Great Farm Tour with a knowledgeable resource person. The farm is located at a picturesque location and the staff is quite friendly and helpful. However the star attraction was their sattvic lunch. I highly recommend you to not miss the lunch and take your loved ones for this weekend farm tour. An ideal way to spend time knowing and exploring nature.

One of the best farm to have organic veggies in and around Pune. They supply variety of veggies to pune market and even have a door delivery in Pune once a week. Variety of lettuce is superb and saw avocado production in pune for the first time.

Tokri Farms is an ideal place for Green Adventure! It displays parthenocarpic growth of plants. The plants are grown solely on water (soil-less) using the Hydroponic Technology. Its an exciting place for nature lovers!

The booking process of the Green Tokri Farm tour and the follow-up messages for directions, schedule and other such details on WhatsApp and Email gave me the impression that this would be a very well thought out professionally conducted tour, as one finds in most countries in Europe/US etc. Sadly my impression was wrong. As asked, we reached the venue on time at 9.30am after an hour long drive from Pune. Our presence was ‘noted’ at the entry and we were left to ourselves for a long time. We served ourselves some lovely herbal tea, which we ‘discovered’ in a flask kept next to the water. The welcome and introduction which according to their schedule should have started at 9.45am started only at 11am. No apologies were expressed for the delay. There were not many participants. A preachy Mr. Khan (if I am not wrong about his name) with an I-know-it-all attitude started telling the story of the farm. Amidst a lot of cross-talk, his constant disruptive ‘interaction’ with some the kids of the participants and preparation of salad dressings the story of the farm was narrated in a very discontinuous manner peppered with generalized statements about the habits of Indian men and women, in the name of humour. Samples of the produce were given out for tasting. After this long and boring introduction and after testing our patience we finally set out for the ‘tour’ which was quite mediocre. A lot more information could have been packed in a very interesting manner in a shorter time. To be able to administer/manage a large farm and to be able to conduct a guided tour about the same need two different skill sets. Time has become the most valuable resource today and it must be optimally utilized. The lush salad farm is a sight to behold though. We were encouraged to pluck and take back a lettuce each. Fresh grown produce was available for sale. The lunch consisted of bread, various spreads/sauces, pickled veggies and an assortment of salads and other farm fresh produce and products made from them. They were generously laid out. The lunch setting, like the one used for the tour intro, is rudimentary. However, it felt nice to eat something different than the stereotypical lunch one is used to. There was not much to look forward to for the kids to eat except for some average quality pasta. A salad dressing and a cucumber were given to each adult as a parting gift. For the price of Rs. 820 per person, I would definitely not say that it’s a must-do experience. If you have ample time and want to relax, detox and are ok to not gain much info for your time’s worth, you can do this tour.
