I love it here and I love the area. Living in a complex does have its challenges but its expected with knowing you have neighbors. The office does helps as much as they can and are really nice, helpful people. Its the location for me and beats Boston prices!
Loved the community. I was here for a short time but my stay was excellent! I got a renovated unit and the office staff is very helpful. The studio apartments are so spacious.
I have been a resident here for a couple years and recently transferred to my own unit with my family. Jayna was able to help me in the process and give me excellent service. I am really happy with my new unit and everything has been fine. My unit is cute and just what I needed.
Hi thanks maria alvarez for your exelent attention that you provided me.,Maria is an outstanding customer service at gardencrest.
I just moved into Gardencrest and I am so so happy with everything. Jayna was such a pleasure to work with and helped me with everything. I am looking forward to living here with my family Thank you.
The houses are nice but the management is understaffed. They rarely reply to emails and they do not pick up phone calls easily.
Talk about a bait and switch! Before my boyfriend and I moved in, we were told we would have two parking spaces and be allowed two guests for the pool. It turns out that we have one parking space and one of subhead to park in the street. There are no spots by the time my boyfriend comes home from work. So, he has to park in the central lot and walk two the house. They now charge $50 for a season pass for the pool. There is trash everywhere. I saw a fight occur in the central parking lot, and the cops got involved. The maintenance department is non-existent. I submitted two service requests that have gone in answered. It was a HUGE mistake to move here!
From the first phone call Anthony and Dan has been AMAZING, we had a few obstacles. Anthony stayed in contact with me. He stayed patient and help me every step of the way. They were welcoming and resourceful. I am so happy to be a resident of garden crest. I am hoping for a great future here. Thank you guys for everything! it was a difficult time and you guys always brought light at the end of the tunnel.
I regret more than ANYTHING moving in here!!! It has been rough right from the start we were promised a move in date of June 25th and due to apartment renovations we were not able to be in until July 6th! Since moving in their has been MULTIPLE issues. Starting with the fact that we were promised a screen door for our sliding door upon moving in. Now having been here for almost 2 months now still no screen. Our sliding door did not lock when we had first moved in which was greatly unsettling. My final straw was today when someone from maintenance had just let himself in to our apartment with no notice as well as unannounced and I was in the middle of getting dressed for work and was ABSOLUTELY MORTIFIED! This is also highly illegal.. I feel completely unsafe in my own home now and the response I got from the office staff was an email was supposed to be sent out and someone had forgotten to finish sending them out due to a pest problem. This is by far THE WORST experience I have EVER had and I honestly cannot wait until my lease is up!!!!!
Extremely unprofessional. Our cooling system is not working for over 24 hours now and even after a dozen phone calls and a personal visit to the office nothing has been done. All we are asked to do is keep patience when our apartment is at 90 degree. Nobody listens, nobody cares. Worst service ever.
Were just moving in so my review is for the experience thus far. Daniel and Andrew are great to work with. Andrew has been awesome - remaining patient with our questions and accommodating with our requests. The complex seems well kept with an attractive pool, the gym is clean and the staff is great.
I live here for 2 years now and I love. I have the opportunity to have a great neighbors that becames friend . The staff are very friendly and responsive. I had the opportunity to work with Andie; she have made my transition from Florida very easy. She is very patient ,friendly and kind . She very detail on with whatever you ask her . She and the rest of the staff have made my stay here pleasant.
I have been a resident of Gardencrest for 6 years and with the new team and the management of Daniel Gray I have seen things change for a better; the responses are quickly and the maintenance have been more efficient and always being respectful to my space especially during this pandemic. They always keep their masks on and give me a space as required.
I am a new resident here at gardencrest. The people here were very caring and helped me get an apartment. There were some difficult things but they were able to resolve them for me. I am very happy with everything and my apartment (is so cute). They give me attention and still attend to my needs if needed. Jayna was beyond helpful and is still helping me out when needed.Best,LucianaI have recently transferred units to a bigger apartment and Gardencrest was very helpful during the whole process. Jayna helped me through this process and I am still very happy living here. I love my new unit and any issues I have are addressed. Everyone the office is amazing. Thank you!Best,Luciana
Lived here over 8 years. Its taken a drastic turn for the worse. The Music is so loud and often goes on till 3am and occasionally till 5am!!! Its like a loud bachata festival every bloody night!!!!Unfortunately, management does not address complaints inspite of numerous complaints about it.
