On the bank of River Gandak,the exact location where the epic Gaj(Elephant)& Grah(Crocodile) yuddha (war) took place ,is HARIHARNATH TEMPLE.As the name depicts, HARI means VISHNU & HAR means MAHADEV SHANKAR ,this Temple is twin Gods Temple.Asia fame fair biggest mela is held during Kartik Purnima almost in the month of November every year.

Hariharnath temple is very good and big templeOf Sonpur. So many peoples from different places come to this temple to pray .

Recently visited the Harihar Nath Temple in Sonpur Bihar. You can see lord Vishnu and lore Shiva together. It was an awesome experience. It is 2 hour journey from Patna. The temple is less crowded in the morning..

Go for aarti around 06:00pm. Beautiful, clean, calm and non imposing. You will feel like home here.

I loved to visit this place. This is only temple in India among Hindu where Lord shiva & Lord vishnu form are located. A very famous & world largest trade of animal are here.This fair have need some government help for renovation of this fair and advertise about this fair at world level as well as India level. Earlier 100+ foreigners came to visited this fair. But today only 20+ foreigners come because of Government negligence.

Hariharnath temple is dedicated to Sanatan Dharmas Vaishnav and Shaiv sects together. Which is an unique thing in itself where carer of the world Hari (हरि) and destroyer Har (हर) is worshipped as one. Hari_har_nath the name itself is self descriptive. Temple went through renovation so part old part new. Temple has a police station. Common practice of mobbing the visitor or pilgrim isnt common here.
