Love the food and service here. One of my favourite places to go! The kimchi soup is my absolute favourite. Authentic Korean food!
Situated near to Kim’s Korean which is significantly bigger and clearly doing better. Walked into an empty restaurant at lunch time. No one attended to us. Had to go to counter to ask for a menu. Kim Chi dishes are good. Hot plate ok. Not too bad for a casual meal but nothing amazing.
Aug 2020. Our first decent Korean food since our Dec vacation to Korea. We over ordered for a table of 4. We had got hot plate Saba, bibimpak, fried Chicken, hot plate beef and seafood in glass noodle.I was not sure if a Korean chef prepared the dishes, they were close to Korean authenticity in my opinion.
Came across this Korean restaurant few days ago while we were having dinner at Reverly. We decided to came back yesterday, it’s a medium size restaurant with basement seating as well. But when they are busy, the diners at Basement will likely be neglected so we choose to sit on the 1st floor instead when seats are available. The kimchi soap is really nice. Hot and not so spicy, just nice for our taste. Highly recommended and good for the current cold weather.
Like the cozy ambiance. The portions are big enough. And price is reasonable. Ordered one pancake and 2 noodles. $44. Had to pack the pancake because we cant finish
Managed to get a seat on Monday night walk in. Ordered a seafood green onion pancake and ginseng chicken soup to share for 2 pax. My friend doesnt eat spicy hence, the choice of food. But who says Korean food needs to be spicy to be nice? Enjoyed the very tonic chicken soup for the soul. Of cos I would prefer a kimchi pancake but the non spicy one works fine too.
Ordered Cold Noodles, Ginseng Chicken and Teppanyaki chicken. Meal for 3.Wowww, really loved the Cold Noodles, dont forget to add Mustard and Vinegar (must order from staff, doesnt come with it)😋, Tasty!!Singapore Ginseng Chicken doesnt come with Ginseng wine, 可惜啊(⊙o⊙)pity。Teppanyaki chicken is too sweet for my taste bud, but not too bad.We had kimchi and Anchovies for the top up.
Weve been here twice and enjoyed the BBQ beef set on both visits. The staff are obliging, although they did get quite flustered on our second visit (the day before the no-dine in rule kicked, so it was understandably super crowded). The sides are decent - I like the kimchi.I cant wait to try the seafood pancake when it reopens for dine-in.
First time here and I ordered most of the non spicy food as my friend have a sore throat. So I can only rate base on the not so traditional Korean food with spiciness. Ordered beef bulgogi which is quite tasty. Grilled Saba fish was yummy as fish still moist and not dry with basil deception of no dipping sauce like sesame soil with salt would be perfect. Order Korean ginseng chicken which is quite bland with again no dipping salt provided. Ordered chicken bulgogi and kimchi ramen, both are quite tasty but the serving portion kind of large.. be careful and consider sharing. I would come back for their bbq, pancake and fried chicken next time seems to be their specialty. Service is attentive but too few staffs to run around. Also be prepared to have challenges in communication.
Despite making a reservation, they didn’t seems to take note and we were asked to seat at the basement like the rest of the walk-in. The “disco” lights at the basement just make your head spin as you dine, simply unpleasant. As for the food,The soy garlic chicken with bones ($17)There’s either no garlic to the soy or no soy to the garlic. Just one bite and there goes all my cravings. The seafood kimchi pancake ($16)There’s no taste of kimchi with some small prawn and super oily. Saving grace.. it came hot so the oiliness was not so gross. Not sure if my disappointment was due to dine at the basement or the slow service or the food quality or I should have just choose OFC around the corner. Not sure about other dishes but how can fried chicken and pancake go wrong. Finally, for safety reason, the owner may want to remove the boxes and boxes of stuff at the staircase to the basement.
The place is consider small, not enough waiter/waitress.Only 2 staffs during dinner peak hour, we have to wait or request for side dishes and food serve as they are too busy. The food is quite slow, but taste wise is good. The side dishes having quite a lot of choices and is yummy.Does not have the hood for bbq.
Delicious! My favourite place for fried chicken. A Small fried chicken order = 8 pieces. Garlic soy and yumyum is my no. 1 delivery order haha! The kimchi noodle is really nice too. The noodle is soft and nice. The sauce is okay. Still not like what you can find in Korea, but definitely yummy nonetheless. Also, they are sooo generous with their banchan (side dishes)
Loved the kimchi pancake here. Just a little too bad that there are stairs leading to the entrance, being on wheelchair makes it almost impossible for me to purchase food from this restaurant. Fortunately I had a friend with me to help pick up my order.
To be fair, I like cheese. A lot of it. The more the better. This restaurant has a variety of selection with cheese which I appreciate. However, the food is quite average.service is decent considering the staff limited English proficiency. Still a decent family dinner place, the kind where you feel hungry and have no where else to go. I guess.
Tried the fried chicken and jajiangmeyon and pancake. I thought the noodles and pancake was ok but nothing fantastic that willl make me crave for them. But the boneless garlic chicken was da bomb. The chicken is so juicy and crispy it feels absolutely heavenly. One bite and itll make your worries go away! Definitely will be back for the chicken.