It takes time (sometimes long time) for things to be fixed/replaced. It would be perfect if maintenance requests were actually fixed during a week.
I recently move in and so far my experience have been positive.Andie have made my transition very easy. She had help me with the process and was available when ever we had a question. The office staff is very nice .
The staff have been very helpful since I move in I been here . I work with Andie she always attentive and if she not available her coworkers always step in and make sure they answer my question .
Honestly, just rent anywhere else even if it is a little more expensive. We lived in Gardencrest for 2 years and it was the worst experience of our life. The office hardly gets back to you when they say they will call you back. When we switched from a lease to a month to month for a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom townhouse, the rent went up $1000 a month! Not to mention we had a mice infestation for about the last 9 months we lived there. Yes, we had a dog, but I was constantly cleaning that apartment so I’m not sure what was attracting them. My husband and I had to stay on top of cleaning the mice droppings since they were everywhere, and we have two small children who wanted to play with their toys in the living room. It was disgusting. Every time we would call about it, pest control would come out (they only come out on Wednesdays so depending on when you call you have to wait) and set up bait traps. That’s it. When I asked pest control if they could find where the mice were coming in from he said, “I’ve been told not to say anything. It’s a legal issue. You have some dirty people living around you, and that’s what’s probably causing them to come in.” When I told the office about this they said, “Pest control should be trying to find the route of the problem.” It never got solved because pest control kept telling me the same thing and the problem only got worse. The mice were traveling around on the main floor of the house (living room, dining room, and kitchen), but they started to travel throughout the house the last few months we were there. It got to the point that we had seen a mouse in one of the bedrooms and one in the bathtub which had to be carried outside by my poor mother-in-law. It was not worth paying the $3000 which went up to $4000! We also had to go back and forth for months about a broken dishwasher in the first apartment we were in. It was never fixed so we couldn’t use it. The washing machine also broke which we had to go back and forth with maintenance about getting a new one because when they “fixed it”, it still wasn’t working. I don’t think banging on the middle piece with a hammer is going to fix the broken motor... Please do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else.
Maria has great customer services. She talks very profesional . Any issues with anything always wants to find a way to help. I recomend talking to her some staff aren’t as friendly !.
I have enjoy my stay here the staff and maintenance have made it very pleasant. I had the opportunity to work with Andie and Dan . They are both very helpful and kind .
Great customer service , specially when it come to helping you move in . If you are looking for a place and people to help you with your transition ;this is the place .
It was the worst experience in my life.I cant live like this.Terrible service, there are a lot of mice in the house. And centipide.I have a phobia. And somewhere in the house a mouse died, I cant find it. It smells awful. They are only can fix after 5 days. Why I have to leave with this and pay gross money?
To be completely honest...at first, like you, i read the reviews and had some concerns...but i called made the appointment and since day one...i have been completely satisfied with their service and professionalism. If you want honesty and hard work ask for MARIA... she will take care of you I promise!!
If you like roach infested apartments at boston prices, youve found your new home. They take your security deposit near in full for leaving the place in the same, if not better condition than when you left. They wont even supply reasons for taking 80% of your security deposit.
The Customer Service provided is first class and staff are passionate, Knowledgeable, and have Respect. Thumbs up.
Gardecrest maintenance have been working hard and have fixed all problems that I have had j would consider them to anyone!
