Many places are near to this statue. Like kothrud bus stand , kothrud post office, kothrud petrol pump and many banks. Small eatouts are also present nearby.

Bharatna Keshav Karve Statue is at centre of the main road which divides Kothrud & Karve Nagar. The main road is always busy with vehicles. It is easily visible from the heavy traffic also.

Karve statue is located almost at the centre of Karve Chowk and divides a road as one branch heading towards Chandni Chowk known as Paud road and another one heading towards Yashwantrao Chavan natyagruha or Bhujbal township etc. as a karve road.Karve statue is built up in a memory of a well known educator Late Dhondo Keshav Karve popularly known as Maharshi Karve.The statue was built under the guidance of well known architect Mr. Swapnil Gawande and his team.The road here is always having some kind of hustle and bustle and have loads of small shops jut beneath the statue. So also diagonally opposites are well know outlets as that of Dominos, Mad over doughnuts etc.

In his honour, this road in pune was named to Maharshi Karve Road. Karve was a pioneer in promoting widows education. He was writer, Social worker, professor, instructor in mathematics (1891–1914) at Fergusson College, Poona.
