Visited this place on Saturday for dinner. Ordered the BBQ sets (pork belly and marinated chicken slices), stir-fried rice cakes, and skewer fishcake soup. Food portions were also big.The skewer fishcake soup tasted almost similar to the ones I had in Korea, except that the fishcake here was less chewy. The BBQ sets were good, but I prefer the pork belly slices. The stir-fried rice cakes were not so good - very hard and the sauce was thick but overly sweet.I guess I would only visit this place again if Im nearby and have craving for Korean food.

Tried their ginseng chicken set lunch, ordered BBQ pork and beef, seafood pancake. The ginseng chicken honestly dont taste anything like ginseng chicken, ginseng taste and sweetness is nothing like the other Korean restaurants. The pork collar we ordered was tasteless and in thick, chunky pieces, with fats and meat that were too hard to chew and enjoy. The beef was ok. Seafood pancake was not tasty. Overall quite a disappointment.

I still cannot stop thinking about their tteokbokki months later...the best Ive ever had and I am a tteokbokki afficionado. The sauce had a wonderful depth of flavour that made all others seem bland in comparison. The beef bibimbap was very good, as well. The prices are, in my opinion, justified by the generous portions and the quality. Also, very friendly service for a take-away situation during lockdown!

Quite decent Korean restaurant - a bit on the pricey side if you are looking for lunch-time food during office hours; but they do have some lunch sets.Honestly, their ala carte menu is way better in flavor than their lunch set. I recommend their BBQ ribs - the Kim chi is quite delicious. You get a whole set of side dishes when you order ala carte (smaller if lunch set) so before going overboard with ordering other stuff, consider the side dish being sufficientRecommended for casual lunch settings

The restaurant is crowded during lunch hour, so I highly suggest beating the crowd and reaching there a tad earlier.Food: I’ve tried several sets, including the stews (e.g kimchi jiggae) and rice-based bowls (e.g bimbimbap). The food tastes nice, but there are minor things that stand out — the pork belly slices are quite thin, and a little too fat for my liking. Kimchi falls on the sour side, and the taste is a little flat.Portion sizes are decent; you won’t go hungry after.Service: Not bad but not exceptional.

Finally attempted this place after hearing so much about it. The legendary Korean restaurant albeit the original one at Amara Hotel that people have been talking about over the years.First impression was that the menu is somewhat limited and does not offer a great variety of food and beverage. Secondly prices are slightly on the high side. Thirdly, there’s no such thing as free refill for side dishes! It cost SGD1 per refill per item!Food quality is average. The kimchi stew was edible but lacked the punch and umami-ness. There’s the lack of the kimchi-taste follow through and scent. The samgetang (ginseng chicken) was tasteless - where’s the taste of ginseng? The glutinous rice was so minuscule too. This is one dish without rice given that there’s glutinous rice but alas one would definitely not survive on that smallish quantity. The chicken was tough, not tender which it should have been after being cooked for hours. In any case, overall it’s hard for me to recommend this place at all.

Have been going to their Amara hotel branch for lunch occasionally in the past with colleagues, and always felt a homely sensation there. Decided to try out their new branch here, and contrary to other reviews, felt that the service was good. Was allowed to choose a seat we wanted, they politely answered questions during order and even though our drinks didn’t come, after asking for it, the female server apologized and quickly brought us the items.I had the ramen with meat topup +$3 (granted - could have been slightly cheaper as $12.90 for a meatless instant noodles is not enticing). The whole set came with some sides (not bad and not the usual ones expected). The cheap add ons are good though. The fried dumplings were juicy and delicious. Ramen soup was spicy enough and not msg laden.Seatings are spacious and there’s plenty of options to choose from the menu.

I don’t really complain but this is my first time patrol this restaurant. We have 4 pax and only 2 have arrived but was refrained from entering the restaurant cause there was a time limit of 60mins to dine. If this is a buffet menu, it is understandable but it’s ala carte. Is this the standard a restaurant should provide? I am famishing and I can’t order while awaiting for the remaining to arrive. Why there isn’t a website to feedback, afraid people will complain?