This place is really nice Maria is awesome so nice caring an amazing she must of shown my mom an me apartment over an over trying to find her one she would love an she did with the beautiful pond out back but we couldnt move that fast in so we lost that one but Maria still tried to find us something here then my mom wanted a three bedroom an they dont have any right now we really wanted to be here but hopefully something opens but ask for Maria she great everyone seem really great there but we worked with Maria there whole time she great
There have been many issues with this poorly maintained, poorly managed, older property. Here are the biggest ones:Major issues are not dealt with in a timely manner (and often not at all). We had a cockroach and rodent infestation that lasted for months. After talking to our neighbors we found this to be the norm.Trash everywhere on the property is a constant. There is mold in many of the units thanks to pipe leaks/breaks.Tenants are allowed to smoke in their apartments which then gets into other units.Building 37 partially burnt down thanks to their poor maintenance standards. Everyone had to move out and it’s still empty and fenced off.The pool is a nice feature, but it has been closed more than it’s been open since we moved in 3 summers ago. The excuse is always that they can’t find a lifeguard. There has been a mass exodus out of here because of how bad it is and that’s why there are so many open units, as well as pricing specials like a month of free rent - despite having to rehouse everyone from building 37.It is slightly cheaper than other options in Waltham, they allow dogs and they have the pool. It’s not worth the hassle. There are too many issues with these older buildings that haven’t been cared for correctly. On-site property management tries to help but have little to no power to really do anything when things do inevitably go wrong. Maintenance staff are under staffed and overworked. All major decisions go through a corporate office and they only care about keeping their costs low by doing the bare minimum. They reply to all of these posts on google, yelp etc. so they can look like they care, but the superficiality of their generic copy/paste messages reflect the changes Harbor Group has made since taking over the property. Only focusing on making the outside of the property (and the sales office) look good while the core is rotten and in a constant state of disrepair.Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live. Your health and sanity is worth it.
I never recommend this property to anyone. We are living here for now. But we will move asap. Their maintenance team and management team never fix anything.
I love all the people in the office they have an amazing team Andie is amazing always try her best I have been here 3 years and never had any problems and has well it is very quiet place to live.😊😊😊😊
Great experience ! stayed for 3yrs & so and enjoyed the overall stay. amazing staff & good size fitness center.
Excellent location. Staff is friendly and maintenance is helpful. Kim and her staff had a great Halloween function for the residents. Great experience so far. Dont go off of the negative posts, experience the greatness yourself.
Great location, that’s key for me and they allow me to have my 2 dogs!!!! It’s expensive, but so is everything in Waltham. I love my space in my home. The pool is also amazing, such a great perk. Any maintenance issue I’ve had have been fixed in a timely manner. Yes, there may be a pest issue, but I will say they do what they can to rectify it. I’m not a fan of some of my neighbors, but being in a large community, you’ll have that and that’s not anyone’s fault. I stay to myself and don’t have any issues. Although the staff seems to change frequently, they have all been very pleasant. Erin, the assistant property manager, has been very helpful recently during these tough times. We plan on staying around until our child graduates.
I did NOT receive the refund for deposit after five months I moved out!!!!????I was a former resident here and moved out in July. The team messed up my refund - I actually returned the parking permit, whereas they recorded as I did not return. After I address the issue, they were very nice to resolve the issue for me, and told me I will get the $200 refund back for the permit. HOWEVER, NO REFUND SEND TO ME SO FAR. CLEARLY, BOTH THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND SITE OFFICE NEVER CONSIDER IT SERIOUSLY
One of the worst places I have ever rented from. They do not fix things for up to 2 months. The walls are paper thin and tenants are unruly. I had families staying in a one bedroom next to me. Loud at all times, no guaranteed parking, extra charge for pool that does not open every day on a consistent basis. Just bad.
I am a current resident of this apartment. I am having terrible experience so far.. the neighbors are too loud.. I didn’t expect it to be like this. The wall are really really thin and you can hear anything from people upstairs. I have been complaining ever since I moved in and it has been 5 months so far and the management hasn’t done anything about it. I have even called the police because of the loud music but the manager stopped the report from the police as well. She didn’t take any step about it. I am very very in trap at this place. I wish I had never lived here. Such a worst place to stay. I would recommend to stay away from this place to anyone thinking of moving here. The neighbors are rude too even after complaining to the police they keep playing loud music after 10pm till 2 in the morning. Stay away folks!!!! It’s a nightmare to live here and the management will not do anything to comfort your stay. I wish there was a zero star.
I have been living here and my dishwasher isn’t working for already 2 months and 2 of our windows are broken and we called to the maintenance a lot of times and nobody still hasn’t come and fixed anything! I don’t even know who to call and ask to fix everything now!
