Its an heritage hotel, the entrance has huge doors and there is a verandah.The rooms seems to be cozy and lake facing.The staff informed that the palace was nearly 200 years old and then converted to the hotel.The rooms were vast and clean, the staff was attentive and also gave information about various places.The room offered the lake facing view and at night the city palace view was beautiful.They informed they also had boat service, which we didnt availed.

A feel good, feel royal place. The lake view supreme rooms are very spacious, luxurious and view ‘to-die-for’. The whole place has a great vibe, serene atmosphere, amazing ambiance. Staff is very helpful, polite and will always greet you with a smile. Big ++ to the Ambrai restaurant (if you’ve a room then you’ll get a priority) and what an amazing view you get from there. Amet Haveli offers a Lakeview dining experience. Food was delicious. The only negative side is that you cant take your car as the way is too steep and congested. Other than this its a perfect spot to spend evening. Sitting by the lake and enjoying food.

Amazing hotel with probably the best lake view in Pichola lake area. My recommendation is to take Suite room (111) to enjoy the best view of City Palace and Taj lake palace. Much recommended!

Ambiance is good… but service is pathetic.. they don’t give response to Indian it seems.. and also as per govt the mineral water should be charged on mrp but they charge almost 4 times of mrp.. A big NO

The room was terrible and dirty..They didnt even provide a thick quilt for the night. Just a think sheet to sleep with.The food was tasteless and the staff was in hurry to clean the tables. They only charge you for the view. In all terrible experience.

This property have nice big room which are maintained very well. Main building is heritage but doesnt have lake facing rooms which are available in separate building which are very beautiful and spacious..in house restaurant is superbly located and view is worth 1000 bucks.. Enjoyed morning breakfast ... Service is bit laggard and staffs need proper training and grooming.Overall property is 5 start based on location and heritage meterFood is not worth mentioning separately

I went in the restaurant there on my birthday. Nice place for candle light dinner with splendid lake view. The food is very delicious especially Cheese Garlic naan and Veg. Platter. I would totally recommend this place for people looking for good food with good ambience.

Its nice and very good hotel and Lakeview looks awesome. The hotel restaurant is one of the best place in the city with great view . And also seen the sun rise from your room and it looks very beautiful and speechless experience

The stay was comfortable. The ambrai restaurant has beautiful views but the food is over rated. The rooms are absolutely beautiful with views of the lake and havelis from almost all rooms... The staff is sweet. But not too forthcoming. If youre not looking to be pampered by the staff, you will like the place. Its very pretty.

Pathetic rooms were offered to us and the staff ws rude and there was no dental kit in the hotel or any hot water, we paid for breakfast but still could not eat properly because the taste was pathetic and really bad selection of food

Amazing heritage property, Beautiful place to stay, Peaceful rooms with lake view. Breakfast is not lavish but decent. Not accessible by cabs as its within the narrow streets of old udaipur but auto rickshaw will do the job.

Booked a suite and got super deluxe. Hotel never informed that they havent provided the booked category. Manager accidentally mentioned that the room is super deluxe at night when we inquired about amenities. Hotel can only be reached through rickshaw and that also mostly one need to rely on hotel to arrange. We were given two 500 ml water bottles and when asked for a refill it was not done. when asked for dental kit they said we dont provide (its supposedly 3-star property charging 7k per night). Due to holi we were told to have breakfast by 10 am and no service post that as they were closed (no restaurant nearby also open) First ever worst experience in Udaipur. they have the arrogance of the view but even that is not the best. the room rate difference however the ticket has been opened with them.

Very beautiful heritage haveli with views as good as the lake palace. Beautiful garden and surroundings n nice spacious rooms. Only the restaurant is amazingly beautiful but food is horrible...way too spicy even after mentioning food palette type. And too overpriced for mediocre food...they only charge for the ambience. Staff is not cooperative and impolite.

This is a very poorly maintained properly. The shower panel just fell off while taking the shower and was quite dangerous.The TV wasnt working while we checked in, had to battle between the the repairs in the room while checked in was a very poor experience.Car or cab wont reach the hotel. Each time you have to hire a rickshaw or hire a two wheeler, which is an added cost.Overall the staff is not responsible or responsive. I highly would not recommend you to book this hotel.

This Place is huge , you can spend quality time inside the Hevli. Neat and clean rooms. Ambrai the restaurant is a cherry on top for this place. Sir there and relax while day. Amazing view.Mr. Arif manges the hospitality ! Very very cooperative team they have and Arif ji is a true professional. Food quality is good. Awesome room service , very clean place and they treat their guest ! This hotel will pull me to visit there every year !

