Korean food is really delicious at Royal Seoul. Our favorite is the new BBQ grilled beef with sides of creamy corn, melted cheese and steam egg. Rice noodle and Korean potato noodle are yummy and authentic. We love the Asian wood decor and private seating area. Staff are wonderful and friendly!

I’ve been to this place many times, their food is good and very reasonable. I order their seafood pancake every time I go, I pack most of it home and have it for lunch the next day. Their soups are also done very well. Overall they have good food and that’s why I keep going back. The inside decor is definitely interesting, and you can see the owners spent a pretty penny on it. One weird thing is the washrooms are located on the second floor. The washrooms can use an update though. It doesn’t reflect the same level of decor as the dining room.I like how each table has a vent hood for all the grease and oil when you grill your food. There’s also a button for you to call your server when you need service, which is a nice touch in korean restaurants. The servers I’ve had were all very good. A few even offered to cook our food for us.One thing I think they can improve on is giving the place a deep cleaning on a monthly basis. The floors are usually quite greasy and slippery. Especially going upstairs to the washrooms. I had several near misses slipping down the stairs.

I’ve been eating out too much guys lol. But here’s another review. I was craving comfort food and galbi came to mind. And I wanted a lot of it! I made an order for two servings of galbi and it was enough to satisfy my craving with some leftovers to nibble on later. The taste was great! And I got some pancheon (side dishes) with it which was unexpected but super happy to receive it. This was kimchi, potatoes and bean sprouts. Hit the spot!! Thank you! And I’m giving it 4 stars cuz I just tried one dish so far. I will order again and try their other dishes.

The place is nicely decorated. Their seafood pancake was good(except that ours was half burnt). Their ventilation system is really bad so the smoke is everywhere. Service was bad. We called the waiters several times and had to wait for a really long time for them so show up. We did not know how to adjust the temperature of the stove and no one offered to help us. Our friend told us this place used to be very nice...

Well this one was tough. Normally I dont like to give 4 stars but I feel this place is the perfect candidate. I ordered a Korean beer but I was informed it was not cold...but they did have the Japanese beer cold which is odd in a Korean restaurant. The decor is okay but could use a refreshing for sure. The service was not that good but I understand the staff want to stay away for health reasons so Im okay with that. The food was tasty. We had the $54 BBQ combo for 2. Rice was extra and it came with a few small sides. Overall it was fun but I will probably try another BBQ place to to see how they compare.Cheers

Royal Seoul HouseThis was our first visit.Seating was comfortable. We ordered the Chosun Combination for 5.The food was amazing and there was plenty for the four of us.The service was excellent. The decor was beautiful. Spoke with the owner about the decor and she explained it was made in Korea along with the interior roofing tiles. Normally there is white paper in between the doors but they choose white plastic for durability.Highly recommended!

Good place to get Korean BBQ and other dishes. Came here two times with family and the experience has always been decent. Service is very, very friendly and they have a button to call a server if you need something (although, I’m not a big fan of the doorbell sound upon pressing). Ordered an udon dish for my parents but it had a sour smell/taste to it. The waitress was very kind about it and took it off the bill for us. Other than that, all their dishes taste great.

Probably one of my favourite korean places. Im a huge fan of seafood tofu soup and get it at every korean place I go to, and Id have to say its pretty good here. The seafood pancake was also good, being nice and crispy. My friend has the bimbimbap and it had good flavour to it. They also give a good amount of complimentary side dishes (free to refill).I like this place because the food is good, prices are reasonable, and the place has a lot of room so you never really have to wait. I believe the staff are korean and they have these service buttons at each table so you dont have to worry about waving servers down (super convenient). If youre craving authentic korean food, I would definitely recommend coming here!

