Awesome place to stay if u want perfect lake view....slightly high priced... but good stay, food and ambience

Udaipur is the place where you will find zillion hotels and homestays and havelis, rooftop cafes and lake-view stays, almost all similar and moat of them is either remodeled or renovated or not an actual heritage property.If you want to treat yourself in a royal way and feel the heritage throughout, you must look out for some genuinely heritage property. Couple of years back we came across this amazing property @kankarwahaveli Unfortunately, at that time it was booked completely and we were determined tostay here once! And today, here we are!!!A complete feel of heritage and staff service, especially a manager Mr. Divyarishi, is too polite that we felt royal too! I highly recommend to those who found of heritage stay!

Awesome and vintage haveli to stay, if truly want to get the feeling of udaipur just stay for a day here, the owner of the place is very nice and generous and as soon she got to know my wife is carrying, she offered us the groud floor room which is right next to lake and with a awesome lake view, Just loved the hospitality.

One of the best views for the money I have ever had in a hotel. The rooftop has a gorgeous view in the morning and a direct view of the sunset over the lake. The rooms are simple but spacious.

I had booked this haveli for our family holiday during Diwali vacay for 3 nights.I was looking for a hotel adjacent to the lake,most were booked due to the peak season.I was happy that I chose this property.It is beautiful cute haveli with lake veiw rooms and a roof top restuarant.The owners of the place are very helpful and staff is courteous.The only thing that they can work on is the choice of breakfast menu which is quiet limited in the sense of options.However the taste is quite good.Loved the nearby shops and restuarants of this haveli.Special mention to the owner,they returned my charger by courier which I had left in the room.Really had a memorable stay.

Such a nice Haveli right on the banks of Lake Pichola.Clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Right in the middle of the old town market. But away from all the hazzle and noice.

A traditional haveli oozing with styleBuilt on the banks of the magnificent Lake Pichola in the old part of Udaipur, the Kankarwa has a vista other hotels can only dream of. Constructed in traditional style this haveli overlooks the lake and has a roof-top terrace and beauty in abundance. The staff offer outstanding customer service; eager to please. The owner’s wife Rudrangda Kumari looked after us throughout our stay. She even cooked dinner for us one night and it was delicious. Breakfasts were more than adequate, juice, eggs, cereal, tea/coffee or Indian. But the view from the terrace was the most important part. Some of the terrace is covered in case it rains.If you have any impediment walking-wise, this may not be the place for you. There’s no lift and several flights of narrow stairs up to the roof. But that’s the traditional side of the building. There are padlocks and sliding bolts on the old-style doors, day beds to look out of the windows. Paradise.There are various restaurants nearby if you want variety and heaps of shops within a 15-minute walk (or a short tuk-tuk ride).And, for those romantics, get reception to book a private boat ride around the lake – well worth the expense.

Nice hotel very next to lake. Rooms are large and have good theme. Only cons are bad wifi and no parking. If you have car, pArk it in govt parking

Its one of the prime properties attached to lake pichola at you footstep. A heritage property, a heveli converted to a home stay. I stayed in room no. 204 which is on the ground floor the best part about this room is its a straight room. in one section there is a double bed and straight ahead in line is a sitting area with two couches facing each other and then comes the best part that is the window with a small gallery with iron railing which opens into the beautiful waters of lake pichola just a few feet below. Dining area is on the terrace with the magnificent view of the lake and also some iconic properties like the City Palace, Taj Lake Palace, udaivilas. Few things to note the hotel only serves veg food which is home cooked. Food is average but freshly cooked. you can order veg food from outside but u cannot order non veg food. As your parcel will be checked. There is no room service. But its an experience to live here.

They are very rude ppl. They send me out before chekout time and said that they need to ready the room for next guest aroud 12:00 pm.But i was waiting with my wife at their guest room and no one came for checkin for the same room.And room was so bad ..it was smeeling too badly , withoutout TV, washroom was v bad all gate was v small , dark .Dont book this hotel ever.

I came to know about this place through tripadvisor.First things first. This is a 190 year old haveli that has not been structurally changed a lot. For people like me who love visiting places with a history this place holds a definite charm. I loved my stay at Kankarwa Haveli.The place is centrally located and its actually on the lake (unlike a few others who claim so). The views from the rooftop restaurant are spectacular and one of the best ones you can find on Lake Pichola (which is the heart of Udaipur city).The City Palace is Walking distance and so is Bagore ki Haweli (the two major attractions of Udaipur that one should not miss)The views from the lake side rooms are also very beautiful. We dint like the suite that much though. It is more spacious with a very nice bathroom but the view is very restricted.The lake view rooms are the best I guess but not the ground floor ones.The place is not safe for family with small kids (3 yrs or below) as the railings and the parapets are very unsafe for kids. Youd be worrying all the time.Perfect place for couples. But the drawback is no room service (which they let you know while booking)The restaurant has very limited food options but that shouldnt be a problem as there are various nice eateries just round the corner. You just have to walk maybe 50 to 500 metres for a variety of options.The place has a lovely old world charm, the host family very warm and helpful. I interacted with the owner as well as his son and thats how I came to know about the place being so old. Theyre doing a good job.Overall the place is highly recommended for couples as well as families.

Kankarwa haveli is located at prime location on lake pichola in Udaipur.Rooms are decent but roomservice is not so good. A lot can be done in food quality also.

Upside - A very sophisticated refurbished old haveli in the interior of old city area of Udaipur. Newly done up rooms keeping in mind old rajasthani architecture.Rooms have a view of Pichola lake.Rooftop restaurantDownside - Roads upto the haveli are very narrow and can get steep. Cabs may not drop you upto the haveli.Not disable friendly as the haveli has no lift.Can be tricky to find for a new comer.

They have only amazing view from the hotel....but there room service is very bad,people there are so rude...,they dont have space for parking, also they have small and stinking washroom, even there food is not that nice,....
