I wish i could give a zero!! It’s not because of the food but it’s because there was only ONE GIRL serving all the tables. She was handling the deliveries too. SHAME ON THE OWNER OF THE RESTAURANT!!!! But hats off to the girl. She was very nice with all the customers and she was doing a great job!!!I just wanna say one thing to the owner- Treat your employees like a human beings and not machines!!

They don’t have the buffet open yet so ordered off the menu for the first time in ever. Pakoras were top notch. The naan was hot and fresh. The peas and cheese was piping hot. And brilliant. Strong recommend. Probably the best Indian I’ve had in years. Note that the restaurant is a bit old and beat up. It’s not fancy. But still. Top notch.

Ive been here twice but never more.Perhaps the only one thing thats nice is the owner/managers friendly demeanor and follow-up about orders and take good care of you. And the washrooms were clean.Pretty sure the food is NOT authentic - be it the Mughlai main course, the chaat snacks, or the South Indian seafood gravies. Food was bland and insipid, completely different to what we Indians are used to. The filling for the samosa and aloo tikki was the same. All 4 snacks were prepared earlier and just deep fried to heat them again when ordered.Interiors were jaded and it seems renovations were last done in 90s. I did see many local families from Punjabi Market area (born here desis) and also Caucasians that ordered in and also constant stream of delivery app drivers here. The good reviews from them perhaps means the food is targeted towards them and catered for their liking. However if youre looking for an authentic experience this isnt it. Stay away if youre Indian for sure. Himalaya opposite to this, although not perfect, is much better, both quality and menu wise.

This is our favourite restaurant in Vancouver! They make the only butter chicken I will eat (they make it extra mild for me and my kid to share) but they also make lamb biryani spicy enough to satisfy my spice-mad husband. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We have been going here for years and hope to be going here for many more!

The place offers a variety of Indian dishes. But some research on the dishes is needed. The dishes are just like an imitation to Indian food. Too sweet and mild. Indian food is not about eating chilli instead enjoying an aromatic experience with spices like cloves, cardamom, cinnamon etc. The service was quite good. The restaurant was neat and tidy and also had television screens to accompany the food.Impressed by the good service and refills of tea. All India Kitchen also offers discount to College students.

Tasty East Indian food items and sweets in this long established eatery. There is a fixed price all all you can eat vegetarian buffet with an extra pay meat option and desserts. Some dishes are a bit sparse on the quantity of meat. If you cant take really spicy foods then order mild or if possible less (let server know). Street parking. #letsguide

Worst food ever had in my life. We ordered Chole bhature, 3 Aloo parathas and 6 gobi parathas. There was no salt in chole. The parathas were the worst. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!I went there with my friends. We Kept waiting for our order for an hour. Then we complained to the manager and we asked him to cancel our order but he talked to us in a wrong tone and said you are new comers student. There was a single girl handling all the tables, taking the orders and manning the counter. It then took 45 minutes for our food to come and then another half hour later they had either not started on an item we had ordered or had simply forgotten. We got takeout from here for the first time on Friday. I didnt know they had moved, and I inadvertently went into Himalaya Restaurant across the street first. Oops! Anyway, Im happy to have discovered All India Restaurant. We ordered: Chana Masala, Mixed Vegetables, Vegetable Biryani, and Garlic Naan. The total came to about $37. Although that seemed a bit on the high side, the portion sizes were generous, so we enjoyed some tasty leftovers the next day. The only downside was that they forgot the naan. Oh well, everyone makes a little mistake once in a while. Well keep coming back until they get it right. :>)

When you are a restaurant in a pandemic hotspot, how hard is it to wear a mask in a food preparation area. We have been going to the All India Restaurant since it was in its original location on the corner of 49th and Main. The original All India had different owners and it seems to have changed hands numerous times. They had a everyday buffet before for like $7 and the food was excellent with a large selection and the service was great as well. All India has now moved to a different spot across the street on 49th and Main and had shifted to a Tuesday buffet service but it seems that they have removed the buffet for now and are focusing on the take out and dine in experience. The restaurant location is less spacious than the other one and the decor while classy and comfortable could probably use a makeover. While the food is usually good there does seem to be a dip in the taste and quality of the meals. It appears like they changed cooks and possibly recipes as there was a chef that had been with the company probably since it opened and continued working there even as ownership switched a few times and the food was consistently good but that chef seems to have left which coincided with the drop in quality of the food. They might be cost cutting as well and so using ingredients that are not as high standard. The dishes are good but they could be improved, they should bring back the original recipes if indeed the recipes have been modified. Most of the staff are friendly and professional especially the gentleman that is usually there who is either the owner or manager but a couple of the female servers there are rude and sometimes you have to ask multiple times for something such as a pitcher of water or a chai refill before they bring it over.It is one of the better Indian Restaurants in the Main Street, Fraser Street area. The best menu picks would probably be aloo baingan, chana masala, Punjabi kadhi, tandoori chicken, daal, bhindi, aloo paratha, naan, chai, etc.

Now, I consider myself a bit of a biriyani connossieur, and honestly since moving to Canada it was difficult to find many biriyanis here that were any good when compared to India. BUT the spicy biriyani here is not only delicious and filling, but by repeated trials; I have come to the conclusion that it is also an incredible hangover cure. Easily one of the top 5 Biriyanis in Vancouver. I would be very happy if this exact same biriyani was served to me back home.Another great thing is the friendly and chill demeanor of the manager/owner.💯💯

Best vegetarian samosas in town, this is comparing it to the dozens of Indian restaurants Ive eaten in Vancouver and Surrey/Delta. I used to be a regular at their old location, but the food quality and value for money at the new place is truly awful. We had the lunch buffet with the add-on $5 goat curry. The goat curry consisted of six small pieces of goat in a watery tomato sauce. All of the vegetable curries were equally watery and devoid of flavour. Even the kheer rice pudding was bad, with added raisins and a heavy taste of over-sweet packaged mix. Sad to see what has become of one of my old favourite Vancouver restaurants. Definitely wont be returning.
