Very serene, calm place. Inside decor is very colonial and unique. Set menu allows you to taste quite a number of dishes as portion size is manageable. Steamed seabass, Apple roll, Spring rolls are recommended. Staff is very humble and attentive. Only disappointment in the menu was very limited variety of beers. Overall, worth a visit.

Enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. The hospitality by the staffs were fantastic. Jo was v friendly and gave great recommendations. great service, and serves from the heart. The food was great. Ordered the clear Tom yum soup, it was very refreshing with just the right mix of ingredients. Generous portion of sticky rice. I would recommend the fern omelette. For dessert we ordered the coconut ice cream and it was fantastic; not overly sweet. Very fresh.I would definately be back. And special thanks to Jo for making our night such an enjoyable one.

Beautiful place, good food, incredible service. The historic house in which the restaurant is located is very beautifully decorated with extreme care and attention to detail. We had the lunch set menu. Food was nice but we felt that we needed to come back to taste the full set menu as options in the lunch menu were a bit basic. We ended up ordering the usual: green curry and pad Thai. The starters were delicious. So was the coconut ice cream for desert. The service was one of the best I had in Singapore. Incredibly attentive to the point of anticipating your needs (e.g. bringing an extra cup for the tea without us asking). All that while keeping discreet and non intrusive.Worth combining a meal with a walk in the Labrador Park.We will come back.

Very warm and prompt service by the Thai waitresses. We had brunch, portions are small so we get to try alot of items. We chose to sat outdoor under the patio, wasnt too humid, great distance between tables and lots of greenery! This caters more for international patrons, so if you like more kick in your TomYam, rem to tell them!

Travelling is limited these days, so the best we can do is take a drive to some hidden gem places, and this is one of my personal favourites. Its shrouded in shady trees, tranquil, and you can listen to the crickets almost the whole time youre there! Its the perfect place for solace and quiet contemplation. I come here to walkabout, and take pot shots with my digital camera. Everytime I get here, I feel so laid-back, and carefree:)

Fantastic place for a date with your special person... Impeccable decor, lovely wine collection, great food and stunning location and grounds...The Saint Emillion red wine was amazing and so was the Sea Bass, Green curry chicken and Larb Gai salad. Dont go for the clear Tom Yum soup....Im taking one star off for the fact that they shut down too early. For a place that is as laid-back as this one, you just need more time to soak in the place

Had branch at the Tamarind Hill. There were 3 things that I liked about this place:1) Super Excellent Customer Service.Apart from taking our order the lady also make light the atmosphere by whispering into my wifes ears that our daughter was very beautiful. Very beautiful indeed she is. This was just one of the many examples.2) Very quite, serene & green surroundings with a Heritage Building in the middle. Reminded me of any of the jungle resorts in India.3) Last but most importantly the food was quiet a spread & more importantly they were all very light. Didnt feel heavy & bloated after eating 12 - 15 different varieties of meats, seafood, rice & curries. Not only were they light but each of them had its own different taste to go by.You should have a look at the spread that was offered at the branch. Ive also clicked a few pictures that Im sure the viewers will like.Lastly, its a must visit place. Atleast once if not more.

We thoroughly enjoyed the sundowners drinks with the room pkg, brekky n dinner - food was of high quality n service too! There was plant based option for us n the eggplant & Cauliflower curry was outstanding. So is the Tom yum soup and the barrimumdi fish with sauce! We could tell sauces were all made from scratch & chefs signature as it was rich and so flavoursome. Thanks Chef!Special thanks to Roses warm sweet hospitality and so kind! Well be back again soon!

Quaint and lovely place - feels so out of SG even though its just a stones throw from the buzzing busy ARC. Setting is uniquely colonial and rustic and I think I arrived too early in the evening to feel the special vibe. Food is great with some special twists, though if wet towels were provided with my lobster dish that would be really perfect. BTW reception is rather poor this part of the world it felt like Tambourine mountains in Australia.

Decided to come here to celebrate wedding anniversary after reading the highly rated reviews but strangely it was bad service and dining experience, with average food. Had to ask to refill water, pre-requested during booking for decorative dessert (ok to pay extra) but there isnt any, and explicitly asked to leave though we are already done and getting ready to go - this is the first restaurant i come across that could not even wait a while longer. If there is a 0 rating , i would have given it.

Wonderful Thai food in this old Colonial Style residence converted to a beautiful restaurant. The outdoor seating makes you feel like you are dining amidst nature. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My husband and I ended up chatting with them for quite some time after dinner. The food was great, but not sure how authentically Thai it is. Nevertheless, we loved everything they served. And its not even crazy expensive, maybe even economical for the entire experience. Will be visiting again.

Tamarind Hill is situated at a very scenic spot at Labrador Park, set in a restored colonial era bungalow. If you come in the evening with the sun setting in the background, its a beautiful backdrop for photos. Inside, the walls are adorned with art work and the lighting is fine tuned to create a cozy and private ambience which is perfect for small family dinners and an intimate dinner for couples. It is Thai cuisine refined with a touch of both old and new. We ordered Clear Seafood Tom Yam, Sticky Rice, Kai Lan, Eggplant, Sea Bass and Minced Chicken, all of which were cooked perfectly and were well balanced. Although it is a little pricey and difficult to get to, would highly recommend it for those with a penchant for Thai cuisine (who dont mind travelling a bit) or who are looking to celebrate a special moment and would prefer a more private, intimate dining experience.