A traditional authentic Korean restaurant with good quality BBQ. This is a small restaurant, stuck in a side street off Bukit Timah. Tried the kimchi pancake and it was crispy and delicious. The BBQ with pork and beef come in a portion that is for 2 persons but could easily feed 3. Plus lots of side dishes, which you could ask for refilled. Served with nice cold roasted barley tea. A hearty meal.
Authentic Korean restaurant with a decent spread of food. Their kimchi soup is awesome and it won’t disappoint. Have been eating here for the last few years and will definitely recommend this place!
A very authentic and homely korean food place, with one of the nicer fried chickens which Ive tasted! The 3 of us ordered 2 platters of chicken, an original fried chicken and another soy sauce w cheese. The large platter (bone in) costs $29 (original) and $35 (soy). For the soy you could also ask for spicy (which we did) or non-spicy!The original chicken was juicy and tender, with a very crispy batter. The dipping sauce was sweet (and I think) with a hint of garlic?Spicy soy with cheese was sweet, salty, and umami with the dynamic play of cheese. Chicken was again tender and juicy, however soaked in sauce so no longer crispy.Overall, good vibes and defo would come back again!
Normal taste. Soup a bit watery. Service is very good though, waiter is polite
Highly recommend to korean food lover. Very home cook food. Lady boss is very friendly & staffs are helpful.
Food is good and price is reasonable. However interior decor is a bit outdated and under maintenance. But the service is fast and friendly so overall dining experience is still good.
We ordered the hot plate squid, jajangmyeon and original boneless fried chicken. The squid and jajangmyeon were good, but unfortunately, I cant say the same for the fried chicken, which my husband and I had high hopes for, seeing that it featured prominently on the menu. The chicken was really greasy and left a thick film of oil even on the oil blotter paper. This is not characteristic of a proper Korean fried chicken, which is supposed to be crispy and yet not as oily as its other counterparts. Sad to say that this chicken was also tasteless and it felt as if we were just eating frozen chicken fried haphazardly. We had around 3 pieces of it and didnt eat the rest as it was just no good.We will probably be back to try the rest of the dishes, but definitely no more KFC for us from this restaurant.
Really enjoy the side dishes and I would say all of them are great! Ginseng chicken soup tasted slightly bland. The Army stew tasted just right and Ill probably come back when I need some comfort food. The fried chicken could be better and there was a mixed up with our order and that wasnt too pleasant. On the whole, will recommend this place to people who like Korean food with a homely feel. Especially with all the Korean service staff.
Service is average, often need to wait for super long time for your dishes. Dishes are quite expensive, nothing beyong expectation.
Average. The food actually taste quite meh. They have cheese in almost every dish. As a cheese lover, I feel that this is way overboard.Im craving Korean food Id rather go to the Kim Korean BBQ few doors down.
Portions have shrunk a lot. Theyve cut back on the ingredients as well. Even the size of the side dishes shrunk. Fried chicken lacked seasoning and sauce and the portion was tiny. The pork came with such little sauce that it was bland. Very disappointed as they used to be much better. No discount even when you take away. Long waiting time
Don’t ever come to this place! Very bad service! Food overcooked and yet don’t accept our feedback! The boss kept insisted that it’s the way it cook! Hello! I’m not the first time eating Korean food!!! Lousy service!
Chance upon this restaurant since Im craving for korean cuisine but Im utterly disappointed with the food here.Chicken on a hot ironplate, kimchi & seafood pancake came first, both tasteless, soybean paste soup is just average. Last, the steamegg (not in the menu but you can still order from the staff), I cannot be more speechless when even this dish can go wrong. It was also tasteless. Making my friend and I doubt if the chef is not well today, a change of chef or this was the standard of food in this restaurant because they does hav a decent crowd on a Monday. Feel free to try. Hopefully you will get a more tasteful dishes compare to us.
Army stew & kimchi pancake are my favourite
Very authentic korean cuisine
Its decent to say the least, went here for the second time and i wouldnt say im disappointed nor impressed, just not that outstanding. Ordered the cheesy chicken and seafood pancake, both were ok, but not too superb. Their sides are also not bad, love the potatoes, ikan bilis and kimchi even though i cant take spicy food. The first time i went thr we opted for bbq but it was disappointing, so this time we went ala carte and it was ok. Might or might not return, since the price is quite high. 2 pax was $43, so 1 person around $21, might as well eat buffet.
Pricey and food was satisfactory. Sea food pan cake was too floury and not properly fried at the bottom. Best part of the meal was their Kim chi.
Quite popular, lucky we went there earlier and no queue around 6pm. 15 min afterward, queue formed and long wait.Food wise, we ordered the cheesy fried chicken, but not too great to our liking. We had the kimchi soup also, which was not bad at all. Can try this if you visit this restaurant.
One of the best sundubu jjigae you can find in Singapore! Other dishes are pretty average.
