I went there tonight with a party of 14 to celebrate a birthday. We were greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. Our server, Demetrius, introduced himself and took all of our orders. He was extremely attentive and we couldnt have had a better experience. The food was delicious and came out promptly. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Thank you for a wonderful night!
What an absolutely amazing experience. From the food to our server Demetrius. We will definitely go back without a doubt. From the appetizers and salads to the meals we were not disappointed at all.There were four of us My daughter-in-law got the vegan meatball sandwich I had the chicken sandwich My son had the cheesesteak and my husband had the double cheeseburger. We also had the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower as an appetizer. Amazing!
I have walked past 56 kitchen many times on my way to first watch but today first watch was slammed and 56 was just opening for lunch.I decided to stop in and try it with my toddler.Sometimes places want to give me the eye roll when I have my little guy but 56 was quick with a high chair and all the staff said hello to him which to me was so nice.The bartender Kelly, waited on us and she was all no nonsense, clearly been in the business awhile and néw what she was doing. I liked her immediately. Makes a good Bloody Mary too.The chef’s family came in but that didn’t mean they got there food before us. The chef made tickets in order with no favorites.Burger was cooked perfect and that 56 kitchen sauce on it was great!I met the new front of house manager Robert and he was so helpful and friendly when I stupidly spilled my drink. He described the food as gourmet bar food and I have to agree. My son and I both loved the fries. Excellent atmosphere and great service. We will be back.
Definitely one of the best place to eat in the Cleveland area. The drinks are fancy and really good. The ambiance and staff is awesome. Highly recommended !!
Absolutely LOVE this place EVERY time I go. The decor is no nice and I love when they open the front up so we can dine al fresco. The staff are the friendliest people and they work so hard! The food is fabulous...I recommend the Brussels sprouts basket, the artichoke app, the salmon dinner, the artichoke dip when its available. The salads are so fresh and I favor the French Kiss salad. The owner, Jay, is a gem! Perfect for a date or a family meal. JUST GO! Also, if you wrote a bad review from a long time ago, you need to go back. I went once a long time ago too and waited forever for a takeout order and the manager was just busy chatting on his phone the entire time, but that guy is long gone. Jay & his wonderful crew bend over backward to make sure everyone is happy. I only wish the bar were bigger and they stayed open later!

Nice newer place in Mayfield Hts. Our waiter/bartender was a nice guy ... we ordered drinks and he suggested a smoked drink hes been experimenting with. The drink was delicious! Like a smoky Manhattan with a lemon twist called a Creole. Food was tasty, atmosphere was friendly, nicely decorated, semi-casual and everyone was friendly.
Our server Demetrius was super polite and friendly. He called us by name which I really liked. The food was delicious and the service was fast. I will definitely be back.
We had our daughters rehearsal dinner at 56 kitchen in Mayfield Heights. The food was wonderful the staff was tremendous and Greg made the entire process so simple! We could not be happier
56 kitchen is fabulous, from the hostess who was very kind (a young girl with curly hair, I can’t remember her name), to our bartender, I think his name was Luke, who gave us a great experience and was very knowledgeable about the drink menu. The food was fabulous as well.

If you only get one thing at 56 Kitchen, get the hummus plate. SO GOOD. This place works well with people who have food allergies and sensitivities, which is hard to find in northeast Ohio. Frankie was great! Definitely will be back. Only missing a star due to the wait for taking orders / delivering checks. Seriously the hummus- will have dreams about it!

We found this place randomly and so glad we did. The service can’t be beat. Dimitri (hopefully I spelled that right) went above and beyond. He’s the friendliest server I’ve ever had. The food was very good as well. We will be back.
First time here since they changed the entire restaurant, first and foremost everyone there was friendly and warm welcoming, our server Gregory was really friendly and offered great suggestions, we got the hummus and mac n cheese as an appetizer and they were amazing, for entree we got the avocado salmon sandwich, so amazing salmon was perfectly cooked, also got the pork chops, it was the best pork chop I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Will definitely be back, the decorating in the restaurant was really cool as well, loved the artwork and lighting.

The open face salmon sandwich is delicious. I want to taste something else but when I call they ask do I want what I had before and I automatically say yes.
Amazing place to eat. Great food, really nice atmosphere, staff was super friendly and helpful. My server, Vincent, was probably one of the best servers Ive ever had. I also felt very safe eating there during COVID. I felt like the place was very clean and the staff were all wearing masks and the tables were layed out to accommodate social distancing.The next time Im up in the area, I would definitely go out of my way to eat here agian.
The staff was attentive and the bbq brisket pizza was delicious and should definitely be added to the regular menu.