Celebrated our 4th year anniversary at Tamarind Hill and they prepared a table full of rose petals for us; making us feel really special and loved. The service was really good, loved that their staffs were attentive and very welcoming - true inclusivity there! The food and ambience was amazing too; it feels like we are out of Singapore and transported to Thailand. We stayed at the Villa Samadhi hotel thus we also had our breakfast here, outdoor. Its a true getaway to have breakfast with a greenery view and the sound of nature. Such a great way to start the new year. I highly recommend anyone who wants a “outta-Singapore” getaway experience to both Tamarind Hill and Villa Samadhi.

Extra points for the ambiance but if you sit outdoors, bring along your insect repellent. Parking is free but limitet lots.

A little pricey but worth it for novelty of its location, ambience and unique take on Thai cuisine (and a few Shan inspired dishes). Overall, do recommend a visit at least once. We went for dinner but the Sunday brunch is too good for its value for money.Fish cakes were amazing, curries were tasty and the pan fried fish was super soft and delicious. What could be better - calamari could be crispy, cocktails could be served in better glasses and staff could be a bit more accommodating. We asked to be moved indoors midway through the meal but were told its full (even though several tables were empty). Reservation form asked if were celebrating a special occasion which we were, but there was zero acknowledgement of that so I didnt get the point of asking.

A very quiet (in a good way) place for dinner got a little less enjoyable without the ambient music being allowed to be played. It meant that the kitchen, bar and all service sounds were very prominent. That, combined with last orders for both food and drink being taken at a silly early time (8:45pm!), meant it did feel a bit like they were ready for us to leave after being there for only an hour. That being said, the lady maître d was friendly, attentive and efficient, the food is very good (try the scallop starter), and the music thing will only last a little while longer.Would definitely recommend... when the ambiance is restored.

Place is beautiful, for lunch as well as for dinner. The service was a bit slow. The food was a big dissappointment. This wasnt my first time at Tamarind hill, and I had much better experiences before. The food didnt have any salt at all, the salad didnt have the characteristic fish sauce aroma, the curry was also missing something, and the chicken used for it had too much fat. I finished the food with some effort, and I love thai food! As I said, not my first time here, dont know if it was a bad day, or the quality has gone down so much. Atbleast the executive menu wasnt expensive (taking into account the beautiful location)

The location is atop the Labrador Reserve as the name suggests and the entrance is super inviting with bamboos adorning both the sides amid a vastly green surrounding. A historic colonial bungalow has been converted into the restaurant serving authentic Siamese cuisine. I was pretty impressed with the decor themed Black & White, radiating so much positivity. Moving on to the food, we choose to go with the executive set lunch which was a 3 course meal. Soon enough the starters arrived, arranged neatly along a straight line on the plate with the right amount of everything. Of the lot I loved the minced chicken salad, it was flavourful and well cooked. The main course “Green Thai curry”, the best I have had yet was creamy with the right amount of spices, left me wanting for more. And finally for the dessert, generally am not a fan of durian but somehow it’s tingling flavour mixed with the coconut ice cream felt heavenly. Overall a great experience and would definitely visit in the future.

Food is good but you feel rushed out. We booked at 7.45, arrived at 7.55. Before we had even eaten half our main at about 9 the staff came and pushed us for last drink and desert orders at which point we said no. 10 mins later my wife decided she would like a scope (yes just a scope of ice cream) but we were told quite abruptly that we had been informed and the kitchen was closed. We managed to convince them that there wasnt much preparing in a scope of ice cream which was pretty much thrown at our table. After 9pm it felt like they just wanted people out so they could close which made us nd clearly other diners around very uncomfortable. We finished quickly and left. This place is not cheap, and based on experience wont recommend or rush back.

Dined here on a Sunday evening without reservations. We were a bit skeptical because of the hit or miss reviews and these were not soothed by the waitress’ initial attitude. However, our worries were put to rest as soon as we tasted our appetizer and this is now our FAVORITE Thai restaurant in all of Singapore, replacing the much loved Jim Thompson. The green papaya salad is the best we’ve had in all of Singapore. This could easily be eaten as a meal, though the portion would need to be doubled. The fried grouper is lightly battered in corn flour and is pretty tasty. My only gripe is that it was a bit fishy. A bit too fishy for me. The presentation was lovely and I really want to give it five stars, but I can’t. Needs to be fresh. No excuses, especially at its price point. The phaneng curry (spelled differently and this is also incorrectly spelled) was amazing. The pork neck was tender and still juicy. No pork taste. Honestly, this dish was amazing. We had steamed rice and juices to compliment our meal. Service warmed up and was quite pleasant. Ambiance is absolutely on point! The restaurant also happens to be a black and white. Gorgeous. Parking area is complimentary and a very short walk away.Very highly recommend this restaurant.$190 for two.