Andie and Larry from maintenance were extremely helpful to me with getting my tricycle in storage for the winter. Thanks so much. Dawn
Kim and her team are great staff to work with! Extremely available to answer questions and always willing to go above and beyond to help wherever they can! Highly recommend.
I am currently living here, my condition was broken and my family is extremely hot all the time, we can’t even sleep at nights. I have called the office several times already, they keep saying that they will send someone over, but over a month now no one is coming to fix the issue. Now when I’m calling them they are not even answering.
Cheap, and you get what you pay for. Note - resided in a townhouse residence. As far as the actual residence is concerned, they looks nice at first glance, but after living there for a while you notice that it is because the ENTIRE APARTMENT is covered in about 15 coats of paint. Paint starts to crack and chip and it becomes obvious the place is hacked together. Wires run around door frames instead of through walls, the bathroom is tiny with no vent and paint gets destroyed quickly, there is clearly little to no sound insulation and neighbors conversations can be heard with ease. In my unit there was a LEGO piece PAINTED INTO the basement stairs. The complex is full of children playing - dont attempt to live here with a nice car. Parking lots are often full and street parking becomes a mess during snow. The roads through the complex are barely wide enough without snow on the ground. Dumpsters are placed centrally and make for a great eye-sore. In addition garbage literally piles up with furniture, trash bags, and recycling literally OVERFLOWING the small fenced in areas around said dumpsters.During the heavy winter of 2014-2015 the ceiling became moisture ridden and the paint frequently fell onto the floor and even with multiple requests had NOT been fixed by the time of move out in June of 2016.Move farther away from Boston, or pay up to live elsewhere.
So weve recently moved into Gardencrest and so far, so good! There were a few technical issues when we first moved in, but Dan in the leasing office helped get us sorted. The gentleman (whose name I didnt get :( ) who came in to do the repairs was super nice and was able to fix everything for us! Thanks guys!
The staff are incompetent and a few are extremely rude. They just had another new management taking over and its just as crazy as ever. No one answers their phones for assistance and one of them act like they have no idea what they are doing with the complex. I been here ten years and the first two years was great but after new management after another the service and caring for the tenants have been ridiculous. Frankly all they do is sweet talk people into signing a lease and once your in then its all down hill. Do not move here by all means. Money hungry asses. Plus the rent here is over the top every year and just to get a replacement for a parking permit is 200.00. Deposit for a dog is 600. Anything for a buck. Your better off looking for a place outside of here
Very polite, professional job,,
First and for most, just want to say overall it’s a great place to live with my family and it’s very spacious. Second, the fact that the rent is a bit pricey and to realize it will go up $100 something each year it is stressful. Knowing that it will be the same thing as the previous year no new things. Lastly, the office staff. The past couple times I’ve gone to pay my rent, a staff member has acted in an unprofessional manner. When the tenant should at least be treated with kindness and a respect. I’ve gone in with a good attitude but have not been shown the same from the office staff. It’s just an act of good professionalisms and respect that can go along way.
I just wanted to say thank you to management and maintenance for being so helpful recently.
Nick was phenomenal! Great customer service, addressed all my issues, was courteous, prompt and went above and beyond.
Place to live is fine but the staff sucks big time
I have been living at this place for 3 months now and oh god, it is a terrible mistake to choose living at this place.I decided to move here for couple of reasons.1. The apartment was renovated after the previous tenant moved out.2. The low security deposit3. Close to the 70 bus line4. Moderate rents, when compared with other apartments in the area.I live in one of the buildings on Lyman Street that the company manages and these are the worst of the lot. These 3 buildings on Lyman are the orphaned children of the company and barely get any attention.1. The trash and recycles are not separated and are dumped into the same bins by the residents. I raised this as a concern multiple times with the leasing office and no one cares about it.2. The maintenance team is pathetic. You have to call them multiple times (4-5 times) for them to come service your request. You also get yelled at by pretty rude maintenance staff without realizing that you are paying a part of their salaries.3. There are no bike racks4. There is no lighting whatsoever in the parking lot. This is especially important during winters when you can never understand if you are walking into sleet or not. Injuries are waiting to happen. Again, I raised this as a concern multiple times and no one cares.5. Snow does not get cleared and you have to rely on nature to evaporate the snow and ice so that you can drive your vehicles safely in the parking area and driveway.6. The storage areas stink and even the residents are not courteous enough to make sure they keep the common areas clean.7. The building has washers and dryers and you have to pay for using them. The dryers are horrible and inefficient and waste a ton of electricity. For a normal dress shirt, it takes 3 full dryer runs (around $7) to dry completely. I raised this concern with the maintenance department and leasing office and guess what, nobody cares.8. The walls are way too thin and I can hear my neighbors talk even if they are conversing in normal volume. My building is full of students who go to Bentley university. So, Friday nights are a pain in the butt when they crank the music out loud and it starts vibrating the entire building. After my multiple attempts to get someone to address these issues going in vain, I am thinking of breaking my lease and paying the penalty, if thats what it takes to get out of this community.