Amazing, tasty food! We ordered a variety of dishes and pizzas and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so good! We used curbside pick up which is so convenient. Everything was packed with care. GREAT customer service as well.
I have been eating the Pewter Mug Salad since 1984 and so glad 56 Kitchen still makes it! Great place for a casual meal so check it out!

If youre looking for good, reasonably priced food with incredible drinks, this is the place. The service is always great, and the bartenders are amazing...tell them what you typically like and let them get creative for you! Atmosphere is laid back, and no matter what you order, the food is always good. Cannot say enough good things about this place.

Last night I had a gathering of friends and family for my daughters birthday. Everyone that came (25 people) enjoyed the food and atmosphere! From the walleye, to salads, braised beef, burgers, appetizers, pizza, non meat eaters, everyone was happy and impressed. Special thank you to the manager, Eric who made sure we were taken care of. Shout out to the waitstaff who were patient and kind!
Food and service was excellent
The food was very good and very nicely presented! Our waitress was very friendly and nice the bartender was not! The only real complaint i have though is the seating..the tables for two are way too close!! we had people on either side of us right next to us..the lady beside us was literally coughing the whole time ..we rushed out of there as quick as we could..you have to realize people want a little privacy when having lunch..none of us had any! spread those tables out we will not come back because of that .. maybe we will get carry out sometime!

Scratch kitchen and locally sourced items. Menu has many great options and the portions are perfect! Excellent customer service - the staff are friendly and fun. Love the decor with a nod to local history. If you missed having a Pewter Mug salad its on the menu complete with the bagel. They have a small private dining room well.
The inside was very nice. Good lighting. Not to dark. The service was very slow. Took over 5 minutes to get our drinks ( water and soda). The food was not good. It had no flavor. Our kids asked for cheese burgers and they did not put the cheese on the burgers. I asked for this to be corrected. The MANAGER bought out something that looked like cheese but not 100 % sure. Looked like melted nacho cheese. The server never cleared our dishes when we were done. The refills never happened. Now if the restaurant was busy I would over look this. But there were only 6 tables seated when we came in. I would not recommend this location to anyone. While I was leaving I tried to locate a manager and there wasnt one to be found. Good Luck to 56 Kitchen.

I gave them 1 star the 1st time you can see the comments below. The owner contacted me and totally made up for it. Had an awesome server(James) and the food was awesome!!! I will definitely be going back!!Not happy with the service at all!! It took about 1/2hr to take our order. A couple came in after us, the waitress sat them next to us and she took their order 1st. She did not check if we needed anything the entire time we were there. Not friendly at all!!$16 for a salad, will never go back again!!! If I could give them no stars I would!!
This place has some of the best food in Cleveland. They have the best service and management. Jay is the greatest.
I love the pub salad but I take out the cheese and ham and just ask for turkey. This is the 3rd or 4th time that I’ve ordered since you’ve reopened. I always ask if they can give me xtra turkey to replace the cheese and ham. Each time they don’t. I basically get a big bowl of lettuce with a handful of turkey for $12.00. I’m not a huge eater but it is not enough and would definitely not be enough for my husband so I just don’t order for him. I am tired of asking for extra turkey, complaining that the last time it wasn’t enough- it is embarrassing and they still don’t listen I also have never left a google review in my life esp not a negative one but as a business owner I would want to know if my business could do better and I certainly don’t want to lose good repeat customers.
Absolutely love the artsy industrial atmosphere. The food is great, fresh, flavorful with beautiful presentation. Met one of the owners Issy and had a great conversation. Definitely will be sharing this awesome place with family, friends, and patients. Cant wait for the patio to open. 🙂

I enjoyed a lunch here at this unexpectedly pleasant restaurant. I ordered a take home pizza (yum) and the brussel sprouts are fantastic! I am a vegetarian so was happy to find options on the menu. The owner, Izzy, was friendly and greeted us personally and chatted about how he uses all unprocessed products and built the restaurant using local materials such as the bleachers from the local high school! He also used local artists (which is awesome). My beet salad was just okay because it was adorned with a few very thin beets thrown on (4 thin slices) and the grilled shrimp I ordered on it were cold, rubbery and terrible-so stay away from that, thus the 4 stars. My friends meal she told me was outstanding.
The food quality is amazing. We started with a flat bread pizza as an app. Another time we had the mussels special which were equally well made. What a great creation, my compliments to the chef. My Philly Steak Sandwich was seasoned perfectly. I can not speak to the cocktails but the beer selection was unique and I was able to find an IPA I really enjoyed. Reasonable priced for the quality I hope they do well!