We are still in Amet haveli checked in today 18/2/2021 but the internet network is terrible..called in reception they informed it will start working in sometime but there is still no improvement. Request to check everything before booking

Location and room is good but not the usp of this place. Its was a huge pain getting to the hotel. The lanes are so narrow and busy that it is impossible for two cars to fit in. You will have to be extra cautious even if there is an auto-rickshaw in front of you.The food at their restaurant, Ambrai, is not something great and definitely not worth the price they charge. Its like paying a huge premium for a food which will be available at an usual restaurant.Lastly, both the restaurant and hotel staffs are not courteous. Rather, I would say they are rude at times.Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

Loved the view from room as you could see city palace as well as lake palace. However reaching there by our car was very challenging due to narrow lanes.The restaurant I felt could have taken more precautions in terms of covid as the customers were just carelessly roaming around without mask even when they were not eating food. Also the food was decent, not that great.We went there for our anniversary and even mentioned it to the staff but they didnt show any gesture for the same. Usually, when we travel and stay at hotels during our special days we are greeted with something. It just makes the stay more memorable. Also, one thing I didnt like was that we had requested for our breakfast to be packed as we had to leave early morning. Even though we were promised the same during booking but on arriving there they refused stating covid as the reason.

Though the location is good and room view is nice, there are many key aspects to this property which is a big turn off.1. There is NO APPROACH ROAD to this place. The road to the hotel is extremely narrow and is always jam packed except for early mornings and late nights. Even though the property managers will tell you that BMWs and Land Rover gets in easily, it’s definitely not true.2. NO ROOM SERVICE AVAILABLE. You will have to go to the restaurant even if you are tired or don’t want to step out for any suitable reason. First hotel ever where I have witnessed this.3. Staff is not friendly. They have a “take it or leave it” attitude. No accountability and no focus on costumer satisfaction.4. The restaurant, AMBRAI, is the BIGGEST SCAM. It is supposed to be a very good restaurant. Other than the view, which is good no doubt, there is nothing to look forward to. The food is not as per the price they command. Irrational prices and ridiculous portion. Two pieces of butter chicken for over Rs. 500, which is not even good.Note- if you are from Mumbai, then you get better food at the most ordinary restaurants there than here.5. The service at the restaurant is not good. They have literally thrown the plates on the table in front of us.All in all, the only thing you are paying for is the location which is available at many other hotels around Lake Pichola in Udaipur.

Stayed for 3 days in first week on Nov’20. Great location, best views, helpful staff, tastefully decorated living and community spaces. Enjoyed evenings and dinners at Ambrai Restaurant on Pichhola Lake Side.Only caution - be prepared to park our car elsewhere. It’s nightmare to drive in narrow lanes of old city. However, if you are hellbent, hotel manger Mr Arif will help you there too,Many thanks to Arif, for all the help and support.

Brilliant property. And fantastic hospitality.Just a word of caution. Although parking is inside the haveli, if wanting to come to the haveli during evening 5-7 pm (for check-in or after a day tour in Udaipur) avoid taking a car towards the finalmost lane going towards the haveli. For time being..just park it in the interior roads..in front of Lake Pichola hotel which is next to Amet Haveli.. or some other hotel. This is because the property is situated bang on Ambrai ghat and attracts a lot of tourists as one of the best sunset points. All tourists park their vehicles in front of the hotel premises which is a common congested area with no to very little room for a car to navigate through the final lane.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel within in old mansion. Service was great and the rooms were like being in a castle. So relaxing just to read in the courtyard or at the restaurant. I walked around several hotels in town and this was by far the most inviting. Some rooms have a little bit of street noise, but overall very peaceful of an evening. The spa is also excellent.

Welll maintained. Good view.... Heritage property..... Costly also. Pl dont bring your vehicle here as getting in and out is very tough ....park outside. You can bring it during night time...and take it out early morning... Parking is limited here. Our stay for three days was good.

We loved this hotel. Perfect position in Udaipur and we were upgraded for free to a wonderful marble suite jutting out onto the lake. The breakfasts were good, evening meals superb, obviously a 5* review. Well it would have been but they cheated us of nearly five pounds on checkout by converting our meals etc bill to pounds without our permission - at an awful rate. Do stay there but dont let them pull that trick on you. Look very carefully at the credit card receipt on checkout.

