Its kind of a fine dining space, the prices indicate it. The ambience also matches. Very good place to sit in and dine. The food is good. Mutton chops were nice. One prawns and noodle soup was superb.Even when the food court outside is crowded we may find some place to sit inside here, but it will cost you.

Much varieties of cuisines and even the menu card hold a touch of premium look which gives a good first impression. Price side is a little bit on expensive side.

I have been to this restaurants a multiple times, but this was the first time I tried these dishes from the restaurant.1. Varuthu aracha chicken kebab2. 1940s recipe mutton shallow fry3. Punjabi murgh fried rice.Phenomenal !!!Every bite was delicious. Every bite I took from kebab and mutton fry, my mind was chanting, loved it.Punjabi murgh was also delicious, however, we find it slightly eggish. But it is not too overpowering, so enjoyed the dish a lot.

Great food but a bit pricey. I can tell you that you will love the food but for whats served, the food is a bit pricey in my opinion. The service was great. Very polite staff always ready to help. The food was very tasty. My parents loved it. Overall a well maintained place with clean restrooms and the staff make sure there arent any unsightly plates on the tables. Would definitely recommend this place. Go give it a try. The sealed mouth fresher after the meal is a nice touch.

Azad star is one of the decent restaurants in Mall of Travancore with well done interiors that makes you want to give a second look at the design details. If youre looking for a place to enjoy your meal, in a much relaxed manner than the crowded food court, then this is the one. Talking about the food, ordered 3 soups, out of which Travancore mutton soup was the best. It was soothing and had a nice flavour of mutton.Ordered honey chilli wings for starters. It looked amazing and we couldnt wait to get our hands on it. But all we could get at the first bite was the sweetness of honey. The flavour of honey was too overpowering that we could hardly get the flavour of anything else. Couldve been a bit spicy to balance it out. In short , i cant talk much about the food here but whatever we ordered seemed disappointing. Probably a bad day. Anyway, i hope they get better and live upto the standards of their interiors.

Situated inside the Travancore Mall at Trivandrum. I like to give reviews on two aspects. i.e on Food and on Ambience.Food- I can give just 2 stars for the same. Ordinary food and not so oweful. They have a lot of varieties on the menu card. When asked for Hot water, the waiter brought a Jug of water directly from the stove which was too hot!!!! Ordered for something called Sizzlers chicken. When it was brought to the table it was making a hell a lot of noise and also smoke. U get hardly 3 small pieces of chicken and other things were tomato and Vegetables. Two variety items which were tasty are Honey chicken and Mutton kothuporotta. Suggest for ordering that items if you visit. Also the service was so bad, the waiter was behaving very poorly. A bit expensive tooAmbience- Too good.. Nice to be in such a place. Nice lighting. Enough seats, and the wall plastering too is good.Was surprised to see only a few people inside the restaurant that too on a Saturday night. I think the reason would of poor food quality.

Have visited twice. Similar quality as you find in other azad hotels. Excellent quality foods. Appam and fish curry was awesome. Biriyani is also good there. It has good number of seats. Since MOT is a favorite place among trivandrum people now, usually this place is mostly full on weekends. Not sure how it is on weekdays. But once lulu comes, it will be good competition. Ambience inside is really good. The interior designer has done a really good job. Prices are slightly on the higher side but thats expected given that its situated in a mall.

Whenever it came into the city, foodies are dying over this. Simply you cannot get over the place. Specialized on all kinds of Indian and Arabian cuisines, they do it great. Dishes will make you drool and satisfying at the same time. Staffs are not that friendly. And they are bit over priced when compared to other Azad over the city. But they are worth your spend. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. One cannot go on about talking Azad Star without mentioning about their Mint Lime. Whenever I go, I order the Mint Lime at the beginning and at the end. It really is a game changer.

Dont try the Kerala meals or fish curry options..the biriyani items might be better..

Good hygiene. But from my personal experience you order something and you get something else was my experience. I ordered Dragon chicken and they gave me chilly chicken claiming that it is dragon chicken. I didnt went for an argument as I got it after waiting for 40 minutes and I was hungry as well. Sad.