My boyfriend and I came in for our first time. We loved the environment and the music was fun and up beat. The food was so so good. Our servers name was Julie. She was in top of drinks and super quick and kind. One of our pizzas actually was messed up but she caught it before it reached the table and she handled it so well I was not even upset to wait the 5 minutes I did. I will be coming back here and now this will be mine and my boyfriends new spot to eat!
Had several apps including grilled Brussels sprouts that were outstanding. Ordered a pizza with housemade sausage and pepperoni and chili infused honey. How good? 7 stars!
We had a great experience! Great food and drinks, my Burger was fantastic with great fries. The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing. Tucked in an unsuspecting plaza you walk in to an amazing atmosphere of a larger than life lighting sculpture and art! We will absolutely be returning!

Mayfield Hts location I had a horrible experience by a horrible (new?) waitress on Wednesday, Feb 12,2020. I have been there many times and always happy with my food and service ..except this time.. I got a bad waitress that proceeded to be mean to me for asking for anything the entire time I was there. I willnever go back in fear that she still works there.Your food is too expensive to treat customersthis poorly.
Cafe 56 has been closed for renovations for quite some time now. Cant be sure if they are going to reopen.Finally, the old Cafe 56 has reopened as 56 kitchen. its a fine place with good food and upgraded decor. However, if you were expecting the salad selection of the old Cafe 56 you will be disappointed. They have less than 10 salads and they are not the exotic ones that the old Cafe 56 served

Great Atmosphere, Friendly Staff & the food is OK too!So the restaurant is great. although it is listed as one $ this is not a cheap restaurant and I believe it is a little bit pricy.The food is great but different dishes have different spices that you might not like so be careful while ordering, ask them what type of spices the dish might have.
Delicious as always. Had French Kiss salad added Salmon and honey mint vinaigrette, yumminess. Eric was a fantastic server! Oh so good.

Aside from the 15 minutes just to order food and the 25 to get the food, the Classico burger I had was amazing. I think they were a little short staffed when I went and the gentleman that was tending to my table got overwhelmed. Im sure the next time I go I wont be having that issue again... And I will return.

I have been going here since they opened. I love that they offer a wide variety of salads and dressings, and that they offer extra toppings as well. When they started to let us customize our salad, I was the happiest person in there. Where else can you get french fries on your salad and not have people look at you like you are crazy?! Their dressings are amazing. Salads are always fresh and clean. The salads all come with a salt bagel, which I really enjoy. The staff have always been friendly when I have been in there and the atmosphere is pleasant. I have never seen anyone unhappy in there.
Cafe 56 is undergoing a revamp, but when it was open the Drew Carey (off menu) was one of the best salads you can get in a pinch. When you just want something quick, its a great place to get any type of salad. Were looking forward to the new face of Cafe 56 once they reopen under a different banner.

Our work orders from Cafe 56 from time to time. Two out of five times they got my salad right. I feel the workers there pay little attention to what they are doing. Including once when they forgot both the dressing and the grilled chicken, leaving me with just a bunch of lettuce in a bowl.When I did obtain a salad from them, it was decent. Thus, they get two stars instead of one.

Weve ate at 56 kitchen many times and havent had a meal we didnt like. Service is wonderful food is delicious and never disappoints! Tonight I had the 56 sangria the best sangria Ive ever had!! If you havent been yet your missing out! Definitely the best addition to have in Mayfield! The owner Jay takes passion in their menu service and offering food you wont find in this area. The Love bird my favorite is a twist on a grilled chicken sandwich but taken to the next level on a toasted brioche bun with grilled brussel sprouts with a housemade sweet tomato jam is like no other sandwich youre had before! My husband had their original salad I know your thinking its a salad but it much more than that the creamy garlic vinaigrette makes you want more and makes this more than just a salad. If your looking for a new restaurant to try you wont be disappointed!