No parking on the street at all . We can’t have music in our apartment at all with out getting Evection notice There’s only one neighbor that gives complain All the time . poor management If something is broken in the Apartment it takes about a week or two weeks for them to come and fix it. I would not recommend anyone to move in here
Great improvements and new manager is so pleasant and maintenance is on point. They want to make you feel at homr
Dan grey is seriously the best employee that this company has! He has always went above and beyond for me even when I wasn’t a resident here! He makes sure to get things done! He is super friendly and always willing to help. He truly cares about all of his residents here at garden crest! Please if anyone wants to rent from this place please go to dan grey he will guide you every step of the way!! He is very tall you can’t miss him!Keep up the good work dan
Well I applies to live here... got denied... why? My credit score... haha their computer said 348.. I showed them my score on all 3 credit bureaus, close to 600.. then they say you need a co signer.. so something there is BS..
Me and wife came here expecting a so so average maintenance and staff after looking at the reviews. However, it could not be anything from the truth. The office staff were wonderful, gave a us a really warm welcome and showed us around the apartment complexes. Loved the space and the overall layout of the apartment. Both the staff personnel Dan and Dan are were really nice guys and followed up with us throughout to make sure our move was smooth and nice. Overall we had a good experience living here and i would not hesitate to recommend to others. Its unfortunate only the people who had issues leave a review and the rest of the 500 or so families living with no issues never do. You want a convenient place to stay and somewhere close to everything this is your place.
Plumbing back up every 3 months or less. Basement continually flooded with urine and feces from other apartments due to the pipes being backed up. EVERYTHING in basement ruined. Has happened Multiple times while office is open. This time no one has come to solve the issue and they say “we will try to send someone tomorrow”. Very unsanitary to have this continue flooding all night amd its damaging to all our property stored im the basement.
Gardencrest apartments are a horrible place to live...the rent is high parking is horrible...it took them 2 weeks to change a light bulb why???? On top of paying rent you have to pay to use the pool and the gym!!!!! Our cars were damaged by people parking illegally and we complained and nothing ever got done. The most upsetting thing is that I paid them 150.00 to put my girlfriend on the lease, but by the time she received her passport we had given our notice to move...so when I asked for my money back I was told it would be given back with the security deposit but it wasnt. So I called after receiving my security deposit and I was told well we cant give the 150.00 back because we ran the application...which isnt true because my girlfriends name was never put on the lease due to the fact they didnt have her passport. I would never recommend Gardencrest to anyone and wished I had never lived there.
Hans and Larry provided great customer service and prompt maintenance repairs. Thank you so much
Hans was very helpful and gave us quick response to our complaints.
We have lived here for several years. The Facility has gone through many changes which has resulted in some good and some bad results. Tammy January and her Team do try to assist with every issue that may come up with Units and they do a great job at responding to issues and concerns. The units themselves still need much TLC, they are old and old means a ton of work and upkeep, this is one area that needs to be continually worked on. I know that Tammy and her Team do as much as they can and they do everything they can to improve units as issues crop up. Tammy did have many issues resolved in our unit and was very responsive when something went wrong and resolved the issue quickly.Strides are being made, I hope that they continue to improve.