Newly opened fine dine in Mall of Travancore. Vast menu with emphasis on traditional Kerala dishes ( with twists ). Big fan of the tangy beetroot chicken curry ,which was exceptional. The interior /decor is well crafted. Disheartened by the multiple bad reviews in Google about the place. Biased perhaps. Azad is not really known for good service.I personally have had bad experiences with ill behaved waiters at other joints(especially Medical College one ). However , this place seems to be an exception. All 3 encounters with the staff have been friendly, so far.

If your vegetarian, I would recommend that you give this place a miss. I came on 17 Jan seeing the nice interior and decor. While the aesthetics on the place is quite good and makes one feel as if they are in a posh restaurant, the vegetarian food is really sub-par. With a supremely oily starter and a vegetarian biriyani that is a pulao with fried bread pieces in it.Suffice to say it left a bad taste in my mouth. I do hope my non-veg friends have better luck here that I did.

You must try their biriyani which is worth. The restaurant is designed with a history of Trivandrum and Azad hotel with drawings. Staffs are very polite and you may have to wait if its rush. In Travancore Mall, you can ask them to book your seats and walk around the mall and by the time you are back, your seats would be ready for you.

Azad has a legacy of feeding trivandrum for a long time. The taste is the best. Apart from normal Azad they have some special dishes on their menu tried betrrot chicken which was superb. Ambience is some what another level over all finest dining experience

You must try their MUTTON BIRYANI -its juicy and it comes with an egg, a slice of pineapple🍍 and dates pickle as accompaniment.Their PASSION LEMONADE is also a must try.The vegetarian options are scarce but the ones that they serve are delicious.Its perfect for family dinningSometimes the service is not that great - but lets just say that its because of the big crowd they have to manage.Their waiting area system can be improved. Thefacility is great but the system can be made more efficient.Its a bit on the expensive side i admit but nothing like good food-dont you agree!?

I will give 5star for the interior/ambience and 3star for food.We had chicken biriyani,porotta and kozhy peralan from there.Compared to normal Azad restaurants,biriyani in azad star is not upto that level.porota is a normal one and kozhy peralan too is average on its quality and quantity.

Its a very good place with authentic food. Good ambience, good service and good tasty food with decent quantity. One star is less cause food did take some time after ordered and also the card machine was not working we had to go to the ATM and withdraw. Do enquire before you sit for a sumptious meal.

Me and my mother went to azad star on saturday evening at around 7.there was waiter ,an old dude,who was very rude to my mum.His attitude when my mom was giving the order was very poor and rude.he treated her as if tho she was a child,without any respect.then my mother got irritated and when she changed the tone of her voice,he sorta was taken aback and then changed his attitude.my mom ordered ceylon paratha and vanilla milkshake.she said the meat on one of the paratha was undercooked and that she felt something thick at the bottom of the glass as she was trying to finish the shake.that night she became sick.she thought this had somerhing to do with the waiter getting his revenge.idk...he has a shady and rude character.anyway my mom said she will never go there again.definitely done go there if theres no male in ur party or to accompany u.him and the other waiters sort of carry a patriotic vibe

Cozy and comfortable, great ambience. Excellent interior. Good place to hangout with your friends and family. The service takes time if the restaurant is packed with customers. Prizes are standard azad rates. The fried rice and noddles tastes a little burnt everytime, so i think thats there style. But tastes good. Very good service when the restaurant is not full, otherwise you might want to wait for about 20-35 minutes. But overall good, i would definitely go here. Oh, and definitely try the must try items mentioned in the menu.

Amazing food at a reasonable price

Went there due to the good reviews seen all over, but was truly disappointed due to the behaviour of the waiter we got. He was not at all interested in us buying any food. For different varieties of food we asked for he kept on giving lame excuses like preparation is going to take long. Same was the case for juices too. Due to all these reasons we were forced to buy just biriyani and normal lime.#disappointed

On reference of a co-diner, tried mutton Biryani, Kerala red chicken curry n parotta, found pretty ordinary in both quality n quantity. Cost is also on higher note. Im very fond of Kerala local cousine but even roadside food outlets serve better quality n quantity fresh authentic dishes. Sincerely we paid for the ambience only.
