Jumbo never fails to impress. First time here at this outlet and we’re back for their 50% off Alaskan king crab. Had it the first time at jumbo over at Ion outlet where we got the 2.8kg crab and it was good. presentation there was better. This time was 2.6kg and we had the salted egg & chili sauce. Somehow they don’t recommend chili sauce for Alaskan crab but must try! Ordered 15 mantous to soak up the sauce. Service good as usual.

The mee goreng and fried rice are highly recommended. Mee goreng had strong wok hei and fragrant of fried chives infused into the spicy, sweet noodle folded with egg omelette. The fried rice also has strong wok hei and nicely fried with crab meat and shredded omelette, enjoy every bite of fried rice with the umami ingredients chopped to rice size.

Definitely an amazing experience. First time trying crab and it was incredible. The bread was so tasty that I couldn’t stop eating it. If I ever go back to Singapore this is definitely a place I will return. I think everyone should have the experience of trying crab and Jumbo is the place to go. You can go to any location because all of them serve amazing food.

My first ever Alaskan king crab in my life and i must say its soooooo good! My gf and I came here for the normal mud crabs but were encouraged to get the alaskan one due to a 50% discount. After doing our math, its like $100 for a 1kg mud crab VS $140 for a 1.1kg Alaskan one (btw...this is only half the crab). And its one of the best decision i paid for.We got the black pepper crab. Meat was tender, sweet and gigantic chunk of crab meat! Its so good that i have it 2 weeks later at Jumbo Dempsey. If the discount is still on, please get it while stocks last. (As i am writing this on 14th Sep, we were told their crabs were sold out and had to make do with Red House Alaskan crab promotion instead. 3 of us went there and all felt it was pretty bad). You wont regret trying it at Jumbo!

Absolutely delightful experience with my family for the Chinese New Year celebration. A belated celebration but served with the best yu sheng I’ve had for a long time. Certainly happy to be treated to a quiet and wonderful time at the riverwalk outlet. Many thanks to the polite and attentive staff who were attending to us the whole night, and we are grateful for the opportunity to some quiet family time and indulging in some of the best food available. The chilli crab (although not cheap at 9.80 per gram) in particular was worth a shout out for the sweet flesh and delightful chilli sauce. Will certainly come back for another visit.

In one word this place is BUSY. Wait staff were very nice and helpful. Dishes arrived in a timely manner. Live prawns and oatmeal prawns were excellent as was the chilli crab. Salted egg yolk crab was not up to par. Scallops also excellent as were the vegetables. Wasnt a big fan of the dragon fruit salad but that may just be me. Did it live up to the hype? I guess I wasnt disappointed but it was far from spectacular as promised. Definitely recommend going at least once. Bookings recommended.

For new travelers to Singapore that want to try one of Singapore signature dish - chili crab/pepper crab go to Jumbos. There are many places that do chili crab but without a local guide its impossible to know where is good. Jumbo is a good starting point. The crab is always consistent and fresh and taste amazing. Just a warning though, book ahead! It is consistently full and walk ins might not get a table straight away. There are many Jumbo restaurant around Singapore so finding one near by is not hard.Definitely recommend getting the fried Buns to mop up the chilli Sauce!

As a first-time visitor to Singapore, I found the seafood here quite tasty and fresh. However, the chili crab was a bit on the pricey side for the size of the crab. The cod, however, is one of the best fish plates Ive ever tried. I recommend eating inside the restaurant on a hot summer day. The location of the restaurant is conveniently located along the river.

Location is prefect and one of best seafood restaurants. The signature dishes is of course the crab. You can choose 3 kinds of crab and 5 different ways of cooking. I ordered mug crab in black pepper. The weight of crab was mostly standarized and the portion was enough for 2. Taste of crab was impressive as crab was fresh. I also ordered shrimps in salty egg. Again prefect too in taste. You can order in different portions (small, medium and large) up to the no. of people to be served and how much love you had on this dish. Overall experience is promising and will not ask you be disappointed.

I enjoyed all the dishes especially the herbal big fresh prawn soup, coffee pork ribs, fried chicken, the chili crab matou was good but their best top dishes was the black pepper crab and the best ending was the mango sago dessert i was so full but finished all the dessert it was that good. Disappointments was the fly in our vip room it was ruining the meal ambience and felt a bit concern on hygiene and the mee goreng was a dish I skipped. Not worth. I love the cereal prawn, chilli crab, oyster sauce kailan and dessert yam paste, amidst all the other food we ordered. Food quality and freshness is great. However, the environment is cluttered and noisy (despite us being in the VIP room where we had one table and the other table was occupied). The service crew never wore a smile, in fact none of them. I only saw them talking to each other and not being attentive to customers calling out to them. Great food. For 4 people, 2 crabs and one small to medium size fried rice is enough. Remember to get the fried mantou to dip in ththe hili sauce. We had the chili sauce and the salted egg crabs (both of which use mud crabs). The salted egg crabs is breaded and fried in a dry sauce so not as good as the chili crab. Bill came out to almost $200 Singapore dollars. They give you a big bib and gloves for each hand as well as a finger bowl. Do note that last kitchen order is at 2:15 and restaurant closes at 3pm so make sure to get there before 2pm.

