Briyani is very flavorful and chicken is very tender. Serving size is big and sufficient. Enjoyed the foamy teh tarik very much. Clearing of a dropped piece of chicken from previous customer is slightly delayed, but all is well. Tandoori prawn is 3 pieces and very well grilled, but slightly expensive.
Chicken Masala was too sweet. So many staff but none on the floor. More staff than customers today. Had to get up from my seat while eating a few times and go to the food counter just to get some curry and veg. 3/5 for the food. 2.8 would be my actual score.
Had my first experience with the Lamb Briyani and my goodness it was absolutely amazing, the aroma of all the herbs and spices will make you remember the and yearning to return. Try eating with your hand, wash them first tho.
Love the food here, always come here. order their mutton masala!
Not impressed!! Customer service has to improve. Ordered biryani but the rice didnt carry the taste and texture at all. Instead was just spicy, but the lamb was well cooked. I really hope they try to improve the rice, or for a wierd reason if they stand by their cooking, introduce an alternate type of biryani rice in the menu.
The naan was quiet hard and the chicken chop wasnt very nice it taste sweet.overall not bad
The ambience is nice, service is good just a little pricey.
Good Stasty food I experienced in singapore 😍
Went to the restaurant yesterday and the food was horrible. Food were being served cold. When I asked the waiter why were the food being served cold, he answered Due to the temperature of the air-conditioner.What a sad answer by the waiter...The texture of the food does not look good. The taste of the food were bad too.Been there quite a few times and theres no problem... But this time, the experience I had was really bad and disappointing... I hope that they can improve on their food quality.
Ordered in food panda only to be told their WiFi wasnt working.... Waited 10 minutes Only to them be told my meal was already cooked and ready to be takenFood itself was overpriced and not all that tasty
Ambience:It’s a nice relaxing place. The decor is decent and the restaurant feels clean and bright. The main counter look kind of like Aston’s.Drink:I ordered the Moru (spiced buttermilk). It has a very refreshing taste with the herbs mixed inside. The texture is creamy but not too thick. Caution to those who don’t like coriander.Food:Paneer curry - first glance, it looks pretty decent. There are quite a bit of cottage cheese. Taste however, was lacking. There was not much flavour in the curry. There was also not really any fragrance.Butter chicken- the texture of the chicken is great and the portion is reasonable. Sadly, the taste is also lacking, similar to the paneer.Mutton Biryani - great fragrance and flavour. The rice absorbed the flavours of the meat and seasoning. Mutton itself was tender. However, the portion was really small. Will I return?(Edit)I love good customer service and therefore, will consider returning to try one more time.Thank you Gayatri team for responding.
Great place and food, value for money, with excellent service.👍👍👍
This is not the place I know. Food is not authentic indian food. Food items are added with sugar to cater to other cultures. Very disappointing!
One of my all time favourite fish head curry restaurants. Their curry is not too spicy, flavourful with the fish and pineapple. Could have been a bit less salty. The biryani, raita and side Vege was the usual good quality served on a banana leaf. Not too expensive unlike the banana Apollo thats why we keep coming back here.Service staff takes a bit getting used to, dont mind their initial not so warm greeting, but youll get there through your meal.
Nice foods and the price is reasonable
We ordered chicken 65, dal and pepper chicken. The chicken comes on the bone and cut into really small pieces so that you barely have any meat at all. It would be better to offer a boneless option even if you have to charge more. The egg appam was delicious. I didnt realize until it was too late that the orange stuff was sugar. Without my glasses on, I thought it was a smooth chili paste. 😁 Nice place, but I dont think well be back.
I am a tourist who wants to try some Indian cuisine. Service is great, atmosphere is pretty good. I ordered vegetables with rice, mango lassi and fish curry. Looks good but for me it is a bit salty, and I have to ask for more white rice (free of charge) to finish the dish. But I saw many Indian friends were having food here, so I think the food is good for the people who like strong flavour and I am just not used to salty food. :D
Tasty like always and love the foods
Good 4pax Lunch on 19Dec2016we ordered 4 dishes (include fish head curry).lime juice S$3 a bit expensive, quite good, so ok.for me, pepper prawns was the best dish for lunch.large prawns, very fresh, plump & bouncy, good serving size & excellent sauce. all for S$18.the madras chicken was not bad.again sauce tasty & aromatic with the herbs.cannot tell if masala chicken or butter chicken maybe better. anyway this was amply ok.we ordered 2 garlic naans (S$7.50). we only finished one.felt not enough sauce & asked server for some butter chicken gravy or dhal.he came with the big plate of dhal. not the best for naan but i thought it would be complimentary. he charged us S$7. might as well order a large dish of butter chicken or squid at S$11???we ordered the S$17 fish head curry promo.it was whole head, not 1/2, but a small head.miles better than banana leaf apollo bistro we had on 4.11.2016, fish head was very fresh & fish meat tender. the curry i had to go back to getting use to, but after a while, i quite liked it. thought it was very good too…the mutton dum briyani at S$11 was a good value dish.rice were separate, single grain, very nicely done.there was a huge serving of mutton, like maybe 8 large pieces.mutton was tasty & tender, but still a bit robust & some gamey taste. i had better briyani at other places, notably chat masala. still it was a great dish & all of us liked it.my friend who paid for lunch had a S$50 groupon, so i guess lunch was about S$80nett, which was pretty ok for the food.
