doesnt goes much with his style is presenting food in plastic plates and plastic table chairs. Otherwise food is good and one must try.

Awesome ambience and delicious food. Purely NON- Veg. Awesome menu. Fish, kalamari and prawns are a must try. Have to take appointment for reservation. Every menu is freshly prepared so the wait is long. You can order and walk around the place as the ambience is wonderful. Nominal and worth for the price. Lots of wonderful writings around the place. And pets. The cockatoo was an eyecatcher. Bonsais ( Jade, banyan, ficus and many more - the owner is a PhD in Bonsai and Japanese gardening ) , pets and plants create an awesome experience like never before. Worth trying this place. Best food, best service and the best people! I would consider this to be one of the tourist places to visit in Yercaud. You have to go there probably in the morning and order your food. They buy the ingredients according to what you order and make it fresh. The quantity of each dish is huge. The waiter will guide you as to what to order and how much to order based on your party size. Remember absolutely no vegetarian dishes! But theyre sweet enough to let you parcel veg curries etc so you can still hangout. There are amazing dogs in the compound and parakeets that say hello to you. Do visit without fail

Must go restaurant if you are in Yercaud. However, you need to be willing to wait for one hour for your food. But waiting is no problem because the place is filled with entertaining quotes you can read and lovely photo spots. Also, dont expect a traditional menu. Com.Dr.Vishu Kaliappa (the owner) personally told us whats available on the menu and we chose our dishes. If you were a vegetarian, please avoid this place. We really enjoyed the fish and prawn appetizer, egg dosa, fish curry and rice for mains. They didnt have dessert but my Lime mint mocktail was pretty nice. It was a wonderfully unique and entertaining experience. They also have two beautiful Macau birds that do cute antics and talk! And dog lovers, you will have a ball here as the resort has tons of them.

We saw this place being scored as the best in many websites of best restaurants in Yercaud and decided to give it a shot. There are many things that catch your eye when you enter this restaurant, the quirky quotes which give you a good laugh and relax you as you enter, the loud exotic birds that entertain, the numerous bonsais and unique plants that intrigue you, the appointment-only service, the pleasant outdoor ambience, pure non-vegetarian fare and most importantly the host himself, Mr Vishu Kaliappa. He welcomed us and said, appointments are full for lunch, so we requested for dinner. They have a rotating menu based on the days availability of meat. The way he took down our order itself was different, he requested each of our full names and contact numbers, which he noted down in an elegant calligraphic font, and then gave us the available options for the day and ensured we ordered only what we could eat (thereby avoiding wastage, which is a commendable sentiment).So we went back with high hopes, hoping the meal would live up to all the hype. And when we went back, we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh delicious hot food, every dish exceeding expectations in the taste, though we far exceeded his expectation of our capacity so we ended up ordering more portions. We had egg dosa, batter fried calamari rings, fish fillet masala and prawn masala, and some chapatis, all of which were sumptuous and made with care. He is a jolly host who moves around the tables and likes to spend time chatting with his guests, getting to know them more and regaled us with a lot of interesting tales and his plans for developing the property in the coming future. And when he got to know we had a common alma mater, SHY, he immediately shared the coffee table book hed made for Montforts jubilee celebrations with a lot of photographs and historical snippets, which was an absolute delight to thumb through. His passions are unique and varied, from fashion design, cooking, exotic birds, antiques, hospitality and bonsai in which he has a doctorate. He even graciously shared his curated recipes with us, which Ive never seen anyone do.We will definitely look forward to staying at his rooms the next time we visit Yercaud and eating more of his delicious food. Overrated restaurant. We went there to have lunch and got the food very late. The taste is average. The food is very normal and not extra ordinary. It was raining when we went there and no proper arrangement has been made to shift the plates.

This hotel is very antique and good. The food is really good . I suggest to buy the fish fry and egg dosa which is extremely big. This restaurant is really creative there are many quotes all over the restaurant there are very beautiful birds and dogs . There were many macaws and dogs such as huskies , pug , golden retriever , Dalmatian and many more . The place is a tribute by the owner to himself and that is amply made clear in written at the entrance of the restaurant. So, the joke is always on the customer.Note: moving my review to a 1star after seeing mr.Vishus response. Dearest Vishu, I think you have yourself answered why the joke is always on your customer. Coming to your assumption about my Keralite taste buds - I have lived outside Kerala all of my life, and infact spent more of my life in TN! So I know and enjoy tamil delicacies as much as I do others cuisines. And hence I dismiss your food as underwhelming. I dont think it is the authentic spices and flavours in your food, but a lot of authentic marketing that gets you positive reviews - good job on that! Really!! Lastly, please take criticisms on the chin.

The place has various unique seating arrangements with a wonderful view amidst nature. The food is really good. The batter fried prawns and egg dosa and their breakfast pongal is to die for.Sweet Rascals also provides accommodation under the name the regent hill side resort and its a part of the resort. I loved it and Im sure so will many other nature lovers and those with a taste for yummy food.

Good for hard core non vegetarians and sea food lovers.Vegetarian have no place here

Found this gem during our recent Yercaud trip! Just something that was perfect for our small group of friends. Captain Vishu who owns and runs this place is very passionate about his venture. If you are a hard core NV foodie...this is a must stay place...

Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of non-vegetarian food as well for the price. It’s definitely not like other expensive restaurants and you only get a small amount of food. I am definitely going back.

Had a hearty breakfast here flavoured with extraordinary conversations with Commander Vishu! Extraordinary property, lovely pets, eco lavish... Vegetarian breakfast as an exception... Strictly for non vegetarians! Will be here anytime Im in Yercaud!

Super nice time we had with friends. Vishu kaliappa the owner was very nice to us. Food was very tasty and fresh. Lots of birds and dogs. We stayed there too.

Had a nice time and best ever 1 st time experienced best resort. I wondered of this place Im every lucky to have a day here.. OMG.. sweet rascal is my favourite now when I just entered in....

Best of the options in yercaud. Dint get the luck to dine in but Dr. Visu, next time, will book in advance.

Truly a good and decent place in yercaud. They do not have a menu card and the owner suggest you the dishes. For us he suggested to have egg dosa, fish fry, chicken fry, chicken gravy, prawn gravy and white rice. A simple and neat choices. We liked all the dishes we ordered except prawn gravy as the prawns were frozen ones. Overall a must visit place.

An unconventional collection of curiosities. The food, of course, is good. It’s prepared deliberately, consciously - thus will take time but will be worth every minute. Was left licking my fingers :)But there is so much going on outside just the cuisine, be it the foliage, the witty quotes scribbled all over the place, the canine abundance, bonsai all around. It’s a place of heart.It’s all curated by Vishu, who is a multifaceted man with a lot of interests and qualities, but the one that shines through the best is his warmth. He was very genuine and I felt like I’d known him for a long time. All akkas and annas working their way around were also very welcoming, even though I didn’t speak Tamil.I had a lovely 5 hours just chilling here, reading, writing, thinking, and of course licking my fingers after the scrumptious meal. Felt at home.

Amazing food, excellent ambiance and above all a one of a kind host who holds an amazing collection of super bikes, super cars and over 35 dogs and horses!What was supposed to be just a dine out experience turned into an unforgettable evening. Definitely coming back every time we visit Yercaud!
