I have been to this cafe thrice, because I have a likeness towards it in terms of its ambience, cheesecake especially and a good collection of books (shh Harry Potter Fan). So, yes posting this review really late but I have been meaning to. So, I wouldnt say it is pocket friendly nor they have many options on the menu, but all the mentioned food items are prepared with lot of love and passion and are pretty good. I personally havent found it this good other than this place. Also, the cafe it quite spacious and the staff is pretty chill. I liked spending time here as one can work, read and chit chat with good coffee. If youre looking for a good drive and craving for some good dessert, this is a must visit place. Once again will be visiting for those pancakes, really admire that spark in the eyes of the chef when he was explaining how he was going to prepare that special pancake. Looking forward for more magic.

We recently found out this cute cozy cafe .. menu is limited but coffee is great.. we tried cafe mocha.. and it was good.. hot chocolate was also yummy . Pesto sandwich was good .They have variety of games available.. u can hang out with ur frnds/significant other some quality time there ..

A genuine paradise for all the coffee enthusiasts of the city. Modernist offers a very contemporary and modern atmosphere. Its menu ranges from speciality coffee brews to muffins, cheesecakes and sandwiches. We had a special V60 cold brew and I let the management choose any beans they preferred and boy did they nail it. Its flavor depth was intense and damn aromatic and just wow. We also had a cold coffee latte which was creamy and really good. Accompanied with a pesto grilled cheese sandwich it was an amazing hangout. The ambience is modern and minimalistic classy. The staff is really friendly and cool. It a must go to for a hangout with great coffee or even just finishing off assignments and work. Great if youre a coffee enthusiast!

By far, one of my favourite cafes! The people, food, coffee, architecture, and the vibes - everything is amazing! Also, its a really good Working/ Chilling space. All the necessary precautions are being taken regarding the Pandemic, and the Sunset views from there are to die for. They are closed only on Mondays.

To the owners,Thank you for the amazing experience we had just at the doorstep of the coffee shop. Your straightforward and concise replies were highly appreciated by us who came just to be driven away because we were a group of 5 by staff who wore masks while enroute to inform about your rules (read owner as well). No one was eating which is the only time anyone should be removing a mask inside the shop, right? The mere amount of people that are showing up despite your announcements on public platforms about the same is concerning for your families and friends safety as you still getting exposed regardless (because you refuse to wear a mask within the premises).I would have loved to comment about the food or the ambience, but that would be hard while standing outside the coffee shop.(FYI the owner tried to look up for the announcement of rules on public platforms, guess what, he couldnt find any)

If theres a place in Vadodara which gets their coffee right, its this place! Be it a simple Frappuccino or a Vietnamese Iced coffee have always enjoyed the coffees at Modernist. Also tried their Mushroom Quesadilla and Tomato Caprese sandwich which were the perfect accompaniment with the coffee. Highly recommended and one of my favorites in Vadodara!

I visit this cafe quite often as it has the best ambience compared to other cafes. Its on 7th floor and the view is pretty amazing from here also there are two open spaces and garden. Hot chocolate and sandwich (everything in my fridge) is must try😍. Also coffee is quite refreshing. One of the best cafes in Vadodara.

A beautiful place run by a group of enthusiastic individuals. Their sandwiches are really tasty and the hot chocolate was just amazing. I would like a few more options in the food menu but otherwise this place is just too good.

The place has a very soothing ambience, with a top floor view which seems to be the attraction for a lot of visitors as it seems to be rarest of the places having such ambience. Coming to food, the food was okayish. Not very good according to the charges for any particular item. Most importantly ,staff, it was quite rude. Had gone to ask about suggestions, they simply pointed at the menu. They lacked basic courtesy to talk to the visitors. Wont recommend it, sole reason being the staffs behaviour.

This place is absolute bliss. Everything we ordered from hot chocolate to the cafe mocha was great. chocolate muffin is a must try. It is the best muffin Ive had in Baroda. The ambience is beautiful. Perfect place to hangout with friends or even if you just wanna go and work. They do have an outdoor seating as well from where you can see the sun set. LOVED THIS PLACE.

