Food is always good. I like to go on a quiet night (e.g. early in the week) for a chilled out dinner. Clearly popular as a delivery food place, judging by the steady flow of drivers doing order pickups.

How i can explain that. Yesterday i did the chicken tikka order here and like not cook properly, Might be they were in rush. Seriously i dont want order in future. Best of luck for your Service.

Curry pot does the best curry I have had in NZ and I haven’t been able to find anything as good since moving to Auckland. Can recommend all the vegetarian dishes!

These guys seriously need to work on their food quality. They sell pretty gross food. authenticness is not even close to them. They started charging $0.20 for a takeway bag which i believe is sick. their menu is over priced and dont know why they are still here. had a really bad experience couple of times and surely not going back anymore. one of the front house staff is too rude ( Not sure about name, But he is tiny guy ).

I went to curry pot this week and my experience was very bad I have order chicken thali and masala dosa and the person who served me he asked me how spicy I want..medium, hot, extra. I said hot and instead of making it hot they just mixed lots of chilli powder and he it was too hot.At the end I left my food like that.Very poor experience for me

Curry Pot is hands down THE BEST curry I have had. The lunchtime special is awesome. The service is always great. The staff are super friendly and always happy to see regular customers. And they accommodate large bookings for BYOs. Cant recommend this lovely restaurant enough!

My, what a big Dosa you have! Great South Indian food. We also had a lamb curry which was full of flavour.

A mix of familiar and new dishes made the meal choice a challenge. I wasnt disappointed, a flavoursome Achari Chicken accompanied by a perfectly sweet Mango Lassi.Now this place is on my to-revisit list.

Had a paneer dosa and masala dosa....both were amazing.Sambhar was delicious too. High recommend.

Tried the dosa today and its awesome

Manchuria was too sweet, Sambar was too tangy and it is no where near to sambar, coke was not cold. The stuffing inside masala dosa had raw turmeric taste. Never had such tasteless Indian food in Wellington.

Asked if they could do a small container of rice and a spoonful or two of butter chicken sauce with no chicken for my 4 year old explaining that he wouldnt eat much. He said, sure no problem and then was charged for a full sized container of rice and full sized container of sauce. Then charged extra again for a nan. Other restaurants would have at least done a half and half deal but he said oh thats only for lunch. Maybe- but how about a bit of kindness buddy? Its not all profit profit profit...curry was average too.

Great food and super friendly staff

The best value Indian in Newtown, and to top it off, their curries are up there with anyone else in the area. Whats best depends on individual taste, as each restaurant has a slightly different variation, so I wont say one restaurant is better than the other, but all the curries at the Curry Pot are fine. Be adventurous and skip the boring butter chicken, its not even an Indian dish. Their Dosa is the best value in the city, its thin and crispy paper-dosa style. I find they do dosa better when there isnt a large group dining there at the time. Their lunch menu is unbeatable value. As a suggestion, you can ask them to leave out the oil/butter from the naan bread; I find its nicer plain (and healthier too).

The Curry Pot team were amazing on Saturday night - helping to feed around 60 guests at my home. They came and looked at the venue prior, provided table cloths, bain maries, serving spoons and labels for the curries. And - unexpectedly, two staff stayed on to serve up before packing everything down again once the feeding frenzy was over. The curries themselves were top notch! They always are. My friends and family were really impressed with everything and I was delighted with the whole experience - they made my night!

Unsure why this listing is new- I left a review under the former listing on Google Maps. I have tried many Indian restaurants in NZ and even some in India, and Curry Pot is my favourite of them all. The only restaurant in welly that comes close to tasting as good is Taste of India, but it still falls short of Curry Pots quality when it comes to cuts of meat and naans. Additionally, Curry Pot is an actual restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Will continue to order from Curry Pot for as long as I live in Wellington.

The manager at Curry Pot was so kind and great to work with. We had a large group for a BYO, and ordering in advance meant we all got our food in a timely manner. People all loved their curries and it was a great atmosphere, spacious and easy to talk to others! Thanks for the great service, well definitely be back!

We really like going here because of all the vegetarian options. Its not an afterthought its a huge part of the menu! Go for the Dahl Fry, its delicious. The staff are super friendly and patient with the kids as well.

Good food and service. Only issue is that im sure me and my girlfriends dishes were handed to us opposite in terms of spice. She got my medium and I got her mild. Easy mistake to make as both meals were the exact same.

I love this place. Right across the street from work and a great lunch special. Ive tried a handful of the different curries and I would say that the Chicken Tikka Masala is so yummy. The dinner time Naan breads are pretty massive too. They usually come out cut into thirds to make it more manageable. The staff are friendly and always happy to see me. Im always happy to see them cause it means Im gonna eat good in a minute 😁

Weve come down here a few times since moving into the area. The food has some very interesting deviations from the typical Indian menu and the service has always been great. Its nice to find a local place that beats expectations.

Love this place!The best butter chicken Ive had before & Ive tried about 5 different restraunts too, usually pretty quick service, foods ready in about 15-20mins. Great portions & are really friendly about adding extra cheese to cheese naan or extra chicken to curry. Never dined in but my take out currys are always the best without a fail :)

Every dish on the menu is delicious and made fresh to order.Not many Indian restaurants in New Zealand offer South Indian food but The Curry Potmakes some of the best South Indian food - full stop. Try the masala dosa for a start.Uttapam and vada are also on offer and these are quintessentially South Indian. Ask the staff about the difference between North Indian and South Indian dishes.The Curry Pot lunch specials are amazing value for money. You may wish to start with an appetizersuch as aloo paratah followed by a main of masala dosa and gulab jamun for desert.The Curry Pot is a byo alcohol restaurant but also offers tap beer and a variety of juices and lassis.The staff and chefs are professional, polite and very helpful. The Curry Pot always delivershighest quality and its a pleasure to dine at this wonderful restaurant.

Easily the worst Indian food I have had in Wellington thus far. The naan was obviously not fresh at all, it was very dry and tough to pull apart. The curry had very little flavour and an excess amount of sauce. No authenticity about this place at all. Not to mention I had to wait close to 30 mins for a takeaway. Needless to say I will not be back.

Very good place to have vegetarian food. Real good mix of spices and bhindi (okra) masala is amazing. Large place to do family get togethers and friendly staff assists you in best possible way. Starters like tandoori and tikkas are good too.