Worst service I have ever received in an Asian-cuisine oriented restaurant within the Lower Mainland. This is my 5th and last time coming to this restaurant.I came 3 times with a korean friend and twice (as of today) with a non-asian person. The treatment is completely different when you have someone who speaks their language and doesn’t look like a simple caucasian or is of mixed race like me.There were less than 10 people in the restaurant, we had to click the call button 4 times (waiting 2 minutes between each click) so that a server would come. Not to mention that I spoke outloud “Chogiyo!”, the waitress pretended to not hear and didn’t even bother looking at me.When someone finally came, we ordered our dishes and asked for more tea as we had been waiting too long and had consumed what we had. After 10 minutes of wait my friend stood up and went to the “bussing” area just before the staircase up and the server said she had to go back to the table and wait so that she would come with the tea.More wait and finally she comes with more tea.Shortly after comes the food. My friend had asked for water for us previously but the waitress only brought her water, none for me, and at that point I was too stressed to bother asking for anything else.Who on earth serves spicy food and doesn’t either:- brings water with it;- asks if you need water or anything. When we were finished, as I went to the cashier an older lady asked how was everything. I immediately replied with “My experience was really unsatisfactory today.”She replies “Oh so sorry”. I went on to point out the issues, she interrupted me at first saying “So sorry, place is busy”.I said - “That is far from the truth, there were less than 10 people here when we ordered.”Once again she says “So sorry.” in a fake accent as if she didn’t know how to have a conversation in english and then proceeded to completely ignore me while we were paying. To cut a long story short - food not bad, barbecue and fried stuff never disappoints.Service? Jesus have mercy.—— From the pictures you can see that there were 3 tables with few people and some people in the “floor table” box area pointed with an arrow (the area you take your shoes off).I took those pictures immediately after ordering so I could have it for this review as I was already feeling belittled. —-PS: as to why we have a menu when you remove if after orders are placed? I asked the server to leave it as we at first wanted to order more.

This house has no soul. For real. What a let down overall. I mean the marinated meats were pretty tasty, we got Combo B bbq for 2, the one time we went here but were never coming back. The whole experience was a disappointment.Even with our very costly $59 meat combo they only served us bare minimum side dishes, kim chi, sweet potatoes, fermented cucumber and mongo sprouts - thats it. They charged us $2 for rice. Freaking rice! Never happened to me before in any of the Korean BBQ restaurants Ive been to.I want to rant about how disappointed I was with the whole dine experience but Im just so exhausted with grief and bitterness its so hard to muster up the energy to properly criticize this place. Thats how bad my experience was, it exhausted me until I had no desire to give it the trashing this restaurant deserves.

Had lunch there, was different, and quite enjoyed it, but the food must be very high in sodium as I am super thirsty only half an hour after leaving the place! Service was friendly and good. The restaurant is large and reasonably attractive in surroundings. However, the washrooms really bring the place down a couple levels, even though you have to walk up two flights of stairs to get to them. Not necessarily easy for the disabled and the elderly. I always believed that a good restaurant should have equally good washrooms. Cleanliness is definitely next to godliness when it comes to a washroom and toilet space. It is unfortunate, as I did enjoy the meal, but however a bit later I ended up feeling really very sick. I was sick for the entire rest of the day. I wont be going back there.

Honestly, Ive been to this location 4 times and each time expected it to be better than the previous time that I was here. But really the food isnt that tasty because the meat is quite thick so difficult to cook and it isnt marinated well, making it quite bland. I love this place. I come often. My favourite is the spicy pork bulgolgi. If it isnt busy, they can cook the dish in the kitchen rather than the customer having to barbeque the meat at the table. But it frustrates me they cant do this all the time. How long does it take to stir fry a dish? And you can free up my table if I wasnt slowly cooking the meat myself. But the service is great. No attitude. I like this. That is why I go back so often.

First of all, I am Korean and I am shamed to say that this place got to be the worst Korean restaurant in Vancouver. Mind you that there are a lot of Korean restaurant and this one got to be at the very bottom when it comes to quality of foods and service. I am shamed that they actually call themselves a Korean restaurant. When we arrived, door was locked, said wind was too strong so they locked it. The tea served was cold and it was cold rainy night. The BBQ combo we ordered was poor in quality( we did not finished our portions) and to top it off, we had to ask 3 times to change propane cylinder. The cold noodle at the end of meal was even worse. All in all, it was lowest point of dining experience. I felt discriminated, Ive never felt that way before. We were seated without menus and then ignored. The place was not really busy, one staff member was just standing there staring at us. We were ignored and others were served before us who came in after. We sat there for over 20 min, no menus, no offer for water, tea... nothing. I called out to someone walking by who was seating others (menus in hand) which made me feel rude. The young fella that came, asked if I pressed the button, I said yes, he pressed it to check if it was working, as it did when I pressed it. Finally we got to order, we have never had Korean food before as I explained to the waitress. She would not offer friendly assistance. Yes she spoke English very well so there was no language barrier. We had no idea what we were ordering. We ended up ordering way too much. I noticed how the other tables were getting constant service as I had to ask to have empty plates removed, again feeling totally ignored. I have never in my life made to feel so unwelcome in a establishment. I am greatful I was with such wonderful company. We will never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