One star is to much. Horrible, it is dirty everywhere, people are not friendly and they leave trash in shared spaces, the main office never replies emails, do not ever rent here NEVER
Hans the new maintenance man is fantastic! Met him today and took care of all my problems! I am happy to have him on board!
The amount of litter at the gardencrest apartments is absurd.
Leaved there for two years. Its ok if you like Waltham. Good management. Clean area!
Theres dead mice in the attic that need to be removed but nonbody will go do it. cleaning of the outside ac unit and duct work has never been done in the 7 years ive been here. loud music goes on all the time. and rent keeps going up but none of these problems get fixed or even looked at. plus the buildings are so old and definitly not up to code. this place has become section 8 housing and for the people who pay full price like us get screwded with horrible neighbors who have no respect.
Maintenance/ customer service is a joke. Have had multiple issues, they tell you someone will come out today/asap and then forget about you. Every issue needs 4-15 calls to get it fixed. Have been living with mold in the wall/ 2 of the 3 kitchen cabinets I have our food and dishes for 3 months with a newborn! No one cares.Never had pests before until we were infested with cockroaches after moving in here because of shared pipes. Garbage dumpsters regularly overflow( the view from our kitchen/ first thing you see when you open the door) Grounds are littered with trash. Random holes in the grounds covered by thin rusting plates. Walls are paper thin and you can hear everything, your neighbor talking, bathing and using the toilet. After all the above lack of service, rent increases by about every yr. Thier policy and weird move in dates make it almost impossible to leave without outrageous short lease surcharge. Update: cabinetry was replaced.. arrived unannounced and made my mother move everything in the kitchen while watching a 3 yr old and 2 month old or told her they werent coming back. Did not replace drywall, sanded down and sprayed toxic chemicals on the wall in my apartment with my mom kids and dog inside who couldnt leave to get away from the smell. Left light over the sink on the floor and live wires and said They arent electricians
Maintenance doing very good and are kind
Lived here 2 years: People will smoke in their apartment, park in your spot, play music to 3AM and run up and down the stairs. The office will do nothing about it, despite it being forbidden in your lease. Why? Because they dont stand to make any immediate money. The grounds are so so, but they expressly released a statement saying that no one should so much as think about touching the grass.I think the biggest issue I had here was due to the shooting. There was a shooting and death of a high schooler, and not 3 days later I received a notice that my rent was increasing for next year, should I decide to stay. They did not address it or issue a statement to their residents. While they are nice to you in the office, you can tell this place is owned by a greater power. There is an err of money grubbing and dishonesty. Not worth the money, considering the distance from Cambridge/Boston.
1 star is actually not aproperate for GC apartments. If possible, I would give 0 star.It is noise that you can clearly hear from what people are doing upstairs.Maintenance team did a good job on fixing your problem, but I rarely saw them when I had problems. If you have a problem, remeber to call the office based on at least two-week ahead prediction.Staff are unacceptable bad. Manager does not even care about what her employees are doing. No body ever cares about your problem. If you want to pay online, be aware that they do not know how to take money from your bank account, and they will charge you a late fee on that.
High price, rude staff, parking sucks. I wont recommend this place for anyone!!!
Great place to live maintenance is awesome
Hans did a great job in maintenance for our appartment !!
Lived here for a year. The leasing staff was friendly whenever we met them (shout out to both the Dans and Tammy). :) Any maintenance request was also seen to promptly by Ed.The only issues we had were - when the change of management happened, the lawns were neglected to be cared for and there was loads of goose poop, because of which kids couldnt play on the grass. Also, despite repeated warnings by the management, a lot of insensitive people do not pick up after their dogs. How hard is it to do that?Overall, we loved our time there. We had a good apartment facing the river and university, and we had great neighbors. Wouldnt mind living there again.
Ive lived here since 2011, and the rent, which is increased with every lease renewal, is very expensive for the size of the apartment; however, it is comperable to other rental properties in the area. I also live in an upgraded apartment, too. Online requests for service need to be called in to the office. Im not sure what happens in the office with service requests, but they are never completed unless you follow up with them. I must say, however, the service gentlemen are very friendly and efficient when they come by for repairs. Snow removal is a problem in certain areas of the complex, including mine, which is an inconvenience as I am a first responder and need to get to work. (Its pretty sad when a dozen residents are out with shovels clearing snow in parking lots!) The complex is very dark at night, and there is no security whatsoever. Certain areas of the complex are known for shady activities; thankfully, I dont reside in that area and I am surrounded by good neighbors. Overall, my corner apartment is a roof over my head until my son graduates from high school next year.
