Food for Freedom, an initiative by the Department of Prison and Correctional Service, Kerala Prisons, has been drawing hordes of customers with their hygienic, well-managed and delicious food varieties available at the takeaway counter in Thampanoor Bus Terminal and other mobile counters in the city including Museum, East Fort and medical college. Now, they are all set to take the next step to deliver prison-prepared dishes to the masses through online food delivery services.

Definitely an awesome experience.. Perfectly following the Covid protocols the difference from others is that the new process of serving packed and hot food and self disposal plate and scissors on the table is so confiding in the safety and gives a feel good.. To the customers. The well prepared food shows their professional interest in serving. The pricing is absolute shocker for me after a stomach full delicious meal.. I made it a point to go the staff and thanked them for the whole experience they gave me.

This is a food outlet run by the Jail department (food is prepared by the prisoners) and is a popular eating spot despite the limited menu.The roadside location at Poojappura is convenient, with ample parking space. The eatery is neat and clean, staff are extremely polite and helpful, and the food and juices are popular. Since parcels are a big part of the turnover, some items like packed chapatis or curries can be in short supply especially in the evenings.Rates are very reasonable.

An amazing restaurant serving up delicious homely food for pocket friendly rates. Certainly worth a visit. Food tends to finish off quickly, so beat thrle crowd and arrive early if you dont want to miss out the food.

If ur budget is low and you need good food well this is one of the places to visit definitely. I cant guarantee every item will be in bigger quantity but we have to consider the price too. There is a decent car parking too.

You’ll get good quality prison made food from Food for Freedom Cafeteria. And they have both indoor and outdoor dining tables. They also provide fresh juice. All these under very low rate

A good cafeteria available in TVM. The food served is tasty and clean. The atmosphere Inside the cafeteria is just great. The cost is very budget oriemted and less. A range of dishes are available here. As this is a government owned cafeteria its pretty much great. I had Parotta and beef from here which was good. The Bouquet type serving is great. The pay and eat type service is followed here.

Food made by jail mates..a novel idea. Tasty as well but giving it in non-biodegradable packets and plates is undesirable. Probably one of the most inexpensive restaurants in the city..

For the price of the food items this is the best option. Quality is good and hygiene is very good. Not too many items on the menu is the flip side. But for the budget I would prefer it any time.

This is an initiative of the Kerala prisons department. The food served here is prepared and packaged by prisoners themselves. While the menu is limited, the food is of good quality and hygeinic. The restaurant is clean and large enough. The only drawback is that since all the food is packaged a lot of plastic waste is generated.

Tasty puttu & egg curry. Wish they served in proper plates instead of one time use Aluminium plates and packs. Its probably one of the cheapest restaurants in the ciry..

They have cheap and decent food. Even though the food isnt that great but the value for money makes you forget it. The staffs are also very helpful and prompt.

The food is tasty ambience is also good, but there is no systematic way to deliver food... Chappathis r avble only in packets of 5, 10 & 20. We have to pay and take the token 1st then they will provide the food, that too pre packed in polythene covers... Then we have to take the plates which is again wrapped with polythene sheets.. then grab a seat.. Now everyone is trying to avoid plastic as much as possible but here these ppl r creating more n more plastic wastes... At least they can serve in restaurant n plastic can be minimised in parcel service alone...

Cafeteria which is organised by the Kerala state Govt under Jail section. Which is located near the Central Jail poojapura Trivandrum Kerala India. its a rehabilitation process done for the prisoners and the food here is much good and the place is too hygienic. Varieties of foods are served here poor to high class people used to come here. Its an awesome place good environment and all.