Service is poor and slow. Staff werent very helpful and they Only brought water upon request(wouldve expected that to be served first from a restaurant of any caliber). Food was ok. Chicken biriyani was nice and flavourful, but Masala dosai and plain dosai were ordinary and nothing special. Mango lassi was rather sour. Prices are reasonable for a restaurant. Wouldnt quite recommend.
One of the best restaurants along that stretch... Very good ambience and excellent food. A must for Indian food. Excellent service too
A calm and serene environment. With friendly and helpful service crew. Good portion of food served, value for money.
A satisfying dinner. The young waiter was very polite and friendly. I like the garlic naan.
Indian food makes me sleepy after I eat..
Very bad service and bad attitude. Taste was not good, also high price if you compare with other restaurants which is nearby. Did not keep water even after asking several times. Please dont waste your money. Provided wipes to everyone of us like it was free and nicely charged $3 in charge.
Great food. Banana leaf set lunch is a must have. Had good methi fish and prawns as well.
Great place awesome biryaniDelicious kulfi
The food there is excellent. Service is also very good. Enjoy very much.
Be careful with tissues, they serve you like a it’s a free and charge you $3 nicely.
Maybe Strictly for non vegetarian food. But for Vegetarian food, I can just give one star, tastes very weird here
This is the only restaurant that comes to my mind when I want to have something outside for my lunch or dinner. My spouse and I are regular customers for their Fish Briyani for lunch and Naan(butter/plain/garlic) with Paneer butter masala and Mutton Mysore for dinner, which I would recommend trying at least once. Price is also reasonable(less) compared to other restaurants on the same street but never less in the quality of the dishes and you get to pay only the amount in the menu card(no additional service charges).
Amazing. Just amazing. Authentic indian food with good service. Have a try and experience it yourself. Thank you to all staff and crew from Gayatri restaurant.
Nice fish head curry.. Monday got special promotion for fish head curry
Good place, lot of meat dishesMore of south Indian style
Good food reasonable prices pleasant ambience courteous staff
Good food!
Awesome food, great ambience and efficient staff. Special shout-out to Ms Mallika for her superb and attentive service. Highly recommended!
Food is very nice. Service is almost non-existent
Ordered 2 packets Mee goreng for take away...But when I n my friends ate it, it tasted like rubbish goreng...If they dont know how to cook, they shouldnt put it on the menu...And the price was too costly...
Good Indian food. Reasonable prices and food portions are quite generous. Would recommend!
🔥🔥🔥food is very good. But slightly costly
Delicious mealGood customer serviceWell control crowd
All so delicious. Price is good also!!
The food was excellent...ordered chicken, fish and mutton briyani and it was cooked well and delicious.
Good ambience , pleasant service , clean.Set meals adequate and ok.....value n taste 😔
Good service
Today we went gayathiri for lunch as it was Deepavali. The staffs were very efficient and cleared the crowd with safety distances and was polite and smile at us even though it was soo busy.Food was tasty both vegetarian and non vegetarian.
The food not nice or tasty at all
Ok for vegetarian food. Paneer masala was sweet. I guess this is more popular for non-vegetarian food lovers.
Service and food was good. Will come back.
Good price
Service up to expectation. Food was better rated than other restaurants of popular name.
Warm n friendly place and service
Had vegetarian meal and the sambar I had no taste very plain n bland.
Love the butter chicken! Very friendly staff and very generous food portion!
Service and foodwas excellent
Fish head was not well cooked enough before serving on the table.Mutton pertal dish needs more improvement if fresh mutton is used instead of frozen.
Loved the breads and the non veg curries here! Heard the veg selection is good too!
Tried the Masala chicken thosai over the weekend. Last dined this same dish several years back. Back then the thosai was crispy and the gravy was thick and gave your taste buds an explosion of flavours. Standard seems to have dropped significantly. Worst is the masala chicken thosai is priced alongside murtabak. Very expensive.
Fast and prompt service. Food very reasonable prices. Tastes is very Good.
Went to restaurant a week back and mutton served was either not freshed or cleaned properly. We came in pax of 4 and was not able to eat the mutton dished although changed twice. Was charged the mutton at the cashier and we kindly told them we were all not able to eat. The cashier said no one said anything and she loses money like this. It is as if we are not important as customers who comes by almost every other week. And the cashier said shes the owner. She argued worst than coffeshop episode! Never recommending or going there back again!
Gayatri has good food menu and its briyani rice is them fluffy & beautiful to see & eat.
Its disappointing to know that service and qualify of food has dropped drastically. Taste of food not as good as before . It was crowded this afternoon for lunch and service was slow . I should have taken my friends suggestion to go elsewhere as he faced the same thing when he went there for lunch a month ago. GAYTHRI, PLS BUCK UP.