I lived. Here 6 years and let me tell you about my 6years last year on lease singing I told them my fridge dose not keep cold the stove needed balancing my dish washer is hit or miss old and dented came that way 65 years ago the blinding door was broken to the right hand side of the building they promiced to give the, aa chance they fix everything on my list they frist gave me a lease I could not read th photo copying was so poor then I said I can’t read it I can’t sing it to with. Terrible place to live. If you expect even the slightest amount of customer service from the staff here, forget it. They will simply say Im sorry, theres nothing I can do to basically any request you may have that they dont know the answer to. Need more than one parking pass for a 3 bedroom apartment? Thats too bad, because they cant help you.
Hans maintenance supervisor did a great Job !
We lived there for 2 years. We were shown a model not the actual town home we would be renting. When we actually got to see the unit we would be living in it was move in day and our truck was outside with all of our belongings. The agent stood and waited for us to walk through and either go through with moving in or not. If we had been able to look ahead of time we would have said no. The bathroom smelled of sewer gas, the floor had a pet urine stain that reeked (cat urine smell) and the air conditioner was not functioning very well.We decided to deal with the issues but over the course of living there we had to deal with an unreliable HVAC system that required many visits from maintenance. The agent who went over our lease failed to mention that a parking permit tag is required so one day we discovered our car had been towed by their vendor...we thought someone had stolen our car and called the police (they informed us that Garden Crest had it removed). When they replaced the shower fixtures, they didnt bother fixing the wall on the other side where they had to cut a large hole. They patched it but never came back to smooth it out..it looked terrible. It was that way for over a year. When we moved in the grass was green and beautiful..they watered it regularly. Now if you drive through there youll notice that most of the grounds has dead, brown grass. The place does not compare to other complexes in the area in terms of condition...that go for the same price. The final straw was the 8% increase in rent they offered. We complained, saying this market is, at best, 4% increase, and they countered with a 7% increase. We gave notice that we were leaving. Now we have an apartment that is much larger in size for the same price before the 7% increase that Garden Crest was trying to get out of us.I would recommend to everyone that you consider living someplace else.
I am a current tenant in building 31 and have severe pest issues (rats/mice). The pest control is not working and its been not followed up properly. Went into the office to see if I can talk to someone about this issue and my upcoming lease renewal. I found the property manager to be very very rude, she refused to even come out from her office and talk to me about this issue. Basically told me that I can leave the apartment and we dont care at all attitude! Wish she had to live with pests!
Garden Crest maintenance is timely and very friendly
Love this place, low prices , they clean the snow, they clean the garden, they have a beautiful pool, Gym, only great schools, safe, secure, include everything, they take in care of everything.
I lived here for meny years and it gone down hill way down hill. Broken lights that have never been fix broken locks in my building Parking pepole Park where ever they want and the want trash often pies up You better not want matinee it won’t be done I given up askingThen there are the pepole the guy across the hall form me spends his days going though the Laudery dumpster diving there has become over run with pepole on housing assitince who don’t care about the place the magmentn dose not eather the office staff well it turns over so fast your head will spinAnd there rude and unsponciveIt sad to see a once razed price of property trun intiA large dump
Living here since 2013, and the rent, which is increased with every lease renewal (5-10%), is very expensive for the size of the apartment; Snow removal is a problem in certain areas of the complex, . Certain areas of the complex are known for shady activities. Whole community in dark at night...Boo !! Halloween whole year !!!... Small playground for Kid (only 1 on this big community). No Other place to play.
Seriuously 2700 usd for 2 br 2400 for 1 br 2000 for studio. Do you guys really think you are Avalon or something? With old appliances. Nothing new... and when asked they say its market price.
I have been very satisfied with my experience with this community.
