The place has very much improved since the start of corona season. Even a mini train has been set up which travels around the place. Had lots of fun

Since our last visit in 2019 during the Renovation phase to completion, Veli tourist Village has gone through a big improvement. Solar power train, boat rides, pedal boat plus plenty of slides. This is an excellent picnic spot for families with >11 yrs children. Unfortunately for the beach lovers, we cannot access it as its a non - swimming zone. Most of the beach has gone due to water levels going up. Try and visit before 4 pm.

After renovation its one of the best places in Tvm for a family outing with kids. The play area could have included some variety play equipment than the outdated ones we all are used to. Akkulam scores better in that aspect.

Its a must visit. Since its near to kochuveli, most of the tourists are those who board trains from there. Its a beautiful beach with a beautiful garden. Ticket cost is 20 rupees for each person. Small lakes, restaurants, childrens park, games, horse riding are available. There is a small train which takes us through the whole veli. Its not just a beach. Its A must visit n the visit will be memorable.

Veli tourist village is a crowded place if going on weekends or any holiday season. It will be full of kids as there is a childrens park inside. Latest main attraction is miniature train which goes around whole village including above Veli lake itself. This is a craze now and its easily a crowd puller, so need to book tickets for it the moment you enter park.Park overall is maintained well and you hardly see trashes. Apart from kids park, you get to see beautiful well maintained lush green lawns and sculptures of shell (which is quite big), lady and few other random designs. There is an artificial pond which has lot of tortoise and fishes in it. People usually sit there and feed fishes and tortoises with popcorn they get from stall.You have speed boat and normal boats (which goes with group of around 15 people) which take you for a ride in Veli lake. There is one floating restaurant and other normal food vendors as we walk towards Veli beach. Also you get to beach side by going over a floating bridge (on Veli lake) which can freak you. You can try Horse riding, beach area is clean but most of the days tide would be so high that you wont be allowed to stand in water.Timing of Train is 11 AM to 6 PM, Wednesday alone trains dont operate for maintenance. its charge is 50rs and free for kids less than 5 years. Timing of Boating is also till 6 PM. Its better to go there during weekdays when crowd would be less, you can enjoy more. During COVID times, better to avoid going there during weekends.

Veli lake tourist village is a good hangout place for family and kids. Childrens park, Miniature railway, boating and the floating restaurant are the highlights. Speed boating is available. Though the place is really good, the beach is quite disappointing, not clean at all.

Very well maintained space for a great evening.The space is very beautifully renovated with modern lighting and amenities. Loved the measures taken to ensure a truly beautiful visiting experience. The train was just very awesome with the newly constructed steel bridge and the crossing lanes and all.The entrance itself welcomes you to a new experience. Entry fee of 20 seems very low as it helps keep unwanted visitors outside.There are multiple shops and milma parlours to provide snacks. The Pazhampori from KTDC was just mindblowing.So happy to see local destinations getting the right care by tourism department and tourfed has done really good in operating the park with all the really helpfull staff.

The newly renovated veli tourist village looks clean and modern but there isnt any covid protocol maintenance by the authorities. The people coming there especially during the weekend days are so much. But nonetheless it is great to see such a beautiful place right next to the ocean. The horse back rides and boating facilities surely adds a cherry on top.

A well maintained area to relax and enjoy the lake and sea side with your beloveds and children.. Garden and premises provide a warm vibe to spend your time ..ktdc restaurant and snacks bar are also there for refreshments and it is adjacent to the play area for children ... Tree shades and park benches are in large numbers to sit and enjoy. The major attractions are speed boating and group boating on the lake side and mini train to chug through the whole tourist village with the co operation of ktdc with Indian railway.. Flotilla - the floating restuarant is one of the unique feature here..

The Floating Restaurant is a great place to catch the sunset with your loved ones over a cup of coffee. The rates of entry at the park is affordable as well. Women friendly patrol is regular in the park. Easy access to washrooms and toilets can be found. The Kerala Government has expended a lot to renovate and rejuvenate this tourist spot. Work is still underway. Hoping to see the project completed soon. A good hangout spot with friends. A good place to have a picnic.

After renovation the veli tourist village is a much more exciting place than before. In general the crowd has increased.Enough parking space is available outside. Car parking charge is 20 Rs.Entry fee is 20rs per person for adults.5 Rs per children upto 12 years.The mini train service inside the village starts from 10am and has rides every 30 min, except 1pm-2.45pm which is the charging time.Fee is 50Rs per person for adults and 30Rs for children. It covers both the island through a new bridge made for the train. In between rides they spray some kind of disinfectant to clean all the cabins.Boating fee is separate , Rs 100 per person for safari boats and Rs 1000 per speed boat which includes a maximum of 4 persons . Speed boat roams around the lake for around 30 min.Horse riding is available at the sea shore. Rates is unknown.Food courts are present inside the village with reasonable rates from which you can get ice creams , snacks, biryani, tea etc.Even on sunny days you can sit comfortably under the shades near the lake.

One of the best options in Trivandrum for hangouts. Earlier this place was used by couples mostly but now, I see a lot of families visiting here and its because of the recent renovation with more toys and playing stuffs for kids. Major attractions are boating, train journey, floating restaurant, floating bridge, seashore etc. Its a complete time pass with lot of parking spaces for both 2 & 4 wheelers. Entry fee is 20 for adults and 5 for kids upto 12. Train and boating fee is separate.

The garden can be accommodated with better plants and resting places for the public. There are no much places to rest.

Now its more improved compared to few years back, floating restaurant with scenic view worth a visit.

Veli tourist village is kind of little away(10-12 Kms) from the Trivandrum city and located in a not so crowded area amid the backdrop of the Veli Lake. This place has an awesome all-around view from the middle of the lake with an option to use pedal boat, row boat or motor boat. It also has a nice childrens park for young kids thus offering something for everyone in the family and ideal to have a daylong picnic. There are couple of food stalls and ice-cream shops priced typical of any tourist place. Overall a great experience and one of the not to miss tourist places in Trivandrum city.

Good place but there are a lot of limitations. There are beautiful gardens, a boat ride and a few tools for children to play with. When I left, there was some construction work going on and it was going to be more beautiful. Anyway, the entrance fee is very small.The beach front is not at all great, washed up weed along the entire beach front, its quite sad to see such a beautiful beach wasted due to lack of cleanliness. Overall a good place to spend couple of hours in the evening.

Spent one afternoon here.. its an amazing outing place.. the combination of Natural Clean Beach with the park was really cool..The beach was one of the cleanest Ive been to in Kerala. It was very less crowded, but that might just be because of the afternoon.The floating restaurant was pretty to look at but didnt have any good food options.. so thats the only negative. Overall its nice for a fun little outing with family or even alone👍

Opened after renovation. Very crowded. Parking also an issue.The mini train is the latest attraction. Also speed boat and paddle boats are available. A HPT 32 Deepak aircraft is also kept on display.

Very disappointed... Not at all maintained well the lake is under the verge of survival.. lot of plastic waste & algae across the floating bridge , floating cafe is still become an image only.

A place for kids. They will surely love it.

A great vacation spot. obviously costly. Food for two would cost around ₹1500. And the cottages are around 8-10K INR for one day and night stay. But you can take the backwaters ride and enjoy the view. They start at around ₹2.5k for a person but would easily drop to around ₹300 per person. Do not forget to bargain. The place is quite photogenic too.

The train is a good addition to an otherwise great place. Things to do - Toy train, Childrens park, Boat ride, Snacks at the newly opened restaurant, Kite flying, Horse riding (not recommended) and of course the beach. Great for a couple of hours in the evening. Decently maintained, could be better.