Extremely disappointed! We came here for dinner with very little expectation knowing that this place is in a shopping mall, and operating with the concept of ‘fast food’. Little did we know that it’s even lower than our low expectations. We ordered seafood tofu soup and to our amusement, 1 prawn, 1 clam, 1 mussel with tasteless soup base (see pic), I reckon that’s seafood for them. The kimchi is the most pathetic looking and tasting that I have ever experienced, it’s dry and unusually and suspiciously ‘very red’ in colour. We have tried our very best to look for positive things in our food to bring back some sense of comfort to our dinner but failed. If you want a quick dinner and do not care for the quality, there are other places to satisfy that; now you know how disappointed we are. You may ask why didn’t we feedback to the restaurant, well, we are doing it here since there is no feedback loop at the restaurant. Our review is of honest reflection to our disappointment and our sincere notification to any possible customers.

Not too bad, I would recommend to a friend. Dont be fooled by the disappointing menu, they didnt have hotpots like budaejjigae but their bbq sets are good. Once-refillable banchans is good enough for me.The bbq bulgogi was tender and tasted authentic. I liked all their banchans- kimchi, spinach(?), half a marinated egg and some strange seaweed in mayo(?). I liked the weird seaweed, it was light and crunchy.Only thing I was dissatisfied about was the service. Use Chope for reservation for points. Use favepay for cashback.

Started to visit this restaurant a few months back and food was really good and qty was really sufficient. Like it enough to return a few more times and it starts to get worse. On 1 occasion, meat quantity in the bibimbap was so little I can count how many pieces there are with 1 hand. I even verified with the server on the quantity. Another time, the marinated bbq pork was obviously lesser and not well-marinated as before. They also used to include 2 small slices of watermelon in set meals. Then they changed to yakult. Then no more at all. Prices still remain the same.

Do not recommend (Raffles City Branch)On 9 Nov 2019, between 9-9.30pm, noted the following bad service:1) servers ignoring me when asked to take order, two of them chatting right in front of my table while pretending to clear the table together.2) server asked to clear my table which i agreed. Picked up a side dish and to my face asking me “do you still want to eat this”. AGAIN, I already said he can clear my table. Even if I would like to eat the side dish, isn’t is unhygienic and rude to do that.3) chased me to leave citing “my manager ask me to tell you we are closing so i think you should leave” (my card is still with the cashier and I was waiting for it to be returned)4) there were still a few tables behind me still having their meals. If you are in such a hurry to close, why do you open in the first place?Food is reasonable else the place is not even worth a star. Plentiful of other Korean Restaurants in Singapore. BONUS: With GOOD Service.

Frankly, this eatery would have gotten 4stars if their service standard was much better. The food is above average but the service standard is definitely Below Average, despite paying the 10% service charge! Mind you, it was 3pm so no heavy lunch crowd.Firstly, as you entered, you are seated by a cashier with a super Black Face, so no greeting or welcome smile as typical of most Japanese, Chinese & Korean eateries. Oh well, maybe it was just this unpleasant one.Lo & behold, the staff who took my order seemed to be gagged, so also no smile, no answer to your order & no thank you. Shes like an idiotic robot😠In fact , most of the staff there look unfriendly & angry, including the Manager who is a Korean. You dont feel welcomed eating there. The whole staff there not only look unfriendly & bordering on being rude, but they are indeed unpleasant & unwelcoming. Its so contradicting cos the name of this eatery sounds like going home for your meal but with this bunch of unfriendly staff, theres no repeat visit from me and my friends!

Actually 3.5 stars but there isnt that option.First time i tried this place out since they took over from the previous Korean eatery not to long ago. And I find myself preferring the current restaurant more. The lunch sets and servings were generous enough to satisfy a healthy appetite. And they do not sting on the accompanying small dishes. With each of us recieving 4 sets of identical dishes. Making up 12 plates as there were 3 of us. Two if us ordered the set for two, from which we picked the ginseng chicken, kimchi pancake, and a spicy pork hotplate (generous portions). While one ordered the raymen. We could barely finish the servings although i did have two bowls of rice, too satisfy my lunch carbs requirement. (Yes i do have a healthy appetite, but i am blessed with skinny genes :p, awesome when one is also a foodie! I digress....)Quality of the food was decent, i especially like the spicy pork. The herbal chicken soup was flavorful, however the chicken could have been boiled longer to soften the meat. The pancake i would have preferred if it was slight less oily and a bit more crispy.Service was all right, given the restaurant was full, and they barely had sufficient staff to cope.Would come back again perhaps during dinner and try out their ala Cate dishes in a less rush / hectic setting.