So this could be a strange review for the owner: I was recommended by someone to go see this place so I canme seeing the pictures and reviews (mostly everyone would do this) but after reading those reviews people have shared... (Not about the rules I think those rules are great) but the straightforward rude response sounds very arrogant and disrespectful. I wanted to celebrate a birthday but after reading these comments I definitely wont come, I dont want to spoil a good time over someones rude attitude....that doesnt matter to a customer, why would he bother.....!!!!!To the owner: Be rude but try to minimize on the social media be rude to them when they come and here write nice comments so that way people are still coming unlike me, just taking off from reviews only 😂😂😂Anyways, We all should appreciate technology Google reviews in this case and thanks to all those people who share light on such things.But all in all, this is funny 😂

Not all coffees are made for everyone, so you cannot judge from a single cup. Talk to the very knowledgeable team and find your best coffee fix.Also, all visitors, please mask up, this is the least you can do to the community. Just when the idea of cafés were getting clichéd for Vadodara, modernist stepped in to offer something that i was truly missing- great genuine Coffee. Not that Im a coffee connoisseur, but I can differentiate good from bad, and great from good. With its quaint seating and small but well thought menu, I find myself going to modernist for office meetings, hanging out with friends or just chilling by myself and reading a book.Would highly recommend talking to someone there if youre new to the idea of different coffee, theyd guide you beautifully without any judgements. My personal favorites include Vietnamese coffee and cold ginger ale.Kudos team Modernist!

Loved the minimal ambience especially the rugged ceiling. Just need some work on the walls and furniture. Talking about the food, the coffees are too good to handle. Just need to improve in the hand stretched pastas, about them being more saucy and authentic. Need more options on the menu as well. Im sure theyll work.

One place I know where someone can sit for long and work or chat or do whatever one wants to! The best thing is that no one would shoo you off if you reach this place in search of peace to work or so. They have exceptionally unique menu, which eggitarians must adore! The only reason why I would give a star less would be that they would not allow smoking not even in their open air spaces! But anyways, the interior is also amazing. I like the way the light penetrates the window to reach the window-tables while they wont poke the faces of customers 😎 cappuccino was nice there, always!

Very rude staff. We went there and were stopped at the gate like we were entering the parliament. After that we asked how much time waiting and the manager very rudely answered 1-2 hours kuch bol nahi sakte as if theres no other restaurant in baroda and he has a monopoly. Doesnt a restaurant or coffee shop know the approx waiting time for a guest.Just got this reply from the ownerI think you have mistaken us for a restaurant. In fact you acted entitled and not as a guest.We aren’t a restaurant/parliament . We are a coffee shop. Be safe out there.Just goes to show how sensitive are they towards their guestsInstead of apologising they are being rude again.Anyways all the best with your coffee shop if this is your attitude towards your guests. The key selling point of this cafe is the 7th floor open air seating and views of the city. The service could be way better. They are understaffed given the number of tables they serve. They are, at times, high-handed when dealing with customers.We ordered two omelettes for breakfast which arrived at different times. For two people visiting together, it is key that food arrives around the same time.The omelette requested had no veggies/garnishing. I understand this is the way you serve it but it needs to arrive together. And if I request for a small customisation of additional veggies, does it call for additional ten minutes to serve? I think not. What comes into play is just one chef serving 10 tables.They need to improve customer service and ability to take feedback if they are to truly be a good cafe.

Ok so apparently thy have a set of rules for their cafe, but they themselves aren’t following it, also the behaviour of the owner is quite rude and arrogant. Not something which we would like to handle. I left the place just looking at their behaviour, no idea about its food, coffee or whatsoever. Plz try better places with much welcoming staff.

The vibe of the place is what takes me there again and again. Love viewing sunsets from the 7th floor, nicely designed place too and mostly importantly the management is young and enthusiastic so all in all. Such an amazing space. Not at all like normal cafes. One can go there for unwinding after a hectic day. No loud music playing . Apart from coffee , the blueberry cheesecake cake is a must try.

Sourest espresso i ever had. No body whatsoever, very sour no real taste profile other than sour. I thought maybe theres something wrong with their machine like channeling or tamping issues or maybe bad grind but nah the beans just make very unpleasant unsweet sour espresso. It wasnt exactly acidic/ sweet/ limey/ fruity it was sour (the unpleasant type) and felt underextracted. As they say perfect technique, best machine but bad beans get you perfectly bad cup of coffee and that was the case here :-(... i really wanted to like it but wow they really need to upgrade their beans.Place has a lot of potential, a bean upgrade would be diabolical.