Even after a long day of site seeing all around the city and witnessing various historical splendors, nothing could beat the view, the ambience, the food and the courtesy that we were offered at Amet Haveli . With your favorite songs being played by a flute artist in the background, dim lighting and the cool breeze from the beautiful lake.. Nothing more could have been asked as the conclusion of a tiring yet satisfying day..

Good hotel to stay. The new wing is good and the rooms are big and well appointed. Little work remains though. Good restaurant bit slow service. They need to increase their staff strength.

The place really seemed nice, the lights and setup was of quality level. One thing I noticed that Rajasthan is famous for foreign travellers and this restaurant promoted their welcome more than us Indians. They talk like foreigners are their only customers. The manager here is not quite helpful to talk for queries.

Having travelled to more than 30 countries this is by far THE WORST restaurant I have ever visited.I was at Ambrai ghat with my family and eight months old daughter when it started pouring heavily . My daughter was crying and we decided to stop at Ambrai for a quick snack so that I could feed her.It was 7 pm the entire restaurant was empty except one table occupied . The staff refused to give us a table even when I requested them that I would feed my daughter and we would order tea and leave in half an hour .They laughed at us and told me to talk to the manager who was even worse.His exact words were I will give you warm milk but not a table ! I was not there begging for food. Anyone out of humanity will give a table if they see a child crying esp if the entire restaurant is empty. Apparently they were entirely booked.I have never faced discrimination in my own country . Is this your hospitality? you only favour foreigners? Your entire management mocks at guests ?telling us to get out and that there is an auto stand outside ?Rajasthan is known for culture and hospitality and you are a so called heritage hotel ! Shame on you! You dont deserve one star too.

Had only dinner at the Ambrai hotel. Food was decent. Staff pays more attention to foreigners. However the location and view at night time was worth the fee.

Beautiful historical Haveli! Had an excellent stay with a perfect view to the lake... one of the most peaceful spots in town... Food was excellent. Order some traditional Marwari food. You cannot go wrong!

This hotel had everything going for it - fantastic lakeside location with view of the Palace - but it fell short.The room location with lake view was good but the bathroom fittings not clean with poor water supply.The big disappointment was the restaurant - we booked a lakeside table but were made to wait nearly an hour because a group was expected - they did not come till much later - and the table we had been promised had been let to someone else.Staff were willing but were in dirty uniforms. Food was average - not outstanding.This is just poor management - its not inevitable - we had outstanding experiences nearly everywhere else we went in India,

The best hotel at a price range between 4k - 8.5k. You can book tickets directly from them. The view from the hotel room is awesome. Ambrai Restaurant is connected to the hotel. No issues with parking; however, getting to the place is painful as the roads are very narrow. The hotel staff is very good. I would prefer visiting this hotel again!

This is one of the hotels whose service is worse than an all my experiences at OYO and Airbnb combined. If you want to experience racism in your own country this is the best place to be! The staff is completely ignorant to your needs, while ready to serve white guests at all times. It doesnt matter to them, how much you are being charged for your stay or be polite, the gaze of discrimination is quite ingrained.

We went to have dinner at Amet Haveli. Restaurant has a fabulous lake view with candle lit tables. Food is very tasty and drinks were served chilled. Prior reservation is highly recommend. A must visit place for dinner in Udaipur.

Lovely Boutique Hotel, excellently located with a great view of the Udaipur Skyline along Lake Pichola. The setting of the restaurant is the best in Udaipur.

Amet haveli is set in a beautiful location by the lake and their restaurant - Ambrai has a magical ambience and great moghlai food. We stayed in deluxe and suite room categories facing the lake and they were comfortable and clean to stay with basic amenities also included.

We had dinner there in Feb/March 17. It was a hard place to get to but once you get there the ambience in the evening looking over at the Taj lake palace was fantastic. While the food was nice the six of us thought that the service was overbearing and they couldnt wait to see people leave. Obviously turnover is important at this location

Their restaurant has one of the best views in Udaipur, however they are discriminating towards Indians. They can refuse to provide nice table, appropriate services even when the whole restaurant is vacant.Their food is ok types, however their manager is rude and arrogant. Its a small boutique hotel situated in the old town , right on the bank of lake Pichola , rooms with the lake view are the best , it also have the famous Garden lake view restaurant AMRAI , view is equally good during lunch and dinner but in the evening the view of city palace and lake palace is amazing as they lit it in the evening. Advisable for dinner but one should book in advance due to high demand . Access is limited , car cant go there either walk up there or hire a auto Rikshaw /tuk tuk.
