Great little restaurant serving Taiwanese food. The food was really well done and authentic. Beef noodles were delicious with nice soft and tender beef pieces. Popcorn chicken was crispy and perfectly done. Pancake was soft and flaky was a good amount of filling. These dishes remained me of my time in Taiwan. Definitely will visit again.

I ordered the beef Taiwan noodles, the pork soup dumplings and hot bubble tea (Red Tea). The bubble tea is SO GOOD! Couldnt get enough of it :)However, the noodles were okay. Wasnt too wow but not bad if u have cravings for beef noodles. The soup dumplings were kind of disappointing... I expected a more flavourful combination and overpriced at $8-9?Nonetheless, not a bad place to dine if u are craving for some simple Chinese food. I recommend you get the voucher via Shopback since 2 pax can already spend up to $40 !

Tried this restaurant recently to try satisfy some Taiwanese food craving that I had. I ordered a hong Shao beef noodle and a lurou fan to try and a red tea boba milk tea. The service was really quick but also cos there were not many customers around. The decor was quite cute, with a cow motif everywhere. The beef noodles was pretty good, with generous serving of tender beef and tendon. The noodles were thick and slightly chewy and the soup was richly flavoured with the the beef stock. Slightly peppery though. The lurou fan was not as amazing unfortunately. The braised egg was dry and meat was quite ordinary. The milk tea has a unique texture though and quite different from the ones sold at bubble tea stores. So I guess you can stick with the noodles if you are visiting :)

Was here for lunch before Singapore announced Phase 2 Heightened Alert. Service was prompt and staff was conscious of safe management measures, providing assurance that this was a safe place to dine in.Food-wise, the beef soup noodles was thoroughly enjoyable and filling. Also pleasantly surprised by the promotion of a free drink with order of a side dish. The ice milk tea with pearls was not too sweet and to my liking. Will return, hopefully to dine in when situation allows.

At this price point,Claypot beef - hot on the surface but cold on the inside. We asked for chilli to help with the flavor and the reply was simply No. As we are making payment and leaving, we noticed that chili flakes are available.Service can definitely be improved. Most of the staff are nice and helpful except for one who is curt and rude. Maybe she is having a bad day but the restaurant is not busy at all that day.

Casual place to have some good Taiwanese food. Quick service and good food. I had the signature beef noodle while my friend had the braised pork rice. We also ordered the Cong Jua Bing 蔥抓餅(literally spring onion grab biscuit) to share. This place also serves good bubble tea. My friend had the red milk tea while I had the green tea.

First of all, never go to Lai Lai on your own because there are so many enticing items on the menu that you’d wish you could share many dishes with a big group of friends. Especially during the 2020 pandemic while we are grounded, Taiwan comes to us when we can’t get to Taiwan. The beef noodle soup was my best choice as the broth was rich and nicely spiced; the thick udon-like noodles were pleasantly textured and the extra tendons (+$1/$2) played their part in a perfect orchestra of tender beef, savoury broth and spongy noodles topped with a scoop of pickled cabbage. The braised pork rice is a Taiwanese staple however we felt that the flavour was lacking and the dish on a whole was unspectacular and not unforgettable. A side of chilled boneless pork leg/knuckle was very appetizing served with a concoction of chilli flakes and black vinegar. The fried eggplant with pork floss was love at first taste coming from the umami of the floss but so much (MUCH) oil oozed out from the eggplant that the dish was a tad ruined. The fried oyster mushroom would not be a repeat guest appearance as it was 85% thick batter and 15% mushroom. All in all, Lai Lai serves as a faint reminder of what we could have had enjoyed for real in Taiwan if not for the pandemic but stick to the beef noodles and you’ll enjoy a good soul-warming pampering.

Casual dining as the name suggests and went for the special set which came with braised pork rice and intestine mee sua. Love the crispy onion chilli that came with it. There is bubble tea as part of set meal, it’s okay. All in about $15 for the set (after service charge and GST). Will be back to try the beef noodles next time.

Menu can be a little confusing, but the staffs helpfulness made up for it. Food is alright, they have a different daily item that is 50% off (Ours was fried brinjal with pork floss, at $3.40). Set meal comes with Bubble Milk tea that is customisable - no pearls, less sweet, etc.

Taiwanese would cry over the dishes…beef egg rice had nothing special but with much starch; mutton skewers were deep fried instead of grilled/bbq; the free bubble milk tea was with the taste of cheapo creamer, didn’t touch after a sip.

Updated 30 Nov 2019:Dined for dinner on a Sat approx at 20:12.Menu has changed with some dishes being the same. No more set meal. Prices are definitely marked up.Dry beef noodle doesnt taste as good. Noodle is plain. (Something I will not order again). Milk tea maintained its taste.3 months ago: Have eaten many times since years ago, when they had an outlet at Jurong point and few other times here. Had not visited for months and had lunch today.Ordered dry beef noodle + milk tea with bubbles. Should not have added the pig intestine side dish. Now it tastes rough and tasteless vs eaten few months ago. Noodle and milk tea has maintained their taste.

The broth for the beef is flavourful, spicy enough for the general public. Serving of beef was generous and I ended up damn full as my wife could not finish her share. Food is still good. However the service rendered by one of the staff is less than desirable. The younger service staff are prompt and polite. However, there is one older lady in her late 30s/ early 40s who could have provided better service.During our order, we asked her about an item. But response was curt and almost non existent. I just wanted to confirm the item. When clearing the plates, the younger staff would ask in a nice way whether it could be cleared. However the older lady just abruptly took the tray of food without double checking. For family of four, we were given 2 pieces of serviette by the same older lady.. I was initially quite cold about it but the nonchalant attitude of the older lady kept adding up.Maybe she is having a bad day but please do not impose it on the customers. Paid for the $48.95 meal ans realised the older lady is the one in charge of the cashier.

Finally found a time to travel all the way to satisfy the taste buds since all other branches has closed down for quite some time. Beef noodles and meesua still tastes the same, brinjal with floss is expensive without half price, a tad too oily. Tried the deep fried mushroom too since its half priced on Mondays and found them a tad too oily... Wont be coming as often since price wise is no longer competitive with 10% +7% charges. Hoping franchise to expand with nett price again. Chose the bubble tea and mango juice which was served in the same portion as usual and portion wise is considered expensive with the additional charges. Bubble teas portion is smaller compared to previous servings. Will patronize again only if I have serious craving for beef noodles. Portion for food wise is not a lot as well so was a bit disappointed as price was not justified. Service wise was OK though. Total cost around $44.

My 1st visit to this place by chance because my daughter wants noodle soup for lunch. Their kid meals offer is decent. The lady in her late 30s/40s is very rude and not customer oriented. Her tone and the way she handled my seating and booking were unprofessional. The food here is really good. From the exterior it looks like a typical Taiwanese fast food joint but I have the say the food was amazing, usually the kind you’d associate with in some dark lit coffee shop that serves 5 star food tucked away in a small alley. Must tries are the beef noodles and beef stew with rice. The Lu rou fan is arguably one of the better ones in SG I have ever tasted.