We had a short stop in Singapore so we decided to go for the famous Jumbo chilli crabs that we had heard so much about. When we reached the restaurant, it was around 4:30pm. We were informed that they would open at 5:00pm. In the meantime, we were given a reservation for 5-6:15 pm. There was already a huge crowd with reservations, waiting for the restaurant to open. There were cookies and infused water available for guests to make the hot and humid wait more comfortable which was cool! At 5:00pm we were promptly attended to by a server who seated us at our table. The spacious restaurant with both outdoor and indoor seating option was full within the first 15 minutes. We selected their signature dish-the famous Chilli Crabs. We also ordered some fried rice, broccoli and some drinks. They gave us:-a set of tools including a crab cracker-finger bowl-complimentary peanuts with sauce on the side-a crab bibWithin no time our food was ready and we were excited to indulge. The pepper crab was a huge dish with a lot of gravy. The vibrant color was amazing and even better was the aroma. Without delay we dug into the yummiest pepper crabs we had tried so far. Fresh, flavorful and delicious-we enjoyed every bit of it. After a while I got a little impatient with the tools so decided to use my hands. We were offered wet towels throughout the meal which was perfect to clean the unavoidable. Disposable gloves would have been helpful but I thought of it only after we had finished! The other stuff we ordered was good too, but the pepper crab was definitely the best! Although the price range was slightly on the expensive side, it was worth it for a transit stop. We cannot wait to visit their restaurant again on our next vacation!

Jumbo Seafood was not part of our plan initially because we wanted to try Hai Di Lao Hotpot in Somerset 313, but the waiting list was takingforever. Colin suggested to eat seafood instead and drove us to The Riverwalk. We arrived in front of Jumbo Seafood Gallery, a Chinese restaurant overlooking the river. We were famished as it was way past dinner time and we spent a lot of energy walking at Gardens by The Bay earlier. Ill let Colin order as hes a regular at this restaurant.◾ Crispy fried baby squid - deep fried until crispy and crunchy before being tossed in sweet & savoury oyster sauce blend, and then sprinkled with sesame seeds. Perfect appetisers.◾ Donut fritters with seafood paste - the fritters are stuffed with cuttlefish paste and coated with fragrant sesame seeds before deep fried to golden crisp texture. Served with sweet peanut shrimp sauce, even the kids fought to eat the last piece with us.◾ Crispy fried seafood beancurd - this is Colins favourite and rightly so... The softness of the beancurd coupled with the texture of seafood took this dish to another level. I found joy eating this◾ Signature black pepper crab - instead of going for the chilly crab, we opted for this and there was no regret at all. The crab was coated entirely with the fragrant black pepper sauce which was not overpowering the sweetness of the crab flesh itself.◾ Hong Kong style noodle with seafood - it was very easy to satisfy the daughters as noodle would definitely work wonders! Fresh seafood with the eggy sauce coating the crispy noodle.Maybe we were too hungry earlier so everything tasted heavenly. But according to Colin, this place is one of the to-go restaurants for amazing seafood dishes, particularly crab - think the famous Chilly Crab made popular by this republic.

All as expected. Definitely go back. We’d been to the other one in Clarke Quey, which had terrible service, but the food was good so decided to give the sister location a try.Everyone was very friendly and professional. The only real complaint is that they literally give you a time deadline (displayed on a card on your table) by which time you need to vacate the table for the next reservation. Reckon this is required because the place is so busy.I had the scallops and broccoli - FANTASTIC! Everyone else had the Chili Crab and seafood fried rice, and all thumbs up!We didn’t know, so had the regular crab, but you can also order the Chili Crab with King Crab. A lot bigger, but from experience, not as flavorful as the smaller cousins.Overall a wonderful experience.

Very busy place. Had booked a table for 8 on a Sunday. Almost other places were booked out or too far from city. We wanted to try the chilli crab and ordered 2 , about 800gms each priced at $80kg, spicy cod, drunken prawns, kai lang, scallops and fried rice. All the dishes came out at different times and it made the dinner a bit different. Mainly the fried rice, which came out near the end of the night when I would have thought itd been ideal to come out with the kai lang, cod and crab. The chilli crab portion looked very small as it came out in one dish. It was just enough to feed the 8 of us but could have done with 1 more on top. The flavour is somewhat spicy and wasnt anything spectacular. The buns did a good job at soaking up the sauce though! The drunken prawns has an earthy taste to the soup(herbal taste) and the prawns were done just right. Scallops were overpowered by the yam for my taste. The spicy cod was delicious. So good that I wished I ate that first as it disappeared quickly and when we tried to order another it was sold out.The service was attentive, tea gets poured and plates are constantly changed. Oh something to remember is that between 8 of us we shared 2 claw crackers. The hype over Singaporean chilli crab is fading. I find it a must-try-once-dish-if-ever-in-the-country but I wouldnt be back regularly to have it. There are many many other places to have this dish, some fancy and some casual like Jumbos.Give it a crack.

Foods good, needless to say, otherwise I wouldnt have rated them 5 stars, so lets start with the food. We ordered the chilli mud crab ($88 per kg before gst and what not), mantou (fried buns), cereal fried prawns and salted egg fish skin (appetizers). One minor annoyance, the salted egg fish skin came after the cereal prawns and chilli crab / mantou. First World problems, I know. Other than that, the crab was fresh, and one crab was about 1++ kg, feeds two. The prawns were fresh and juicy, and the salted egg fish skin was freshly made, not the premade stuff. So overall, food was damn good (even if a little bit too much for a fat man and a petite lady). But the service was what took it over the top. They used cloth bags to cover our bags against splatter, and even gave us zip lock for our phones (I only used it to take photos for this review). They had bibs and plastic gloves too, but we didnt use that. Our server was also attentive, refilling our glasses any time it was low, and refreshing our plates with new ones (loads of egg shells). Quite a good experience, overall. I would like to commend Ms Yook Foon (since Jumbos website is apparently not accepting compliments, or any feedback) on her great service and friendly attitude. Will I go back again? Definitely, though, at about $160-170 for two, its not a weekly occurance. Or even a monthly one.