Very poor attitude . two guys came and one of them was very rude and its not thr first time. Not very happy with maintenance or management. I had to wait almost a month for maintenance to come and fix my kitchen sink in my bathroom.
Best quality to price ratio around.
If I could give this place negative five stars I would. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Its been 24 hours since the snow started, and weve not seen one snowplow, snowblower, or even a person with a shovel. I have personally moved more snow than any Gardencrest employee today. I walked down to the office and it was locked up tighter than a drum, which is a safety hazard in conditions like this. (what if something truly serious had happened?). Snow was never cleared and one resident, who is a nurse at a local hospital, couldnt get out of the parking lot, so the general ineptitude with snow removal is now putting peoples lives at risk. This is what happens when a locally owned apartment complex gets bought out by a money-grubbing corporation; all they care about is the bottom line while the residents are just collateral.
This time,response was quick.thank you
No parking at all after 9pm, My car got towed right from the parking with a parking sticker, towing has become a big business.
Teddy did a fabulous job
I moved into a townhome that they said was in good condition. When i get there, the power is out on the second floor. It took almost an entire week to get an electrician out to fix my power. They say 24 hour maintenance turn around, that is a joke! I had to continuosly follow up with the office to find out what was going on because there was no communication on their half. Not to mention the bucket list of other things wrong with the apartment such as the dishwasher not working, a burn mark on the top of the counter tops. It has been a complete nightmare! The office does not even pretend to care about your problems.
The WORSE apt I EVER lived in, couldnt wait to leave!! Disgusting smoke smelling apt. Rude neighbors who blast music/tv at all hours of day/night; office says their handling after 6th complaint they handled. You have to pay for ammedities, for these rent prices they should be free. In 3 months maintence was at my apt at least 20 times. Mainly for air and laundry door but took days sometimes over 2 weeks and MULTIPLE calls to office/service line to try n get repairs, useless. Some office staff EXTREMELY rude, and NO communication.Yes there are squirrels, racoons, and other people digging in the garabage..People in my building left their garabage on front steps, by mailboxes...Who in their right mind would want to live here and for price? Their has to be better places, and cheaper.Never have i seen all of this in a place in my 7yrs of traveling.Sooooo glad Im out of there!Mover ins be ware!!
If you enjoy old, unmaintained buildings or treeless streets, move here. Our building routinely floods (or has water back up into sink/tub/etc.). Last year Gardencrest chopped down every mature tree along the street and replaced them with tiny saplings. The snow removal is a joke at best. Plan at least an hour when you visit the office—50 minutes to wait, 10 minutes to try and explain your problem to the annoyed and unhelpful staff. There is absolutely *no* police presence in the neighborhood. The groundskeeping is subcontracted to people who care nothing about the appearance of the neighborhood. The gym is laughable; Ive never swam in the pool. This has been my experience over the last 4 years. All of this, and they increase rent every year.
I have lived here for about 4 months now and worst experience of my lifetime. moved into an apartments that there was graffiti on the walls and doors, 4/6 of the doors didnt close and lock, the shower didnt have a shower head and also never worked, the heat hasnt worked for over a month (its winter) and they still havnt come to fix it. They are exteremly rude and dont care about anything then how much money they are getting each month. They messed up my account and say i owe them an extra $200 and i get eviction notices every month when it wasnt my fault that they messed the account up. They come into your appartment when you request to be home for them to come in. Worst appartment complex i have ever seen and been in. I cant wait for this lease to be over and the missery to stop!!!!!!!
Not worth it!! There is significant lack of communication with mangement and the staff is very rude. Any question you have they say go look at the lease! Apartments have roaches and mice. Several Neighbors in a different building had the same issue. They raise rent about $75 every year if you renew and there is no changing that. Dont do it, I left for another place and will end up paying $200 more a month in rent but its worth the headache and the lack of professionalism at GardenCrest. Worst experience ever.
I have been here almost a yr. Only problem thus far have been the bugs coming from the woods to inside apt building and inside my kitchen till I blocked them.
It takes them two years to fix things around when you report it. Which is really insane!!!
The most disrespectful office staff I have encountered. Rude Rude Rude. The buildings are always dirty and they charge extremely high rent and fees. Would never rent from them again.