Consistent Korean cuisine ... Never disappointed. Korean soy chicken, Korean pancake, pork bulgogi and bimbimbap are my faves.
We were waiting and then there were five people behind us but still they got the seats because there was a table for five, and we only have three people. Maybe some people think that is fair but I am still very confused and the officer didnt even explain only until I asked. But the food is good, kimchi soup and the yamyam chicken! They also provide side dishes and free refilled! Nice! So maybe if you come on a weekday, the device might be better!
What can I say except YUM! 🥰😛 Waiters/Waitresses may be a little busy and take some time to get to you but food comes quickly and is delicious! Definitely a must-go for Korean food! Reserve beforehand or youll need to wait!
Food was decent but need wait for quite a bit during dinner time. Taste was authentic.
Good Korean fried chicken! Ban Chan are good too!
Food is ok but service is really slow. Took over 30m for banchan to arrive, and nearly an hour for Jjajjangmyeon to be served.
Made a reservation and ended up sitting in the basement. It was really like a storeroom with tables, or a made-shift karaoke room with bits and pieces of things stored. Because of our seating, it was difficult to get attention from the staff unless they came downstairs.Food was very average compared to other Korean restaurants, and very super stingy with the banchan ( side dishes). Had to make repeated requests for top-ups and refills, the reply was 1 serving per table even though there were 5 pax . In the end, gave up on this request and couldnt wait to leave the restaurant.
Horrendous service attitude by the male staff who seemed to take charge of overall management. Our BBQ meat was left unattended, and it turned out all charred. Guess what he unapologetically told us? Can you see that were all very busy? Dont expect us to focus only on your table. You can scrap off the charred ones. WOW.👎👎
Had BBQ mixed meats, pan cakes and seafood instant noodles. The noodles was the best.
Still, my favour korean restuarant. I thought Woorinara served the best beef Japchae I ever tried so far. However, my korea lover friend told me that the Jajangmyeon served in Woorinara wasnt close to the authentic one. That was quite sad thou. Hope they will review on their Jajangmyeon recipe and make it taste as close to the original one.But still enjoy patronizing Woorinara.
I ordered BBQ set and honey fried chicken. Well prepared and I loved taste! highly recommended and worth of money!
Ordered food just today for a 8 pm pick up this evening. When we got there 10 min early, they said they haven’t seen the order. And we had to wait 25 min. No apology nothing. We came back at 815 pm. Food still not done. Ridiculous.
Not fit to be a KBBQ restaurant. Thrown into a tiny basement that had no ventilation. Then turned on a physical STANDING FAN and OPENED THE DOOR LEADING TO A BASEMENT CARPARK. Ended up eating hurriedly and leaving as the smoke was unbearable. I’d ask for a refund but seeing how the restaurant is run I wouldn’t rate my chances. Infrastructure is way to poor to be a passable restaurant. Skip.
Yummy food. Lotsa ingredients. Big servings. Not expensive. Will come back for more!
I love Korean pancake, their pancake is nice and crispy but a little oily
Nice place to chill
Friendly Staff and food is good. i dont often go to koreaN restaurant bt for ordered dishes serve almost at same time, its a plus point. i just wish less msg...or mayb my taste buds. overall, consiDer to return :)
Above average korean food. Customers gets lots of assistance from staff when barbequing meat on the dining table so chances of eating burnt meat is low, which is a plus.
Nice.. hope to see new item.
Sad to say that the lady who might be the owner was very unfriendly.
Used to be fav Korean restaurant but now deeply disappointed.Arrived at 615pm. Had to wait until 7 for the appetiser and the soup to arrive. Waited some more until 730pm for the BBQ to come even though we only ordered one set. The service quality has dropped after reopening in phase 2. Lack of communication and coordination resulting in delays. Worst is the pork is hard and dry, the BBQ was too strong causing the whole basement to be filled with smoke. The spicy tofu soup is still good though.
Food was just okay but the general ambience of the restaurant was good.
I as a customer would really recommend this place, because firstly, the food here is amazing! You should definitely try the fried soy sauced chicken here! Not only the food that is amazing, but what surprised me was the karaoke, it is really rare to have a karaoke in basement 1 of the restaurant as I have never seen that in Singapore before! This is not the normal kind of korean restaurant as the food is good, the staff here is kind! I would really recommend this place you should come and visit!
Ordered bbq set and fried chicken. Loved taste and worth of money. Will order it again.
Delightful Korean cuisine tucked away at the back behind the main road, taking about a 7-9 minute walk from Beauty World MRT. If you order BBQ and the shop is not too busy, the staff will actually help you cook the food. Soybean paste and kimchi soup are piping hot and tasty.
Love to eat at this family Korean restaurant. Always friendly and efficient. One of the better Korean ginseng chicken in Singapore and many other authentic Korean dishes.
Great place for food. The chicken wings, the spicy pork belly, and the pancakes are delicious. Highly recommended
Just ordered via GRAB. The worst pancake I ever tasted. Almost like eating rubber. Ordered the fried chicken as well. Only a handful of pieces for the money we paid. Totally not worth it.
